it took me around 3 weeks of practicing elbow strikes via shadow boxing to actually feel the power behind my strikes. i started with 2 angles and now im practicing around 6 different angles. u cant just watch the videos, especially with elbow strikes because you have to turn with the ball of ur foot and the hips as well

The elbow is the knife of the body. It's an enormous amount of energy concentrated in a very small bone area that will make some horrible damage. In thai boxing, it's very common to have cuts in the flesh from an elbow.

I love that you post free videos on youtube along with paid lessons on your website. I'm generally terrible at sports and if literally anyone attacked me I'd be in quite f***ed, but I have learnt few basic tricks and I defitely look at the streets differently.
Keep on doing awesome work. :D

What do you recommend in terms of training? Should we find somewhere locally or practice on our own? I'd feel safer in a fight if I knew a place I could go get some hands on experience, with real people.

Great question. A great way to train is by learning a reality based self-defense system and practice with a training partner. You can find some training partners in your area using local ads. Hope this helps. Stay safe.

Elbows are a devastating attack, nobody's arguing that. I saw an actual fight a few weeks ago where this guy got his face cut open from an elbow strike. Can you make a video on how to block/counter an elbow strike?

    • @codereddefense

Yes indeed, elbows make devastating strikes. Thanks for the video suggestion, we will consider making a video on this topic. Stay safe.

Defending an elbow strike is really difficult.. Very few can pull it up..

Preemptive striking as a bouncer sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen, no?

The camera operator needs to pick a wider lens, stand back, and point a little bit more down. I cannot see your knees when you point to them.

+Flame wheel Elbows are some of the toughest bones in the body, try punching an elbow, or get a friend to, they could break your hand. Elbows, knees and shins are probably the toughest body parts you could use in a fight. Yes, they work on larger opponents

its working only if you taller ar same hight with enemy. if your enemy is 0.5 higher then you(like mist time in my situation), you should rise your elbows much higher then shoulder to reach the chin of oponent

+Сюткин Валерий If you are that small, then you can move to another target that is now very easy to hit : the groin :D

I think I will make a great partner with you because I have the aspects of I'm sure you do too she worked at a bouncer of course but I've had the aspects of the streets rutting around knowing people who snakes who's not I know a lot of tricks with water bottles with IC with I see something as a stapler and someone has a gun to my head I'll just smack him with a staple of real hard like like like like that and one time the door opens my hand automatically shuts it it's like natural reaction it would be nice to do some things with you
