Motivation is a sham. Just start even when you feel like dying. Just keep going even when you hate it. Motivation won't arrive. Only your actions and their results will.

The elephant in the room is that more often than not, there are mental health issues behind being overweight. It’s not a matter of having enough willpower. It’s easy to do hardcore dieting for a few months and lose 10 kg (22lbs). What’s hard is not feeling like this is pointless a few months down the line and going back to overeating as a source of comfort or temporary happiness .

Unironically, you want to get to a place of "I'm not the kind of person who eats chips". Then healthy eating is just your whole personality and it's not a big deal.
As a healthy person who has that exact thought ("I'm healthier than everyone else. I'm not eating the chips or the dessert."), it felt like he was talking directly to me. 😅 Other people think that too?!!
It was hard initially to resist eating the dessert at places because people would sometimes ask, "Don't you want some dessert?" Now everyone knows me as the healthy guy (and I think they've been encouraged by my example and are eating healthier, too!).
I am not better than everyone else

There have been more times than I can count where I have asked to see the nutrition labels of what my friends are eating/drinking, before silently sliding it back. I wouldn’t consider it to be the same, but it’s definitely in a similar headspace.
"I'll just start bulking".. this one hit hard
I prefer the term “cultivating mass”
everytime i PR in the gym I lose all motivation to cut and gain all the desire to turbobulk
i said that then remebered im 27% body fat..
This was me for so many years. I didn't even weigh myself because muscles weigh more than fat so what's the point. Of course I gained about 40 pounds over the years, and it wasn't muscle! :-) It's actually a miracle it was only 40 pounds. Now my problem is that I think - "I'll just not eat later". But that never works.
I just won't eat later is my go to XD
One of the best decisions I made was to eat an apple every day at 9pm. 9pm is when i get hungry, and the time I find myself snacking the most. By forcing myself to eat an apple at that time, the number of calories I cut down on was a huge amount. My original intention wasnt even to replace my snacking with apples, it was just to eat an apple before snacking. By doing that, I naturally started eating less snacks and started craving apples more.
Edit: to clarify, initially, eating apples helped reduce the number of snacks I was eating because I was feeling physically full sooner and thus I stopped snacking sooner. Eventually, apples (almost) completely replaced my nighttime snacking, and most of my snacks in general.
Also note that you can eat an apple whenever you normally snack, not just 9pm. 9pm is just usually when I snack the most. If 3pm is when you get hungry, eat an apple at 3pm!
Edit 2: There is some debate in the replies about the "healthiness" of eating apples, since they are high in sugar. Apples are high in fiber and will help you stop eating sooner. The fiber also aids in digestion, preventing sugar from being absorbed too quickly. If you are still unsure if an apple is a good snack, you should compare it to whatever you would normally eat. 1 apple is probably healthier than a bag of chips, and has less than half as many calories as a serving of oreos. Its also very easy to overeat chips or cookies, but more difficult to overeat apples. Yes, there are healthier snacks than fruit. But if we are being honest, nobody wants to eat broccoli and plain celery sticks as our go to snack. At least apples are a desirable food to eat, and help me stick to a somewhat healthier diet. God knows I would quit eating celery within a day.
If i am being doubly honest, i still sometimes eat unhealthy snacks from time to time, but that is okay. Switching from 3 cookies per day to 3 cookies per week is still a positive improvement.
Amazing idea
Apples are big, so they fill your stomach easily. This can be applied to many fruits such as mangoes, bananas, oranges, you name it. I learned this is actually a technique used by nutriologists to make their patients eat less.

@@shawn-lq4nrbut in the end it’s the calories that are making you fat so counting them is the most efficient and accurate method
As someone who has overcome a harsh eating disorder, I wouldn't recommend completely cutting out foods you love, even if they're considered "unhealthy." Instead, try dedicating 80% of your meal to wholesome, nutritious foods, and save 20% for treats you enjoy. Balance will prevent the stress, tension and food obsession that strict dieting causes. Also, drastic calorie cuts will only stress your body, leading it to try and regain what it's losing. You can't fool it :))
So true! I was looking to see if anyone was going to say something about his fixation on foods being “healthy”, not trying to imply anything about him but that the message could be taken to the extreme in peoples’ minds bc food restriction is a slippery slope
It’s not bad to eat cake or ice cream etc on occasion. But a lot of unhealthy foods are addictive. Like the junk food companies create them that way on purpose (excitotoxins is a rabbit hole). Sugar in and of itself is also addictive. If you can transition to healthier foods, you may find that your sugar cravings will lessen and some things become too sweet for your taste. And I think many people think eating healthy means salads and kale chips, but for me it’s steak and potatoes, pasta, stir fry etc. made from scratch will real ingredients. Skip sodas etc and eat your fresh baked brownies all you want. You won’t even gain weight
Agreed. My ability to stick to a diet drastically improved when I switched from "ok I'll swap a slice of cheesecake for overnight oats" to "ok ill swap a giant slice of cheesecake for a really small slice of cheesecake".
