I have to say, you've given us a beautiful example with this video. The almost square 4:3 aspect ratio, mic in shot, background split into plain dark brown and light brown, and crisp, concise speech while looking us in the eyes create an old-school public broadcasting announcement vibe without being painfully obviously retro.
"consume and do so intentionally" what a golden nugget of advice! Currently shifting my youtube towards something more intentional as well this video really gave some good structure to build off! Thank you just subbed!
I love this perspective! It's so refreshing to see someone shift the focus from 'content creation' to 'artistic expression'. It reminds us that the heart of creativity lies in the process, not just the end product. Thanks for sharing this insightful message!
I’ve been thinking about UA-cam at the moment and like you said how the creativity feels almost lost in some areas, you made some really interesting points. I do also think that when you start out, it’s normally inspired by someone. So you will most likely make videos very similar to them but then eventually add more of yourself into it and without realising it you are slowly creating your own style. 😊 love the style of this video
Landon, this is the first video I've come across from you and you said exactly what my soul has been feeling for the longest time. I've always loved creating content but felt very restricted with how to actually "make it." This is a completely new way of looking at creating content and what's possible. I'm really excited to further explore this path. Massive thanks for putting out my man!🤘
This video was well done and haven’t seen one similar. Unique, good script, slow, consistent cuts, subtitles were nice little bit of change too. Good stuff bro
Luv the smooth jazz in the background right off the ripppp. My microphone on my iphone is listening to me because the algorithm put your relatively unknown channel on my feed- after speaking with chatgpt. This video content is everything I have been thinking about/ planning. Im spooked.
I’ve been stuck for a long time, I have no idea how to promote my music, I’m an artist in those things, but on the other hand, I really feel lost, your video comes to me like a light to create the content to be a complete artist
The goodness about music is music is not hard to promote, music is such a universal language and all you just need is one or a few your songs to get out there and then you'll gain traction 👍
Echoing some others, but thanks for not only encouraging artists to find their own style but providing a framework to do so. As a music producer who understands the importance of visual media but hasn't pushed myself visually, I'm focusing now on developing a blueprint that aligns with my (and my collaborators') work. Gonna be referencing this video a lot!
This came to me in a perfect time. I recently saw a reel that said, "You are what you think about. " This video expertly builds on that sentiment. My aspirations are to be creative, but I'm still trying to figure out how to piece my sensibilities together and how I want my voice to be represented. Finding inspiration is definitely an aspect, as is a gallon of luck and curiosity. I greatly appreciate this video and have been a subscriber since the early days. PS: I started editing when I was 10 too! :)
This is the only “how to” that I ressonate with and feel like says something both slightly different(ly) and beautifully. So well described and the visualssss>> (tier top)
Great video and some solid advice. I have just started my own channel, at the age of 60,only 22 subscribers but learning with each video and enjoying the process. Love the relaxing jazz in the background. Many thanks. 👍🏻🏃🏽♂️💪🏼
I'm so happy this was recommended to me, the timing is insane... I've been working on videos, stopped working on them because I am incredibly perfectionistic, I even prefer bad grades in school, because I don't give the teachers my essay or my artwork / design (I'm on a Media Design School) than it being imperfect. I've never watched it from that angle- Thank you for posting this video, your editing style is very good and makes me feel comfortable listening to you, very good sound design! Loving the process, not the outcome... That's one thing I won't forget.
This was a good vid. My parents passed away years ago and I made a film when I was at a hard place in my life. That film means the world to me, and I made it only for myself. That's how I go about creating any passion projects going forward. If my goals and heart align with the project, then I'm gonna make it. Working with Sony, a UA-camr I admired, these things are amazing when they first happen. But the only thing that will truly fulfill you as an artist is if you make art that comes from the depths of you. You can't be afraid to let people see who you really are. Not everyone will like what you make, or like you for that matter. As long as you stay true to yourself, and realize that ultimately the process of creating is the goal, you will live a fulfilling creative life. Thanks for reading.
I’m only halfway through this video and your content - on a topic one might say is oversaturated - resonated and hit SO differently for me and with more clarity than it did when I heard it elsewhere, and I am so appreciative of seeing that actual message in action with your video. Thank you for reinforcing that we truly are our (RR? lol) own secret ingredient, and those we are aligned to and who need us, will find and stick with us. 🙌🏼
i was in a confusion that i want to be something but somewhere someone is doing what you are thinking you search you see someone got famous with same idea you are thinking of ,you dissopoint, and you think think an think and you will be in a loop of ideas and not applying in realtime and you dont start. GET INSPIRED BY SOMEONES WORK, BUT DONT APPLY YOUR STORY TO THAT WORK..this video gave some clarity what should I do. THANK YOU
Mood board- interesting:) I liked what you shared. I’m just relaxing now craving for snacks and since I have none, I’m going to turn rice into a snack. I’ll get into sharing at some point. I’m concentrating on walking everyday in groups. I just got back from vacation:) That’s my share for today:) Take care and best wishes:)
Solid video brother, I feel like I've gone through a lot of this in my own head over the last 6 months building my personal brand on Instagram and haven't seen anyone said this as real as you just did. Great advice.
Awesome, love this video! My only question is you mention how veering off the common path a little bit with your own creative unique injection of "you" is great, but at the same time you mention early in the video how most content is the same just delivered differently in a copy cat-esque way. Isn't delivering content with your triangle/three part system and "slightly" modifying something still just delivering content in a slightly different way (aka mostly copying, especially when involving views) ? And how does uploading so frequently or following this framework work for artists who upload less consistently or want to put more time into video to make an exciting moodboard come to life? Great video.
New subscriber! I am a new UA-cam content creator! Listening to this video has made me rethink how I create content on both my new channels! Your information is so valuable! 💙thank-you for sharing your experiences with us!
frist i saw your low viwes on vid and i said its one of the talkers on yt but i found out that your so intresting in a way i want to watch anouthr vid .and i swear your talking about me ,keep it up boss
Great video and it resonates on many levels. I came across a book by Austin Kleon: Steal Like an Artist, which was also very helpful in understanding how to find my voice/style. 😎
There is a saying that came from the Gen-Z generation (my generation) that resonated with me when it comes to self improvement: "...For the love of the game". As a new up and coming gaming content creator that has a tendency to stray away from my perspective to get the much needed analytics to "grow" in a very saturated niche, it is difficult to wrestle between what's practical and what's joyful in the creation process. I'll always choose to express the personality I'm proud of to a community I want to make myself heard and that saying goes that I'll always pivot to the love for the game of creating and being heard. Thanks for the video Landon. This video is as universal as it needed to be and I hope people understand that and continue doing what they do for the love of the game.
17:37 Love the video so far but like... Minecraft? I get what you mean it's just that there's a culture of speedrunning in videogames and in Minecraft especially, beating the game in or under 5 minutes is something a large part of the minecraft community enjoys doing. Anyways, I get what you mean by that analogy, but that sentence just sparked something in me lol
Both meet and violate expectations. Be different but not unrecognisable. Speak their language, but define your own grammar.

