I have a FOBOS Cacula and absolutely love it. Very capable and robust but not too large, it has great fit and finish. The stonewash is polished underneath so it's very smooth. DCA, you are correct about what looks like a thumb hole, it's built off a design of their folder, which is still in the works. Can't recommend the Cacula enough.
Don't ever feel like you have to apologize for American made products. The increase in price to know you're supporting American businesses is almost always worth it.
The "almost" is the key word... Good supporting the own country production, when company are not taking Advance of it and overprice stuff more than justified... I for once don't generally buy Italian knives, since herein Italy.... Are generally priced higher than there in US, which makes little sense to me and feel like they ripping me off. Of course, this is not general situation, but happens a lot. True that the 2 markets are different, and this drives at least partially the price, but... Still bothering me
Everyone wants to support American made til they have to pay American made prices. Love benchmade they make some of the best knives on the market. That’s why EVERY knife maker has copied their designs and locks.
I'm glad you did a great video DCA, cause I missed All My Circuits to see it! I wish Case Knives Would make a full sized Trapper with the Warnclift 2nd blade. I don't hate the spay blade It's just the Warnclift or even better a Big Sheepsfoot blade would suit me better. It's also nice to see someone come out with a dedicated replacement for the Buck 110/112 select's dreadful huge pocketclip! I ended up modifying a couple Benchmade Bugout Pocketclips for the two 112 selects I have. But then I ground down the sides, slimming it down, of the OEM Buck Pocketclip (because I do like the Buck Knives logo) and added it to a Buck 110 LT along with a Thumbstud.
$184 isn't bad for that Czech Republic made Acta Non Verba. Larrin Thomas has a winner with Magnacut steel. It's a shame those Olamics are so expensive and out of my range ($200) because they're totally useful. They could do a Spyderco and put premium steel with a practical FRN Type handle and I'd buy that 90V steel, but not at $600++. I really wished Case would jump up to a 440C type steel. 440C is better than some folks think. It is the 100 average all knife steels are rated by, like OPS+ in baseball where 100 is the average. If 110 (VG10) above average and 90 (14C28N) below average.
There’s only a few options in the tiny balisong market. I’ve tried a couple around the 300+ range and they weren’t designed well nor did they flip very well. Heed Industries actually specializes in balisongs, so their design looks phenomenal and actually flippable. Very tempted to grab one!
any alternative for Morse Kochanski knife: short, thick blade, non sceletonized fultang, high toughness steel (example:cpm3v) can be used as NECK knife. ?
I find it hard to sharpen D2 to a razor fine edge like I can with other steels. Maybe im doing something wrong but my other non-D2 blades I can get shaving sharp.
curious to know: how do you (knife center) know that a knife like the Acta Non Verba A100 is actually using Magnacut? They could easily make with S35vn... and slap on a magnacut label so how would we know?
These companies have a certain reputation to maintain with pricing things and customer satisfaction they can't afford to lie about it. These aren't Chinese made knives, there's industry reputation they have to uphold
I would like to see more knives with Ultem plastic handles. My warncliff PM2 has RGT Ultem grips and it is my favorite edc. Lightweight also. Screw heavy metal grips.
DCA, Something I heard you mention in the video several times and being a long time off and on collector and even knifemaker long time ago which made me even more curious. What are "LIFTERS" on knives you mentioned??? : )
I love titanium but if we’re being honest the buck pocket clip is more secure than my benchmade knives spydercos pretty much all premium knives I carry the s35vn spitfire when I need a knife I know I won’t lose
Nice video as usual, with a note... If you don't consider ambidextrous a knife with a single side movable thumb stud, then there there is no ambidextrous knife that has a pocket clip (unless one exists that has a clip on each side....)
I hear you, DCA. I got a knife last Christmas and was very disappointed when I saw there was no pocket flish... No Pocket Flish... can you believe that?😂
That bolo looks AWESOME! Something for your excellent weekly FAQ video: Bolos! What would be a more budget friendly option? Also: is there a folder to match? A folding edc bolo?!
One minute into the video comment: Those pocket clips look great, can you please please PLEASE get them to make two hole clips of a similar design for Spyderco knives??? The monstrous one with a hold in the center is hideous!