@@Eclyptical Been doing this exact thing! It really does work wonders. Every food/drink in moderation is healthy, whether that be a soda a week or small dessert portions over bigger ones. This has helped me so much, and I've lost 10 pounds in 2 months bc of it.

@@vogeline_ it really depends on the person, some people cant maintian it while for others it suits their lifestyle perfectly. maybe you were fasting too long or maybe you used the wrong time frame for u, or maybe if is just not good for u 🤷♀ that doesnt necessarily mean itll not work for others

I love and agree with this, don't start tomorrow, start right now and if you don't want to start right now you weren't going to start tomorrow anyway.
one thing about a diet is that you kind of need to do it forever. part of longevity is allowing yourself the things you enjoy + things that help you meet your goals. ie: a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a boiled egg for breakfast. or: an actual serving of reese’s puffs, skim milk, and a low calorie greek yogurt. or: two oreos + an apple. by adding foods you can diet for longer. something to consider!

Just buy smaller plates. Easy trick because it literally limits what you can eat and eat when you feel hungry and not bored. Very important to tell this feelings apart.
Ask yourself why you are hungry, is it because you haven't eaten the whole day or you have nothing else to do
@@Samrtfirdeg This also feeds into the reasons listed for snacking. Thirst and hunger send the same signal to the brain, which is why drinking water first is the best option before turning to food. What people tend to think of as thirst is actually the start of dehydration.

I personally always struggled with two things. Not eating the right foods, and not moving around enough. Especially with the profession I'm getting into, there's not much I can do that allows me to move around. For the past year I've been eating nothing but protein, vegetable, and the carbs that are good to eat. I stirred away from fast food and all that crazy processed crap we rely so heavily on.

This video was uncanny. I've been "trying" to lose weight for years, which mostly consisted of making excuses, buying things and not really changing my lifestyle. After years of trial and error, in the past 6 months I've independently learned exactly the same things as shown in this vid and thats the only thing that has finally started to work.
Break the cycle. Make it easy for yourself to form healthy habits. Throw out the junk food. Keep berries and chicken in stock. Get way, wayyy more sleep and most importantly, pay attention to the calories.
I never wanted to count calories and i stubbornly resisted doing it for years out of desperation to avoid attaching guilt or shame to food... but honestly, just do it, it works.
Instead of being sad about how many calories are in a sandwich you can be thrilled at how few calories are in fruit. Find wins, make them convenient. Be consistent more often than not. Don't sabotage yourself when you slip. Just keep going.
If I may, I would also like to give another recommend: take up an active hobby. Ever since I started bouldering and taking up circus lessons, my strength has immensely improved, and though I have yet to lose a lot of weight (I think I need to adjust my diet choices for that), I have felt more healthy and powerful than I have ever before :)
What are circus lessons? sounds interesting!
@@Neobot21 It's classes of a circus school :) Can be any discipline really, but I took general circus training, which teaches the basics of all kinds of a disciplines (think about things like partner acrobatics, aerial, balancing, juggling etc.) Can definitely recommend it!
How fun! I’ll have to check for something like that in my area.
This is the best advice for the exercise side of the equation! An actual active *hobby* makes achieving the true lifestyle change for weight maintenance feasible. And it shifts focus to what matters: health and fitness.
From my own experience, it can help avoid the weight obsession or disordered eating that might come from only focusing on reducing your calories to reduce that scale number. When I started bouldering and doing some climbing specific strength training at the gym I didn't lose weight for months, because I was gaining muscle as fast as I was losing fat. Doing my first pull-up was such a great milestone for both strength and weight goals. Losing more weight came later, and it's so much easier when you have a true specific, functional motivation like "I want to be better at bouldering!" than something more egoistic like "I want to look better" or vague like "I want to be healthier."
