Took me a while to figure it out. You know the health packs on the sides of the entrance to the intel on Turbine that you need to jump on the cart thing to get up to. I thought the only way to get up was as scout, soldier, pyro (thruster pack), demo, engineer (sentry jumping) and medic (quick fix pocket of one of the above). Then i saw a spy jump up there when I was also playing spy and I was beyond confused. That's also where I learnt to do it.
Yeah, the most fun matches in any game are new players against other new players. Neither team knows the "best option" in any scenario and you end up with ridiculous plots that sometimes work.
I remember playing as my main class as a newbie, and a Soldier expected me to Über him, he even said it on his VC and I didn't do anything, I instead did it when I had a hunch, and he said: "We got lucky Medic." I even remember a Heavy teaching me how to properly use übers and when to use them, was a good guy, made me to the next step of a great main Medic.

I did this too; I still play with bots tbh. I wish there was a co-op vs ai (like MvM) on the functional maps like dustbowl and humans get matched up, can vote for the map, choose the difficulty setting etc. :D

Spies don't have to be constantly sapping things and pulling of k00l trickstabs on enemies to be doing their job well; the less enemies that know of your presence, the better. I really don´t get all the prejudice against F2P, I mean I was F2P for three months, then because my backpack was full I buy the "Engineer starter pack" to become premium, and (believe it or not) my skills didn´t improve because of it :(

Hell, if the opposing team has no engies, just learn how to manage your cloak and health and you can kill the entire team. A spy with common sense would’ve killed Funke right then and there rather than just staring at him.
I remeber deleting my gibus for inv space. Now im in a comp team thats heading towards silver 6s and highlander...damn I regret it cause I whould litterly love to pubstomp wearing only a gibus. Welp now I have a solider unusual and several botkillers all with high strange levels. Guess Im glad to have that.
You can buy vintage ones and theres a rare tradeable gibus thats worth several keys. The vintage pyro vision goggles are more easy to find on the community market. Its worth only a scrap or two I think.
This video is so nostalgic for me. It's just something about the atmosphere and chill nature of this entire server that makes me long for a better time. The editing, the Weezer music, the hud, everything. I love it. It makes me think back to playing gun mettle era tf2 on my brother's shitty computer. What a time to be alive. I've been playing tf2 for ages as of now, and this really puts me in a happy place every time I watch it. :)
Being a new player, and knowing how confusing the game is, it kind of disappoints me that you looked at these people and didn't help at all. You could have told that heavy to crouch and jump at the same time.

I don't fault completely new players for *not* knowing that (unlike with a standard bomb cart) RED players *cannot* stop the train on pl_Frontier by standing in front of it. (You can by standing on the train's platform.) Or that standing directly in front of the maw of Lil Chew-Chew the train can be suicidal, for players from *both* teams... because the train can grab you and chew on you, and if 3 or more BLU players are riding the platform at the same time, the locomotive gets insta-kills on anyone it gobbles up. Unless you have read the TF2 Wiki, there is nothing on the map itself that tells you about that, no note on the wall of your spawn room or something. What does make me facepalm is a Spy player who selects an enemy disguise at round start (instead of a teammate disguise) and then just walks out the gate in front of enemies thinking the RED team will buy his disguise, seriously? He didn't even use his invisi-watch to cloak, or use a Deadringer. (Okay, he probably didn't have a Deadringer watch yet.) I mean come on, how about some common sense... I'm pretty sure even the half-arsed playable beginners tutorial Valve made that shows you the basics of how to play Soldier, Engineer, Spy and Demoman (except for explosive jumping, they left that out) mentions you can disguise as someone from your own team by pressing the minus key before the number. Heck, they meantion that in the random game tips that you see whenever you log into a server. But some people don't pay attention to those either, I guess.
I have the suspicion that some new players mistakenly believe disguising as the enemy team will make their Spy immune to the enemy team's bullets! (And rockets, etc.) Like, "I'm in their team now, right, that means they can't shoot me, right? Why aren't they fooled by my disguise?"
I actually got the dead ringer less than I week after I played the game but I had no idea it tricks an enemy into believing ur dead. The thing with this game is that a lot of the equipment just make random stuff like the wrench that makes u teleport or that you have to right click to explode the sticky bombs as a demoman or that ammo recharges ur invisibility or that there is a weapon that makes u shoot screws as engineer, ( I don't play engi as much which is why I have no idea what any of his equipment are called)
When I started TF, I already know how to play because I read manuals, wikis, and watch the vids, made me surprisingly a better Gibus. After 3 years, I can still play it right
Oh I seen some worst of how some f2p spy thought it would be a good idea to backstab a sentry this one time on CTF over my kill cam, when he was next to the sentry when he had the sapper out and then put it away, disguised as a demo with 2 or of the blu team walk by, he went behind the sentry with his knife and use it on the sentry and got himself killed...
TF2CrunchyFrog For new players I dont recommend playing tf2 on PC. what I recommend is playing the Orange Box TF2 version for a little bit until you at least can navigate 2Fort and Dust Bowl. Not only will you learn how to use the vanilla weapon over time, you will then take those skills you learned and transfer them over to PC TF2 and then learn new concepts like new weapons and then when you do get a gibus you will shock the enemy team right out of the gate with either what your familiar with (stock weapons) or new weapons that people can easily understand (Brass Beast, Scottish Resistance, Baby Face Blaster, Reserve Shooter, Cloak and Dagger, ect.). Though nothing can prepare them for the. . . odd weapons (Natasha, Soda Popper, Huntsman, Jarate, Dead Ringer, Widowmaker, Ect.). I wish Valve had a updated tutorial for the now times of tf2 with special weapons and stuff