The Benchmade Claymores are named after the military directional AP mine that itself was named after a famous Medieval Scottish sword. So it completes the nomenclature circle.
As the bolo was issued to Hospital Corpsman I would not call it tactical. As a former Corpsman, I have always found that tool interesting and love the history of it and seeing reimagined designs of it.
I no longer buy "Made in China" which completely takes whole knife companies out of the picture. They are our enemy and try to undercut everything we do. They spend more money to subvert our way of life than George Soros can even dream of.
Dude that small Bali is so sweet. I just can’t spend that much tho. DCA please thru your knife industry weight around and get a cheaper Bali for a knife center exclusive thanks man…
I’ve always loved Benchmade, they’ve made some great knives. But they’ve finally pushed me away. That Bailout price is bad. You can get so much more for so much less. Even American made you can do better. They’ve got nothing going for them anymore.
@@Cardsone1 To be honest I'm at a point where no knife is worth it anymore. I like the Bailout (don't own one yet though) and I like this color way very much (and no glass breaker, which for me is a bonus). So probably yes. But I always take my time with buying. So, I will see in a month or so...
@Beat E. Schaub I agree. The color combo on this one is on point! But 300 is insane, like I'm pretty sure that's what I paid for my sebenza a couple of years ago... no way I'm paying that for a production Benchmade, we are talking about 2 totally different levels of knives lol
@Beat E. Schaub I actually looked them up right after that comment and was like, dang, haha glad I got one when I did! Most of them were out of stock, though, so they appear to still sell at that 500 price, I don't see why anyone would buy this at 300 though, I'm sure another "blowout sale" is on the horizon lol
This Dude sounds like the Bob Ross of Knives. 😂 Happy Trees.. Happy Trees living over here, wait, here comes Mr. Happy Bolo, aggressively hacking and chopping! No more Happy Trees.
That Jungle Bolo is sa-WEET. I'd argue against it being a tactical tool, but dang near anything can be tactical I guess. Either way, it can double as a canoe paddle...
I put a Lynch titanium fade clip on my ad20.5, along with Flytanium blue G10 scales, purple thumbstuds and purple titanium backspacer. I call it my Frankenstein knife. Came out looking pretty cool. But let me tell you, getting the original thumbstuds off was one heck of a job. I knew they were red loctited, so heating them up with a hair blower was just step one. The studs had a slotted side for a flat head screwdriver, but the other side was a stepped cone which was incredibly difficult to hold on to with any kind of pliers, just kept slipping off. I ended up using a wire crimper/stripper and squeezing it with all I had. After trying and giving up several times, I contacted Demko and they said they would remove them for me. But I went at it one more time and finally got them off. The Flytanium studs have a T6 screw on both sides so getting them on using two drivers with red loctite was a breeze compared to the removal. Sorry for this long comment but I needed to share my experience. Have a good one.
Concerning the dragonfly. The Marines do not have their own medical corps. Marines don't yell medic, they yell corpsman. You damn well better believe that those things saw front-line combat.
I just wanna say , I got my esee 5 Monday and it is badaaasssss . Thank you knife center for y'all's reviews and quick shipping time
The Esee Izula as my edc fixed blade. What a tremendous knife company. Lifetime guarantee!

ESSE is great! Their warranty is legendary and their heat treatment makes their 1095 perform so well it's amazing!

Nice list! I'd maybe find a way to inch the Para3 LW in there. Thanks Stassa!
Even better than the normal pocket flish, is the ambi-capable pocket flish.
Those are some of the best looking Olamics, both in profile and finishes, that I’ve seen in awhile. Plus s90v certainly helps!

DCA, do you ever remove the coating (dlc) etc, from blades? I like alot of designs that have coatings but I hate coatings.
In regards to the Acta Non Verba. I would argue it is still ambidextrous. The pocket clip can only be attached to one side at a time.

Still waiting for that ANV M311 compact.
How is the sharpening of CPM-D2 compared to D2? D2 takes a while to sharpen.
It is supposed to be easier due to the uniformity and reduction in carbide size.

It is the included torx wrench which can be used to adjust or remove the handles for cleaning -DCA
Why would you have the jungle bolo on if it's discontinued?