I force some cardio for health reasons, but if that was all I had I'd have given up on it years ago. Habits are good, but I never found that motivating enough. Bouldering is my choice, and I favor bodyweight training and sport in general. Bouldering also works for all body types and most fitness levels, there's always easy problems and friendly folks at every gym I've visited at all skill levels. If you don't like traditional gyms (I hate them) and want to be stronger, it's my go-to recommendation.
@@cyclic_infinity this. Outside of your awesome love for bouldering, I also really agree with the "goals"-part, for me my motivation became something like "I want to be able to do some of those acrobatic movements and aerial acrobatics in circus eventually" (I have yet to achieve much of that, but I feel like I'm on the way), and having a concrete goal like that is such a game changer

love this guy, I usually watch for entertainment instead of actually doing anything he says.
but to those who do want to follow this, this is a lot to remember
to make things easier, its usually better to just give a few simple sayings so its easy to understand and easy to remember
I could add a few things given to relatives who were followed by dieteticians :
-Don't skip meals. Seriously don't. Eat well, don't eat less.
-Take things slow, you can loose weight really fast but chances are the moment you finish your diet it'll come right back.
That's because diets aren't something you "finish" that's FAD dieting.
Your diet is what you eat every day. Whatever you are eating to get to a smaller size should be what you continue to eat indefinitely. If you eat the calories to maintain your body at 160lbs then you will gain/lose weight proportionately to how close you are to that weight, and as long as you don't change your diet, you will end up at 160lbs.
If you pick a fad diet that's built to sustain a body at 120lbs then you will get to that point, and if you go back to eating the way you did when you were 300lbs....you will be 300lbs again.
So gonna disagree on the first bullet point about don't skip meals. I've lived my entire life until recently eating 1 meal a day. I always skipped breakfast and often skipped lunch or if I did eat lunch it'd be more like half of a lunch and I would eat the other half at dinner. I've always been a fairly light eater. But point is, everybody is different. My personal body is used to one meal, and spread out throughout the day. I.e. I may order a burger at lunch, eat half of it then at dinner eat the other half.
Recently, however, I have been gaining lots of weight. I'm bigger than I've ever been in my life. And the reason? Now I eat breakfast and dinner or lunch and dinner. Adding a 2nd meal to my diet has seen me grow unhealthy amounts of weight to the point I now need to go back to 1 meal a day.
End of day it's all about calorie intake. So actually, yes, you can skip a meal and end up losing weight if you can commit to it and if you stay eating that way and as long as you get enough nutrition and vitamins. I always mixed things up every day to ensure I got the full range. You can even lose weight eating junk food and the foods you love if you can simple cut back how much of it you eat. True fact. It's just easier said than done for most people. The key is though you have to STAY eating that lower amount. You can't just return to how you were eating before. It has to be a permanent change. Which does get easier over time
@@WildWombats Dude you're eating fucking burgers of course you're going to be fat. Eat actual food three times a day.

Again, not every person is identical. You may need 3 meals. I don't and even to this day, I still can't do 3 meals, and in fact am gaining unhealthy amounts of weight from simply 2 meals. The world is not black and white. One solution does not work for all. I simply cannot eat 3 meals a day and that has nothing to do with any eating disorder. My body just simply cannot without becoming obese at that point. I have never understood how people can eat 3 meals a day, period. My entire family are very light eaters. I think only my grandpa ate 3 meals a day and, lo and behold, he was a pretty big guy. I would argue others are eating too much. It's not like I starved myself. Because I always ate until I was full. I just had a small stomach. 🤷♂️
This guy gives the best advice on the most essential topics in such a simple way with a lot of humor. This is the perfect UA-cam channel. And he’s improving millions of lives.
Honestly, I'm a nutritionist and I've been ripped before and this is exactly how you do it. Great video.
6:12 bro roasted americans in 43 different languages lol
You don't know how much this video meant to me. It's almost summer and I'm suffering to have a lean body. Thank you so much for this video
No bullshit. Straigh to the point and so simplified. Can’t wait to apply these and see the results. Thankyou!
