The creation of the 1LR-GUE V10 was led by Lexus' chief engine designer, Okamoto Takamitsu. The engine starts life at Toyota's Myochi plant, where the engine block is made from molten aluminum. The block is then sent to Toyota's Honsha factory, the same facility that used to house Toyota's F1 engine operations. Here, the block gets milled, drilled, and polished, emerging as a precise engine block. In a sealed room, Takumis hone every sharp edge using precision polishing tools. After this, a highly skilled Takumi pre-assembles the finished engine blocks to check for precise fitment. Disassembled, they travel as a unit to Yamaha's Iwata city plant. It is at this plant that four highly skilled Yamaha Takumis fully assemble the V10. This process takes 2.5 days for one engine. Before the engine gets installed in an LFA, it undergoes a half day of exhaustive testing.

I'd actually say the LFA would be more similar to the SLR McLaren than the Carrera GT just with the front engine/rwd layout. Seriously epic machine 👌

CGT’s are recalled and not allowed on the roads atm so maybe I can go back to octane for a rev off but not sure that’s a thing

these are a pretty rare case I think of where the machine itself exceeds the badge. In that sort of money a Lexus badge is never going to carry the same sex appeal as a Ferrari etc - but the LFA is a brand all of its own that does stand with those names.
Reason for digital dash was that an analogue needle wasn't fast enough to match the speed of the revs rising

Dont understand the 2 year servicing suggestion. The fact that it's a Lexus means diddly squat. Any oil degrades after 5k miles so that would be a maximum interval, or annually, whichever is first. If you have the money to buy one, why would you cut corners servicing it?

The only thing that’s a letdown on these modern classics for me are the automatic- manual gearboxes. Cutting edge at the time, they didn’t age well.
Your CGT is much nicer than the LFA and it’s not even close… Porsche vs Lexus, no real comparison IMHO if you had to pick one. Cheers

Its the iconic sound of the raging 550hp naturally aspirated 4.8L V10 motor contained within that beast that does it for me. Symphony of pure orgasmic harmony that thing. And then we talk about values. Values have ⏫️ 🚀 gone to space. Absolute winner this thing. You'd of won buying one when you got the Carerra GT.
