I'm doing a furniture makeover on the mid century modern Broyhill Premiere Emphasis. I thrifted this for $400, and I'm going to do a green, Earth friendly makeover using organic milk paint from the Real Milk Paint Company just in time for Earth Day. My mom has one of the sister pieces in this Broyhill collection. The bottom piece is very similar to yours and it has an open bookshelf for the top piece. She has had it since the collection first came out in the 70’s. My grandmother worked at Broyhill and got it for her. It has stood the test of time and is still a solid beautiful piece of furniture.

That tape trick really works! I did that on my walls. I was painting an accent wall with black so covered the tape with the other wall color first. Corners came out so crisp 💕😻.

Andersonville, TN here! Got here late, but I loved how this turned out! And so many great tips like using the anti-foam and setting the tape edges with paint. Girl! You have this paint and technique mastered! Another great job! It is a simply beautiful, modern look! And btw, I personally am never sad when you paint opposed to refinishing--never!!

Extremely beautiful. I love the lines. I’m looking for something like this to use as a sideboard/Buffay. Good find. I love the idea of milk paint. With three kids I hate using chemicals. Today I’m about to set off to do a tiny bit of stripping. With a chemical stripper I hate the idea.

Absolutely beautiful! I painted a Drexel nightstand because it had some deep Scratches and gouges that I had to fill. Someone got very upset I painted it and it looked great. Love your videos

I would have sanded the veneer and re-stained. Would be worth more that way…
What do you do with the interior portions, Drawers etc?
It seemed to have been in a great condition. Pieces like this (exactly like this) retail in my area for ~USD 3000. Wouldn't mind the look on some contemporary, cheap furniture, but sorry to see that vintage piece go.
That came out beautiful. Not my choice of paint color on the bottom. But thank you for being environmental friendly and learning how to use the Milk Paint. Definitely going to take advantage of the discount.
Love the tape tricks but I think I would flip the colors, black on top, bege on bottom. Just my preference 😀
Looks great but I can see brown peeping through around drawer edges on the black part.
I just bought some milk paint and was afraid it would leave lots of streaks. Looking at your piece, looks like it applies smooth! I don’t have the Anti bubble drops, but I do have some bonding agent. I’m excited to try it out now!
Does it scratch easily?
I have to admit I held my breath a good portion of your makeover, but when I saw then end result I was pleasantly surprised on how sophisticated it looked. Gold star for your vision and bravery!

Although I am not a fan of mid mod, you did a great job.
I lived thru mid mod era and my mother tossed mahogany wood furniture to bring in blond mid mod and hard sofas....I was to young to save the mahogany...but I do have her entire bedroom set....
there's a mid mod craze now lol
@@Funkensense I'm aware...God bless them...I can't ever get passed the hard turquoise sofa with white faux leather trim that opened to a bed like a futon with storage below...it was horrible and the blond peg leg end tables still give me nightmares...the corner almost poked out my brother's eye.... LMAO