I knew like 90% of this stuff but that's after years of looking into it myself, it's so good to see SO much important information condensed into an easy to watch and understand video, great job mate reckin I'll be sharing this to people in future :)
same, in all my years of being somewhat-into self improvement, this video is THE perfect summary of literally everything i've learnt! this guy's vids are seriously jam packed with sweet succulent juicy knowledge
0:10 no it doesn't matter how much you exercise as long as you have calorie deficit. So it's like 10% knowing how much you're burning every day, 20% diet and 70% actually doing what you said you would. I'm not saying you shouldn't exercise but if you're just doing it for a couple months you'll have to be honest with yourself that you stopped, and adjust your diet so that you don't go into surplus, and for many people it gets too hard so they tend to also quit the diet and get back to their former weight.
bro when he said the part about the loop being screwed over by tiredness, anxiety, boredom, confusion, distractions, all of those are ADHD symptoms, i just coulndnt stop laughing, like when i was going to my therapist and we encountered all of these issues and i had to understand their concepts and fight them, and the video just sums up all of the tips i did to fight these symptoms, the " work from the most obscure location " one just had me crying, i have done that so many times and people do look me weird and i say its fun (: , very good video i love it
TO WOMEN: Instead of doing an immediate dip in calories, lower it slowly. Female bodies prioritize fat in case you get pregnant and therefore will start eating your muscle to preserve fat. You will think that you're losing fat when in fact you are losing muscle! Basically your body panics and wants to make sure that even though you are on an extreme diet, you are still able to get pregnant. Yes I know this sucks.
In the first month, lower you daily calories by ~100 and each month lower it by another 100.
Yes I know it seems like it will be slow but trust me! Source: My boyfriend is a physical therapist (on his way to get his pdh), and a personal trainer.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: Some of you, especially men aren't understanding the point. This post is addressing WOMEN. I know a lot of women specifically who think that reducing their calories drastically is going to make them lose weight. Yes it's a fact that you will lose weight. But the weight you are losing is muscle and not fat. And yes, if you continue doing that you will eventually lose fat too. But as soon as you eat more again once you reach your goal weight, your body will store a lot of fat because it thinks it needs to save it for another emergency.
It's also important to include exercise to your lifestyle and eat healthy. Of course you can't always eat exactly 100 calories less, but it's a good estimate :).
A lot of studies on weight loss are on 5'10, white males which is why a lot of studies can't really be cited. We also need to take into account women's menstrual cycle. All in all, women are way more complicated than men. (Bf's words)
Again, source: BF who is a physical therapist and gets paid to help people, specifically women, lose weight/gain muscle.
Yes! This is 100% true. Unfortunately this gets worse as women age BUT doing it in the method you suggested helps in gaslighting your body into maintaining the muscle and losing the fat. (The difficulty in losing/maintaining muscle and fat is dependent on genes; i had an easier time in weight loss)
Omg thank you so much I hate that 😭
The weight loss between men and women is not that, it's not that deep. Men have more muscle which increases calorie need so we have more of a "buffer" Women and Men diet plans by professionals are 99% the same.
@@HXRDWIREDGaming what's your source? I'd like to see some studies. Do you have a degree?
@athena5710 a good study to read to start is nih.gov article PMC6282840 which is a study on diabetes prevention. and study PMC5313337 which directly addresses my comment.
my comment that the plans are 99% the same is verified by many in the field as well as the simple notion that your body doesn't think it's gonna get pregnant. at all. it doesn't work like that. bodies are reactive. muscle is the sheer defining factor of calories burned sedentary.
also when you assume people have a slow metabolism (fat) you are wrong. studies (multi) found that fat people have a fast metabolism and you can change your metabolism by just gaining muscle.
the top comment above us is exactly why people are not trusting of imperical testing methods because "it's not what they've seen or agree with" even though you can test it yourself and repeat it. it's quite the problem and the same source as the vaccine hysteria.
(last source on metabolism was 21893 from Cleveland clinic)
essentially fast and slow metabolism is a myth and it's solely based off muscle mass and this is why women have a harder time. physically it is true to an extent due to the size of the person and even matching people can see differences and that's where this comes from.
I encourage everyone to learn to read actual studies and not someone's footnotes. this can help broaden the understanding of life In general and show you that the stupidest person you know is smarter than 50% of people.
best!
I have to say... As a woman with PCOS I was *actually* shocked to see it mentioned in this video. Like, it affects appx 10% of women yet nobody seems to know what it is.
I liked this video a lot, even without that though. Thank you for the inspiration! Now I guess I have a day to write it into a smart goal and go from there. :)
I didn't realize PCOS was so rare. It seems that many of the health channels I watch frequently discuss it, the pathology, and how to reverse/ improve it. Such as kendberrymd, Sten Ekberg, Kelly Hogan, Dr Robert Kiltz.
