The biggest problem you missed was the lack of a specific BACK BUTTON.
for each app you have to do different things to go back.

      @AI-Creations-LLC 3 місяці тому +19

Another thing I like is the recent apps button because I can just press the button and get to all the apps that I had open. Another thing I don't like about Apple phones nowadays is the gesture navigation. It is slow 😞 the last thing I don't like about iPhones is changing the settings. You can't change settings from within an app. You have to go to the settings page to change settings in the settings app for specific apps.

Its give or take, ios system controls are more consistent, but the back button is more fragmented. They would have to define exactly what the button will do, which will still vary a bit

@@tutacat I disagree when I press the back button on android it goes back. When I press home it goes home. When I press the app drawer it takes me to the app drawer. It's extremely consistent. Also android now has gesture navigation too.

Or for people who want a phone that just works.
I'm having a lot of bugs with my 7 Pro.
The most annoying is "Android system can't be loaded"
      1) try restart over and over again, good luck it doesn't show after 10 times

Hello Ahmed Ibrahim, First of all, thank you for the brilliant video! It is precisely for these reasons that I parted with my iPhone. I've been with Android for a long time and have always used an iPhone on the side, but the operation of the iPhone just annoyed me. The whole system is way too convoluted and the worst thing about it is the go back which I love so much on Android. This is a disaster for the iPhone. It's a pity that Apple hasn't changed its system in such a way that it is the same as Android in terms of operation. I will only buy an iPhone again when its software is finally on the same level as Android. Hello from Berlin

ios is more of eye candy than a functional operating system. Atleast more so in the past decade, Apple is now bringing more features each year and you can tell its taking a toll on the stability of ios with ios16 as a case study. Its definitely not an easy feat (android devs deserve some credit). In short, Apple paid more attention to how ios looks than how it worked for users until recently.
Android on the other hand, started as a super functional operating system and in the past few years, has been getting more attention to UI design.
And for some of us, it just makes more sense to use android because of how it fits our needs.

I agree it's not a discussion of what's better (to each their own) but what one's lived experience and preference is. I appreciate your telling about your preferred UX (in a very well-done and informative video) even if that is for the Android OS. Nice video! I try to explain to my friends about how good notification handling is on Android, but find I am an outlier with volume of emails and other communication streams I am keeping track of throughout a workday. If you are someone who is a "phone go brrr" type user, much of this stuff doesn't seem important. But for someone like yourself and others who use it has a true communications tool, it does matter.
Also, the iOS alarm volume is buried in their Health App sleep schedule setup (which also appears at the top of the alarms section in the clock app), so you get just the one alarm w/ independent volume control. I don't know why Apple does it like that, it couldn't possibly be that they want to collect data on your sleeping habits lol (yes, Google does this too, if you let them, but at least they give separate alarm volume if you want it).
I flip between Pixel and iPhone. The only reason I tried iOS again is that I ended up buying a MacBook Pro which I really like, and since some of my younger clients text me rather than Slack, email or Google Chat, maybe I can see if it makes things easier. At least 2 people congratulated me on no longer having green text bubbles (and those same people said something again when I went back to Pixel). Honestly the iMessage thing is okay but it is nothing really special. Apple is a master at addicting users and creating a "no-questions-asked" user base. Apple also seems to try super hard to make the animations and haptics as sticky as possible, adding to this Candy Crush like experience on the device. It's weird how much I noticed it when I switched back to my Pixel after a just a few months.

But because of how the files app on ios is partitioned and has so basic features, you need to share the same file to a third party file manager. The most basic reason for choosing Android is that you can just connect your phone to a Windows laptop or PC with a USB cable, see all the folders, and drag files across in both directions, download video you've taken, upload a movie to watch on a long train ride.
Whenever I ask about file transfer at my local Apple store they start blathering on about connecting to iTunes ... just to transfer a photo I've taken !

few correction, you can access many setting right from camera and you don't need to go to settings, I think 95% of settings are there in camera app, but they are hidden (not good ux I agree). secondly neither you have to type long addresses nor you have write it in your notes, you can create shortcuts in keyboard settings such that when you type adrs -> it becomes your full address.

