    For my birthday today, my sweet hubby bought me two Lodge cast iron loaf pans, I baked my bread in the new loaf pans and, the bread was perfect. I always use the dough cycle, and I used your potato flake bread recipe. Hubby and I agree that it has become our favourite white bread recipe. 😊❤

      Happy Birthday to you! What a sweet hubby to get you new loaf pans for your birthday! I’m so glad you’re pleased with them. I absolutely love mine and they are so fun to use! I’m so happy to hear your bread turned out so well in them and y’all liked that recipe. Thank you for letting me know!! I appreciate that so much!

      And honestly, your husband must not only be sweet, but smart, too! You’ve already been making him homemade bread to eat! It’s a win-win for both of you! 😊

    I baked a loaf in the Zoe bread machine yesterday. I don’t usually bake it in the bread machine but I will say the Zo machine does the best job. Like you I use the dough cycle or mixer and bake in the oven. The loaves are so big baked in the machine that my husband and I usually split one sandwich. I use half AP and half bread flour because it’s hard to find organic bread flour. I grind my own when I’m not pushed for time. Thanks for the recipe!

      Hi Liza! I agree, the Zo does a great job making the bread in the machine, but I still do prefer using the dough cycle or mixer and baking in the oven. It is nice to have choices, too, based on the day or my mood! I'll have to give 1/2 and 1/2 AP and bread flour sometime. I'm surprised at myself that I've never thought to do that! I usually do grind my own, I've been sharing more of my white breads on here but will be sharing some of my favorite fresh milled flour recipes coming up very soon!

    Hi Robyn, I have the exact same breadmaker as you do, and absolutely love it. I love your recipes using that it makes it so easy for me. The company offers very few videos to show us exactly how to use it so anything that you put up I always try. I am forwarding this video to my husband and I want to show him how to make bread.

    Hello from Canada Robyn. As I write this comment, I have a batch of dough in my recently acquired bread machine working away on the dough cycle. I used the recipe that came with the unit, but I am going to give your recipe a try. I bought my bread machine about two weeks ago because the price of bread has gone through the roof lately. A loaf of artisan bread is around $6.99. I recently purchased a bag of bread flour for $3.49 and anticipate being able to make quite a few loaves from this bag. I recently came across your videos while looking for other things that I could make with my new machine and yesterday made a batch of cinnamon rolls, (very addictive). Anyway, thanks for sharing your knowledge; much appreciated.

      Hello in Canada! I hope you’re loving your new bread machine. I totally agree, with the crazy cost of bread now, it’s time to start making your own! Plus, it’s so much tastier and just all around better. Thank you for finding my channel! I appreciate you being here and trying my recipes! Let me know if you need any help!

Husband just texted and said he had to work 12 hours….i was sitting here going over in my mind (talking to myself) saying we had some steaks, potatoes, vegetables but what bread? There you are when I needed you, got my bread in the bread maker for full time…thanks😊❤

    Hi from Hannover 😊 May I ask if you take the paddles out before baking?!?

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  11 днів тому +1

      I normally don’t, but you can! I really don’t mind the holes in the bottom from the paddles. If I’m baking totally in the bread machine, I usually don’t want to fuss with watching it and removing the paddles. If I want a prettier loaf of bread with no holes in the bottom, I use the dough cycle and bake in the oven. I hope that helps! You definitely don’t have to remove the paddles before it bakes. Thanks for watching all the way over in Hannover! That’s awesome!!

    Hey Robyn I have made this recipe twice using the dough cycle on my cuisinart bread machine. Love the taste of this bread! However, the dough is very sticky despite adding an 1/8 cup more all purpose flour in the first 10 minutes of the kneading process. It’s very difficult to get out of the bread machine pan to shape and get it into a metal loaf pan. Any suggestions would be appreciated! I don’t like the shape of the loaf made in the bread machine. The taste and texture is so much better in the oven. Thanks

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  2 дні тому

      Hi April! Sorry, I didn't explain that well. If yours is still sticky (sticking to the sides, bottom, and paddles of the bread machine), add 1/8 of a cup more flour, let it mix, and see if it needs more. If it does, add another 1/8 cup and continue to do the same until a nice ball of dough has formed. So many things influence the dough including weather, humidity, temperature, etc. Try to add just enough flour to get it looking like mine, and you won't have any problem getting it out and shaped into a nice loaf and into the pan! Hopefully that helps! Thanks for making this recipe and I hope you are able to get your dough more manageable for the next loaf!

    I love how it came out and I was just going to make some Bread this Labor Day weekend Robyn LOL!! I like how the one in the oven it looks like one when cut like the store and that what I will be going for, Can I use buttermilk?? wow!! how good world that be if I can?? what do you think? and yes Robyn the Bread Flour is more Expensive so happy to see I can use All Purpose flour and that at Walmart man!! 😂it is still more at Walmart price need to come down a lot LOL!!

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey there! Yes, you can totally use buttermilk! That would be so good. I need to do that, too. I can't get over these crazy prices at the grocery store. Bread flour was nearly $4 more than all-purpose flour for a 10 lb bag. I about fell over! Yes, I like the look and texture of the dough cycle loaf even better than the bread totally made in the bread machine. Try it out this weekend and let me know what you think!! Thanks so much for watching again!!

    I went to Costco today to buy yeast and they said they have not carried it for quite a while, I was shocked! (I had just given my daughter half of the yeast I had because she is getting into bread making herself now) I went over to Winco and bought three jars of yeast just in case we have a shortage of it like we did at the beginning of 2020.😮

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  14 днів тому +1

      NO WAY! I had no idea! I have so much in my freezer that I haven't needed to purchase it in a while, but I like to keep tabs on it, but haven't looked in awhile. I will be checking my costco next time I run in! I wonder why?? That was one of the best deals at Costco! Amazon does carry it in bulk like Costco for a good price, too--you'll have to see if it is a better deal than the jars or not. I'm so happy to hear your daughter is getting into bread making, too!!!!!!!!! That is wonderful!

    • @Robin7-26
      @Robin7-26 14 днів тому +1

      @ I asked the man at Costco why they stopped carrying it and he said he didn’t know but they had not sold it for quite a while. I had bought a second bread machine about eight months ago or so and it just sat on the floor of my closet so I gave it to her for Christmas along with a bread machine cookbook. She’s not into grinding fresh wheat but I’m glad that she wants to make her own bread instead of eating that poison on the shelf.

    Am I able to forego the sugar? If so, should I amend the recipe??

    • @RobynOnTheFarm
      @RobynOnTheFarm  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes you can! The sugar does help the taste but also feeds the sugar a bit, but you can get away with using just 1 Tbs or not use any at all. You could also use 1-2 Tbs of honey if you’d prefer that. You shouldn’t have to amend the recipe, but if you use honey, just be sure to check the ball of dough as it kneads to be sure it isn’t too wet. If it is sticking to sides and bottom, add just 1/8 c of flour at a time until it forms a nice smooth ball of dough. I hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching and for your question!