@@TagiukGold 10% is *extremely significant* not rare. How many health conditions can you name that affect 1 in 10 people? But hey god forbid a woman make a single comment without a man swooping in to correct her, especially when it comes to her own health.
@jatnip I’m not sure what tone you read his comment in, but where did you read him correcting her? Why did the fact that he thinks of 1/10 as being more rare than he would expect mean he’s correcting her? Or that he’s wrong to think so? Be nicer
@@emilys1418 so eager to be picked huh? think more critically and learn to recognize a condescending, diminishing tone from men. the original comment was talking about how common PCOS is and how no one is talking about it and this dude says it’s both rare and very talked about. Men like this aren’t owed niceties for being passive aggressive but i’m sure he approves of you now so mission accomplished right?
@@jatnip the only person with a condescending tone here is you. Why does defending a random guy I don’t know make me a pick me? Again, be nicer ❤️
Whoa whoa don't eat 800 calories a day. 1200-1300 is the minimum healthy amount for most people.
800 calories is feasible short term for some people (under medical supervision)
I think he meant breakfast
"Even tho messing up wasnt part of the plan but giving up was never part of the plan" thank you!
Hey man I love your straight forward video production style. Reminds me of casually explained. A cool video would be “Making a movie is easy actually”. Thanks
I've just started working out 5 months ago, and i've got little progress on my body. I realized my diet is just so bad that's why my gains are so minimal. I guess i gotta sleep and eat more. This video is very informational and great!
Absolutely fantastic video. I watched it all the way without stopping. Straight to the point, concise, easy to understand. amazing work
Video Idea: "Living a happy and fullfilling life, is actually easy"
Good video. I would only suggest that you prioritize walking over high intensity cardio. Because the latter usually makes you overcompensate for the loss of glucose by eating anxiously throughout the rest of the day. Walking doesn't do that, it fuels primarily from fat and just a bit of glucose, so it doesn't make you super hungry. Not everyone has two hours to spend walking a day, though. Zone 2 cardio is also key if you have the time for it.
9:20 - This part was eye-opening! You really changed my perspective.
ive been doing weeks/months of weight loss research and just now came across this video. bro really covered it all
lifting weights and 0 cardio helped me burn fat and gain muscle within a month. Made my appetite skyrocket and still lost weight
I'm subscribing and I expect "Tax evasion is easy, actually" before the next tax season
The last sentence in the end is the best sentence you could ever end this video with.
Only thing to add is that bacteria in your stomach can make a big difference!
So long term healthy eating makes you heathier even if you eat unhealthy later!
It's like a garden, take good care of it now so you will need to stress about it less later. *your life also depends on this garden*
The last sentence 😂
It is stupid how well this video summarizes literally everything there is to know in order to be successful in weight loss - and all that in 13 minutes. Take my like and go make some more videos.
i feel like such a video like this should pop up on my recommended page every week so I get a fresh boost of motivation
this is actually such a good video. like its positive and realistic, and i especially appreciated the mention of conditions that make it difficult to lose weight. so many fatphobic people just don’t understand that every body is different. our body chemistry is SO unique, and progress looks unique on different individuals. again, this is such a positive explanation. its nice to see good nutritional health content.
"even tho messing up wasn't part of the plan, giving up was never part of the plan"
Make a video called “Becoming a UA-camr is easy actually” I think it would be easy, actually to make, considering you became huge after barely any time and videos.
A great tip is to make quality content and stop blaming the algorithm ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Listen to critics/ask for critique and adjust
Also I should add: to upload regularly, work hard, the ones who work hard with good quality (good research etc) and frequent uploads, r the ones who succeed.
@@jaybeanzx I used to believe in that but I see well researched videos, well made thumbnails and hours of work put-into having thousands less views than, say, a random new channel with literally zero subscribers, automatic screenshot thumbnail, no description and no tags.
@@NathComH Oh, Ig there’s exceptions, but generally there’s truth in it. There’s ppl who could grow if they focused on their quality and stop blaming the algorithm.