I change phones or change their stock rom pretty frequently and when I change to daily drive a phone (or a rom) (mostly it's Android) I would have to change some settings like eye comfort (reading mode or blue light in some OS), sounds and notifications for apps, what should be shown in the lockscreen, camera settings and launchers. Basically I think these apple people thought to provide settings in one place. iPhones are for casual users.

First of all I love your video, I've used both iPHONE and android but on the 1:11 typing experience you can use keyboard shortcuts with your important information to be pasted as soon as you type the shortcut like address or phone number by typing the shortcut, also its a little bit concerning to me to have important information on my clipboard specially now a days when a lot of apps are always checking what you have on your clipboard as soon as you open them, I know you can delete it but for me is more convenient and safe to not have important info on my clipboard and just type a keyboard shortcut and it will be paste it on my text automatically leaving it out of reach of intrusive apps.
2:23 on the second issue about copying and sharing images you can just drag the photo from the google images site on the app or the gallery without saving it, also want to mark up? just take a screenshot and mark it then click done - copy and delete and you will be able to share it without saving it like you did in the video.
4:15 third you can simply copy the numbers or text from the image on the iPHONE and paste them on your calculator app, you can translate, web search and do a lot of things just like using google lens on android.
5:40 this is true because zoom is a third party app but you can get the same features using facetime, but yes apple gatekeeps those features so it forces you and your friends to use facetime instead of other app and buy iphones.
8:27 this fully depends on what android phone you're using android comes in so many different flavors and some of those copy the pull down action exactly as iphones.
10:40 on the home screen I could not agree lack of customization
15:59 the camera, yes is lacking settings but you can change video resolution, fps, photo aspect ratio, raw and other settings directly from the camera app no need to goo all the way into settings like you show on your video.
I think many android users make the mistake of getting into iOS thinking it will work the same as what they're used to, of course things are going to be done differently that's why they're different systems, is also the same mistake apple users make when buying a windows pc or an android, people just don't want to learn a new OS and rather stay to what they're familiar to.
All operating systems are good you just have to learn how to use them and use those tools accordingly without judgmental thinking.
I got here because of your video on how big youtubers are biased, please don't make the same mistake with android and keep going with the great work!
congrats on this video and I hope to see you grow more in this platform.

On my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and maybe other androids as well, you can press and hold on an app icon and it will show a list of quick actions you can choose without even opening the app first. It doesn't have options every app, but the ones that do work are very convenient. One app I open a lot for a specific action is the Walmart app. Without opening it, I hold on the app icon and it shows a list of actions, and one of them is the scanner, and that's exactly what I need. I use it frequently when I'm looking at a product at Walmart but can't find the price. I select that scanner option, and the app opens and jumps right to the scanner immediately. I doubt this is possible on an iPhone. Also, I've used android since 2012, 12 years now, and have never used an iPhone. Learning about the severe lack of convenience on iPhone, I'll probably never even consider switching to one any time soon.

    iOS is for old people
    - Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, Autorotation, Auto brightness, Screen Dim - all these are cumbersome to toggle on a daily basis [actually On and Off not just pause them]
    - No modularity in volume panel, either silent or ring. A dedicated vibration mode is a solid miss in iOS
    - transferring files to PC is a hassle
    - All call history is under phone app, which is confusing to say the least
    - notification swipe down pauses everything that you are doing, including ongoing video call in pip
    - dumbest calculator app in the history
    - restarting phone is unnecessarily complicated if the phone has frozen
    - app store is slow af (google cache servers around the world are way faster)
    - animations are smooth but slow af compared to android
-Doesn't do background task, apps have to be open for syncing or downloading (Gdrive, Spotify) in iOS
    - auto rotation is more accessible in Android 12,13
    - Gboard works better in Android (regional language)
    - gesture navigation in Android is easier, faster and more accessible
    - iOS emojis are 🗑
    - certain budget phone data plans are straight up not available for iOS in specific countries

It only works if you stare at that screen. (And this with all background apps turned on, without battery saving.) There are many examples of this type in IOS, if you send a WhatsApp in a parking lot (without coverage) in android it will be sent when the coverage returns, in IOS this does not happen, the message does not "wait" until it can be sent.
