My dad got me the 119 special back in 97... It was my first fixed blade hunting knife... I love that knife and it'll be with me forever...it probably started this obsession!
My dad gave me a Buck 110 when I was a kid. Later on I bought others including the 119. It's funny how well that 420 stainless holds a edge. Must be the hardening tempering process.
I really appreciate you giving the price of each of them when doing these little reviews. I look forward to these every week. I need to find somewhere that makes kydex sheaths for the buck knives. I’ve got several and now I want that Brahma u just showed lol.
14:05 It would be really clever if that center part of the sheath had a grit to it so you could sharpen your knife. A different grit on each side of course.
DCA you are spot on when it comes to knives for “kids” and the handle size being equally if not more important than blade size. I’ve seen people suggest things like the Dragonfly or other knives in that respective size as first knives but in reality it takes more skill to use a knife with such a small and precise handle.
Just got my 117. It's a little razor. My initial impression is it'll be great for scaling and gutting fish, camp cooking, whittling, etc. Like a Mora with some serious balls.
Man I was loving the more frequent edits in this, from the surprise Seth V appearance, to the ghost activity highlights, to the "acshually..." edits about phenolic and pocket slips. Had a much more jaunty vibe on this one, guessing sleep deprivation was getting to you both, but no doubt it made for an entertaining vid. That Ocaso is clean, but the price is a bit steep for my blood, already have two CEOs and a Metamorph g5, don't need a new gentleman's knife, except... I neeeed it....
Gosh, when I seriously started collecting knives almost 3 years ago, I could afford the price of many knives featured on this channel. No more. I can't afford to drop $150 to $300 for one cool knife, and almost every knife featured in this video was at this price point. And I love that Viper Rhino but it was out of stock for years and now its too rich for my blood.
Yep...i too have had to stop buying Knives.., & it's a Shame, Cause i used to be able to afford it, & it was a damn good hobby for me at my age of over 50..ok over 55..then....🤠
@Jim Book AUS 8 is a really good steel, said the year 1997. I will never buy his gear. I like his ideas, but not at rip off prices. That tanto is a $40 knife.
I would assume that the heat treat is done exceptionally well for the price that's the only thing that I can figure that you're paying for that and the name! Now if what I said is true I would pay the price at the heat treat was done properly because what's the point of good steel if it's not he treated correctly
Yeah it's like $250 here for D2 . No way I'm paying that for a non-cpm steel knife . Good thing I bought most of my knives years ago , because new ones are just out of budget.
Hello, Will You have on your site reviews of Cudeman knifes? Really great quality knifes. You have already described some Jokers and even Aitor models but such a great company as Cudeman is strangely missing unless I'm wrong. Regards!
I think you’re the only person I’ve seen that thinks the Demko fixed blades are a good price, considering it’s a Taiwan made Aus10 blade with plastic handles it’s seems to be almost twice what it should be. I think you’re paying for the sheath more than the knife in this case.
@@Maker_shaker51 I didn’t say anything about shipping. I also didn’t say anything about the Spyderco. What I said was that the Demko seems overpriced for what you are getting and I believe that a lot of the price is for the sheath. Why do you think the Demko is a great price?
The kizer drop bear looks like a decent knife. I'm not really a fan of the blade shape but it'll still work good and everything else looks great especially those aluminum matt handles. They look similar quality to the AWT aluminum scales I have on my pm2 but those are blue and mine is black. The matt paint or coating on the scales makes it a lot grippier than normal aluminum scales for sure.