These words. Wow.
So refreshing to hear someone advising creators to be unique, instead of following trends. Be a trendsetter, not a trend follower. ✨✨

So, you are the voice that has been in my mind this years. THANK YOU for this
Love itt !!
you need a video editor bro?
I can do a sample video ;)

Among the best videos I’ve seen over the past few years

For the jump, something about the 4:3 ratio is making me already feel nostalgic.

i agree with the majority of what you said dude. this was some great advise fr. create because you want to, not because you feel you have to.
This is the only “how to” that I ressonate with and feel like says something both slightly different(ly) and beautifully. So well described and the visualssss>> (tier top)
this means so much. thank you, andrea
this is a hidden gem. thank you. i hope it isn't hidden for long

@checreates thanks so much! Let me know if you watch the film. It's on my channel. Thank you again!!

Us artists, we needed this king 👑
A wonderful source of inspiration this is , especially as a young , up & coming creative - thank you endlessly for this.
Your philosophy on this is how I conduct my entire life
Amazing!!! A channel like yours deserves much more... Trully inspiring. Keep it up!!!😁
beautifully said! love your perspective on being an artist, and how we can make cool things in a world where everything kinda feels the same.

Incredible video Landon.

Gorgeous Gorgeous video. Cant wait for what's next
really loved this video man. I was wondering how you made your text jitter like that?? Would love any pointers on how to achieve that
I made a similar video two weeks ago on my channel. It's good to hear that other creators share the same view. Good work brother
he watched that video that came up on all our timelines last week. lets give him a round of applause for remaking it
What video was that?

Amazing video man
Wow. I love this 💗
This video is too good.
Great video and it resonates on many levels. I came across a book by Austin Kleon: Steal Like an Artist, which was also very helpful in understanding how to find my voice/style. 😎
This video is absolutely incredible. Do you think the blueprint applies for UA-cam as well, or is it more built for short form content?
thank you, mat -- any platform, any craft, longform/shortform. tailor it to your needs
I loved this! thank you ❤
great video brother ❤
10/10 video had to subscribe🔥
Not bad. Well said 🙏

ah, love the 4:3
I'm really working on improving everyday I don't get much comments or reviews to know where I can improve on 😢
This is incredibly refreshing.
I've always disliked the word "content" .
Brother just curious. Are you watching Dan Koe? Even if not solid advice. Thanks from germany!
Very Dan Koe
hello fellow landon :)
Obsessed, saving, watching for the 3rd time!
Helpful thanks
what books would you recommened
Pea the feary
Man I can’t stand the push to create *content*
What camera do you use?
Where do you get your stock footage?
U look like vintage 😊