@@jaybeanzx have you seen shorts creators? they do a greenscreen video and they literally get millions of views. Is that not the also the algorithm fault? i say its not a one sided thing that its everybody fault about their interested and interacting with it, youtube not doing anything about it so I agree with your words but I say its too much of one argument on one one thing
The real answer may be to have genuine ideas that make you put in the effort to post it rather than having half-baked ideas that only sound good in ur head (like what I generally do)
That was just step zero now that I think about it
I lost 40kg in 4 months. It‘s not hard, if you wanna do it. Also stopped smoking from one day to another, and so far I‘m sober since a month now - not planning to go back anytime soon. If you REALLY wanna change your life, it‘s running on it‘s own.
The problem is that most people complain, but they‘re actually not willing to change.
What sort of workouts did you do? I am not a fan of the gym, but i love running. Is that enough?
@@navajyoth814 Running is good, but depending on the weight it could also become a problem for the ankles and knees. I rode my bicycle every single day and did some situps afterwards, besides most important thing is the food you eat - I primarily ate meat all the way through and a big of fruits.
40 kgs in 4 months? That's about 2,5 kilos per week, which is a really fast pace, since most doctors recommend not exceeding 1 kilogram per week.
How do you manage to keep it that way, since even this video says that the faster you lose weight, the harder it is to maintain?
@@nob2243 Honestly I never had trouble doing it or keeping that weight. But then again, I also started to train in the gym as I started to play rugby. If you keep going you shouldn‘t have a problem keeping your weight - just take care of the bad habits. Especially alcohol.
@@afa1515 Ah, I see. So you kinda went into overdrive with it, so to speak.
I'd also love to hit the gym or play some sports, but I have a job that requires me to wake up at ungodly hours early in the morning. 😭And then I feel sleepy during the rest of the day. I tried going to bed early but that just doesn't work for me - I prefer to going to sleep and wake up later, 'cause that's how my circadian rhythm works.
Also, the alcohol bit is very true, I was surprised to learn how caloric beer is. I don't drink that much to begin with, but it's best to stick to occasional drink with friends. Or even keep drinking tea just for the company and say I'm on a detox or practicing abstinence, and if they don't like it... well, it's their problem 😆
great video, my only mention is to be careful of a lot of the "zero sugar" and "low fat" replacement products -- they often contain artificial sweeteners and substitutes that can wreak havoc on your metabolism and digestive system. It's best to generally stick to the produce and butcher sections of your grocery store as much as possible. It's honestly where all of the actually good food comes from anyways
I will say my only disagreement with this is not making your food so very tasty. Imo, eating a wholesome, healthy meal that you still made taste amazing with low-cal/no-cal sauces and toppings makes you even more satisfied and gets you in the whole mindset of 'omg dieting is so easy this is fire food.' Credits: did all of these things plus ate untasty, bland food and was irritable, depressed, and dissatisfied with life
Got some recipes, ideas?
6:40 I laughed so hard bro I didn‘t expect that at all 😭😭😭
I am 40lbs into my wl journey and have been in an absolute FUNK trying to pick back up with my deficit and gym routine. this gave me the motivation i need. thanks bro
This video was motivating for me. I switched to eating oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast, I’m slowly decreasing my snacks, and I have started exercising more. Thank you for making this video. :)
i’ve always wanted to run in the morning and seeing it broken down in little steps like this is the best advice ive gotten so far. keep up the amazing content man.
My advice is telling people close to you your goal! After many attempts to try to lose weight I started as a joke telling everyone "I can't eat any of that, I'm on a diet" I repeat it so much as a joke one day that I started to become so aware of my eating haha, just kept telling myself "I can't eat this I'm on a diet" while laughing, and everyone around me would tell me the same
make a video on how to gain weight
Watch thw video in reverse
Eat.
@@rudyrudy7823i laughed to hard at this XD
Eat more food and weight lift
think of the opposite of what he said
I think the last time this guy uploaded something he was with less than 50k subs, and now is above 400k. Huge congrats dude.
I’ve found for myself the best way to lose weight without tracking calories has been making big bowl of tasty salads (lots of onion, garlic, olives and feta) that I eat during my feeding window, or just eat protein until I feel full.
After few weeks I stop thinking about cravings.
As someone who has lost 100 plus pounds, all of this is pretty much what I tell people when they ask me how to lose weight themselves
THE FACT THAT I ACTUALLY NEED THIS RN, MY BRAIN NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND IN THE SIMPLEST WAY POSSIBLE 💀
The majority is mentality and commitment. Staying loyal to the program even when you come up with so many reasons give up on it. Your end goal has to be worth more than a temporary pleasure.
