I like this video topic idea its very upbeat. 5 healthy habits I am most addicted to is probably drinking green tea, stretching, journaling (too), taking walks, and listening to calming music.

Wow, you just made me realize all the things I use to take for granted when I joined the military 25 years ago.
Cold shower, movement, and hiking - had no choice. Also, didn’t see the benefit. Just felt the inconvenience.
Writing letters to loved ones everyday because the World Wide Web/internet was only for the rich.
It would take 20 years for me to figure out all those things is what kept me out of depression.

Agree with the point about exercise potentially becoming addictive to the point of being harmful. I used to overtrain a lot and i'd go through these periods of trying super hard every workout, but not feeling healthy or performing better. It's a good thing to listen to your body, recognise the feelings of overdoing it, and resting or taking it easy instead.

Great vid Ana, I've recently been trying to have more cold showers, only problem is I live in an extremely hot country, so the water literally can't get that cold this time of the year. I've also started working out consistently for a good while now and I'm proud about it. But this vid definitely reminded me I need to get a massage lol, and journaling just as the Stoics did is something I should get on. How I wish I could go hiking, but sadly it's just not a thing in my country, I live on a small, arid, really hot island, so there really isn't anything in the way of hiking trails or even sights to enjoy like forests, rivers, mountains, cuz none of those exist here. It's why I took a job which will hopefully involve me moving abroad in a few years time lmao, I hope to be posted to a country where I actually CAN live out my dream of going hiking every weekend.

Would you consider making a video for people who are interested in doing their masters in psychology? Like what we would the academics look like? What would we require to do during the course like internship, research paper, etc?

Yes yes yes on the cold showers, when I’m with family in rural Baja Mexico I love taking cold showers in the summer, they always say taking hot showers makes you hot afterward but cold showers take away the heat which is essential when it’s 90° + everyday and there is no A/c

When it comes to a warm bath, I find it very helpful when I’m sore from working out or other body pains. Otherwise, cold showers are amazing ✨

We’re so similar in ways! Thanks for all your wisdom! I came to loving giving massages after falling in love with getting them/not getting them for the past 10 years. With working out too much or too little, chronic pains, knots, issues, accidents, injuries.. It helps to work it all out! There’s so many different techniques and intuitive ways of massaging so it can be fun and insightful, learning as you go, with different bodies, or just one, where it’s safe! It’s good for me mentally and physically! Unfortunately there’s the sexual aspect to it unless you get licensed so it can be difficult finding a supportive partner or participants for it.. keeping it professional. But I found a table at a yard sale this week for $20 so at least I can see if it’s something I’d want to do, outside of the cozy bed! I highly recommend getting a table though.. even just for a nap- it’s surprisingly comfortable putting your head in the rest and zonking.. I didn’t expect to be that cozy, falling asleep in it one night after joking about it! Lol! Anyway.. Would be better with a massage, where you don’t have to get up and drive home after!! 😁 I’m glad you mention the fresh air of hiking- some don’t understand, there’s a difference and you can feel/smell/need it!

i dont think im in the right place for this video, honestly i am completely shocked by anybody who is able to do any of this even remotely consistently. i can't even brush my teeth or get out of bed most days let alone let another person touch me. i hope i will one day be in a place where this feels achievable but for now wow this just made me feel so inadequate

I’d say addiction is not a mindful connotation. Obsessed with anything pervades into other areas. Trying to be kind and also be insightful is a hard job. People bring many preconceptions to any presentation of advice. Eg: Journaling is a way (pen/paper not digitally) to connect what’s in the mind to paper and sometimes back again through re-reading. Some people use them as calendars and ways to quantify and compare. Historical events, emotional attachments and when they were formed and fleshing out emotions through practical rote and it allows some to focus their thoughts and feelings. It can help with to-do lists and planning. Conversely being and doing, in the now, can be more important than comparing the journaling of a lifetime. Journaling can also be done to excess. Ana, 99/100 you get all the angles. The disclaimer covers things. But… how many people have the propensity for attention and looking at the full context these days? Best regards!

@@beatrizremigio9192 hmmm.... When I've lived there I essentially never left the city. But having been spoiled by a lot of other time in spectacular natural environments I can't imagine what there is to see in that area. Give me a clue? I may need to spend some time there in the future.