Hell, if the opposing team has no engies, just learn how to manage your cloak and health and you can kill the entire team. And second, you CAN fool the enemy, but spy is meant to be an assassin, he needs to KILL while blending in... A spy with common sense would’ve killed Funke right then and there rather than just staring at him.

You can buy vintage ones and theres a rare tradeable gibus thats worth several keys. The vintage pyro vision goggles are more easy to find on the community market. Its worth only a scrap or two I think.

The editing, the Weezer music, the hud, everything. I love it. It makes me think back to playing gun mettle era tf2 on my brother's shitty computer. What a time to be alive. I don't fault completely new players for *not* knowing that (unlike with a standard bomb cart) RED players *cannot* stop the train on pl_Frontier by standing in front of it. (You can by standing on the train's platform.) Or that standing directly in front of the maw of Lil Chew-Chew the train can be suicidal, for players from *both* teams... because the train can grab you and chew on you, and if 3 or more BLU players are riding the platform at the same time, the locomotive gets insta-kills on anyone it gobbles up. Unless you have read the TF2 Wiki, there is nothing on the map itself that tells you about that, no note on the wall of your spawn room or something.
What does make me facepalm is a Spy player who selects an enemy disguise at round start (instead of a teammate disguise) and then just walks out the gate in front of enemies thinking the RED team will buy his disguise, seriously? He didn't even use his invisi-watch to cloak, or use a Deadringer. (Okay, he probably didn't have a Deadringer watch yet.) I mean come on, how about some common sense... I'm pretty sure even the half-arsed playable beginners tutorial Valve made that shows you the basics of how to play Soldier, Engineer, Spy and Demoman (except for explosive jumping, they left that out) mentions you can disguise as someone from your own team by pressing the minus key before the number. Heck, they meantion that in the random game tips that you see whenever you log into a server. But some people don't pay attention to those either, I guess.
I have the suspicion that some new players mistakenly believe disguising as the enemy team will make their Spy immune to the enemy team's bullets! (And rockets, etc.) Like, "I'm in their team now, right, that means they can't shoot me, right? Why aren't they fooled by my disguise?"
I actually got the dead ringer less than I week after I played the game but I had no idea it tricks an enemy into believing ur dead. The thing with this game is that a lot of the equipment just make random stuff like the wrench that makes u teleport or that you have to right click to explode the sticky bombs as a demoman or that ammo recharges ur invisibility or that there is a weapon that makes u shoot screws as engineer, ( I don't play engi as much which is why I have no idea what any of his equipment are called)
When I started TF, I already know how to play because I read manuals, wikis, and watch the vids, made me surprisingly a better Gibus. After 3 years, I can still play it right
Oh I seen some worst of how some f2p spy thought it would be a good idea to backstab a sentry this one time on CTF over my kill cam, when he was next to the sentry when he had the sapper out and then put it away, disguised as a demo with 2 or of the blu team walk by, he went behind the sentry with his knife and use it on the sentry and got himself killed...
TF2CrunchyFrog For new players I dont recommend playing tf2 on PC. what I recommend is playing the Orange Box TF2 version for a little bit until you at least can navigate 2Fort and Dust Bowl. Not only will you learn how to use the vanilla weapon over time, you will then take those skills you learned and transfer them over to PC TF2 and then learn new concepts like new weapons and then when you do get a gibus you will shock the enemy team right out of the gate with either what your familiar with (stock weapons) or new weapons that people can easily understand (Brass Beast, Scottish Resistance, Baby Face Blaster, Reserve Shooter, Cloak and Dagger, ect.). Though nothing can prepare them for the. . . odd weapons (Natasha, Soda Popper, Huntsman, Jarate, Dead Ringer, Widowmaker, Ect.). I wish Valve had a updated tutorial for the now times of tf2 with special weapons and stuff