I once lost 30 kgs in 3 months, or 10 kgs every month for 3 months straight. I was overweight, depressed, tired of life and decided to make a change. I only ate oatmeal for those 3 months. 1/2 glass of oats boiled in 1 glass of water = 1 bowl of oatmeal (150-180 kcal). No sweeteners or fruits added, it tasted like shit. Rinse and repeat 4-5 times a day (I stayed below 1000 kcal every day) + stay active and you WILL lose fat faster than you can say oatmeal! Everybody said I was crazy to do it and that it was unhealthy (it is VERY unhealthy, even life-threatening), but I did it anyway. I suffered no health issues and I've never regained a single kg (I eat normal and it's been 7-8 years - tho I've become super aware of what I eat, count kcal and do try to avoid processed carbs). It's amazing what you can do with a little bit of willpower.
Sleep is super important during weight loss. So is staying active (walking every day is enough). And yes, you can use zero-calorie sodas to your advantage, but be aware they do contain other ingredients that do affect you and your weight loss. Drink only Coke Zero for a month vs drink only water and tell me there's no difference. There is a BIG difference.
Every word of this story is true. While I wouldn't recommend doing what I did, I do believe that whatever choices you make to lose weight, replacing some of your meals with oatmeal will do wonders for your weight loss. Once in a while, I did replace oatmeal with a healthy chicken or fish dish, but 99% of the time I did only eat oatmeal (boiled in water and not milk, every kcal counts).
Eating only oatmeal on a diet - it is one of the worst advice you can give. It creates glucose spikes and terrible cravings and it almost has no protein in it. You are lucky you had no consequence (or had not you)?
Your channel is so good dude. The goofy looking style would make you think that it's all shitposting, but you actually do an amazing job of compiling a lot of high quality advice into a short video. Well done yet again!!
What he said about willpower is so true, I can't control myself snacking but I can control myself to not buy the snacks.
I knew most of these things, but seeing them in a pleasant video with simple graphics and nice full lists really makes them memorable. Great video.
The biggest inspiration in this video, for me, is that I knew all of this and was pretty much nodding the whole time. I have gained some weight again lately and I am a point in my life that i have a good enough mental to go "well then lets just work on it thats all fine its a health thing it doesnt define your actual value" and knowing I really do know how is pretty great inspo. I hope I will remember to come back here real soon when I am doing better and have some good results. Thanks for the great video; cheers!
Literally the best advice ever without asking us to subscribe or buy a course.
For me, cravings are my biggest struggle. Usually when I'm looking for weight loss advice, people are always giving advice on how to fulfill hunger. But im usually not even hungry. I just chronically crave crap! The cravings are usually so intense, not answering to them gives me anxiety. Ive tried keeping myself busy, cutting carbs, raising fat and protein, etc. There has to be SOMETHING we can do to get rid of the cravings.
It's partially 2 things, sugar/carb cravings, or your not eating nutritionally balanced meals. If it isn't sugar or carbs your body is craving something it needs. Of course that varies from person to person
The first time I actually know something about the topic
I struggle with sleeping and tiredness. I can sleep 4, 8 or 16 hours and I'm still feeling groggy thorought the day. I can't go a day without a nap. I don't know if it's the food, the daily routine, the people I'm surrounded with, the mental health or whatever, but I just can't seem to stop being tired. If I lay down, I'll start feeling sleepy and go nap. Maybe it's the lack of exercise, but I just can't seem to be able to motivate myself to stick to anything. I make an exercise routine, I do it once or twice and I either forget about it or start avoiding and justifying it subconsciously. If you have some spare time, would you mind doing a video about how to stay motivated or how to stop being tired? If you haven't already:)
I am so thankful for your video! I lost 8.5 kg in two months. Currently i am planning to get my ideal weight of 70 kg. Thank you so much 😊
2:32 “F**k a cheat day, you’ve been cheating your whole life” is what I say to myself and it puts things into perspective
Also a good idea is 'disipline is easy, actually'
What a perfect, no-nonsense video for weight loss. Subscribed 💯
I don't really think "losing weight" is necessary. Your body wants to store energy, that's what weight is. That being said, it is important to make sure to eat things that are nutritive. Another thing, I've noticed is that muscles actually make me weigh more, 'cause muscles are heavier, also, when you exercise, you need extra food. Overall, food is good, as long as you eat nutritively.
