Thank you Fr Mike for this homily. I was removed from all m ministry work when a priest came to our parish who didn’t like my views on keeping the deposit of faith. Your teaching today encouraged me to keep speaking and not be silent.
Thank you Father, for not sugar-coating anything. Thank you for opening our eyes and making us aware of our responsibility and of what is at stake. It's obvious you truly CARE about the salvation of those who listen to you.
Fr. Mike, this was a tremendously impactful homily. I’m 64 and a life long Catholic and I’ve never heard this Gospel preached in that way. If only we had more spiritual leaders like you. Thank you so much.
You were on fire this morning, Father Mike!! Telling it like it is! May God bless you and keep you on that pulpit teaching and leading us. We so desperately need men like you helping us to not lose our way. ❤❤❤❤
There was a time in the 1950s/60s in England when the hard parts of the gospel were heard from the pulpit. That were part of Catholic school life. By the 70s it had mostly disappeared. I was born in the 50s and blessed to have had this foundation.
I wish I had this homily three days ago, when I did precisely what Fr. Michael said : I got furious by the miserable state of my life and instead of taking proper action I let a couple of my inner demons (my anger and my jealousy) take control and accused God of having golden children and me not being one of them. I messed it up, again. If I end up in hell, it'll be well deserved, for being an ungrateful and lazy POS.
Father looking in from Blackrock in Dublin and seeing your church full is a great testament to the priests of that parish . Very happy to be able to hear and see you Ft Mike and appreciate it. Thank you
I wish I can be a member of your church. But I live up north. I feel like I’m drying up my holy priest retired. I feel I lost my shepherd. And I need a spiritual director. Pray for me🙏🏼
Fr. Mike That was the most through analysis and explanation of one of many gospel passages that has haunted me despite my repetitive readings, truly great Fr. Mike. Thank you and God bless you
When you are Blessed with The Catholic Faith. Read the Gospels. A paragraph or two at a time and meditate on them Speak Lord, Your Servant is listening. An Act of Contrition every night. The Holy Rosary, Chaplet of Mercy, Stations of The Cross.
That voice that tells us "don't do it" or "You're not that good at that" ISN'T from God! We are given gifts to share, each in a unique way. Finding where our puzzle piece fits into the whole Church community picture is important! And that's a great analogy of the Doctor only telling us good news and not bringing up where we are sick or diseased. We have to hear the whole story so we know what to work on. Remember this journey is over very, very quickly and we need to get our souls ready for heaven!
Excellent and a huge AMEN!!!!! Father Mike, after 30 years being with a parish in Charlotte, one of my biggest issues is not reading the ENTIRE reading. I call that a short cut, but who is it benefitting? NO ONE! Of course, related to that is the fluff, or as you call it, cotton candy sermon. We left that parish nearly 2 years ago. (I would still love to get down there and buy you the lunch or breakfast I promised over a year ago.)
Excellent sermon. I can see why the Gospel is can be a wake up call. Also see why it is a good reason that you should never bring a child into a world if the odds of eternal fire are massive. Challenging is good, but does the downside have to be so awful? Never heard a good answer. Seems more like the bad news rather than the good news.

Many are living in unrepented mortal sin and the Divine Life is not within them.

When the relationship with the master disappears, the value of the talents we possess also disappears

He has put me to work. Now what do I do?
🇮🇪💕x
We have a priest who always shortens the readings, whether the church gives him the option or not. I like Fr Mike better.
Who has 16 minutes for this?
