I've used many Chinese tires and the only thing that I find them lacking in is tread life. However, i only put 10,000km per year on my car. Having said that, the ride quality and performance was always fine. I've never had a problem with grip in rain or snow. I currently have Chinese summer tires and Chinese winter tires. It's far more dangerous to drive like a lunatic on expensive tires than to drive responsibly on cheap tires.

My Civic Si came with fresh General tires when I bought it as a used car. First thing I thought was I’m going to order some Yokos or Michelins asap. Did some research and realized General is the same as Continental. After some months of city driving with a bit of spirited drives here and there, they’ve been great tires for daily use! Great in the rain and light snow too. If anybody is looking at “cheap” tires for daily driving I’d recommend General 100%. I now have Continental Extreme Contacts on the way and cannot wait to feel the difference.

Nearly every tire „grips“ on dry surface and it’s not a racecar so i don‘t think some pilot sports would make any difference to my cheap nankangs. Good video tho👍🏼

I’ve had person experience with 3 A/S tires and 2 Summer tires. Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring, Goodyear Integrity, and Yokohama Advan Sport A/S. The Yoko’s were the most expensive A/S I’ve purchased @ $176/tire, as the other two were both sub $100/tire, all sets brand new. I never noticed much noise with the Uniroyals or Goodyears, but the belts shifted on the Goodyears after about 10k miles, they both also would slip in the rain when leaving from a stop. The Yoko’s however never gave/give me any issues in the rain, even in the snow they never really slip unless it’s covered in ice. The Summer tires were Nitto NT555 G2’s and Bridgestone Potenza’s, $100 difference per tire. I was constantly breaking traction in the NT555’s through multiple gears and couldn’t feel like I could push the car in the corners. I mounted the Potenza’s and the car hooks really well, no real issues under load, stays planted very well in the corners

I owned a N/A 2014 VW Jetta and drove around on cheap all season tires and thought they were great until I purchased my 2020 civic SI with the summer tire package. Bruh my life was changed lol. I then went to a set of Yokohama tires the following summer and now I’m looking to try yet another brand and even get some lighter wheels. 😁

You explained nothing, because no comparison, only opinions. “Cheap” means how much spent or make and design of tire? I have both $1000 set and $300 set, both do similar jobs, one was on sale. So they aren’t fair comparison but I could make sales by keeping it vague…..

If you're looking for a used AWD car like subaru or audi then mismatched tyres and not evenly worn are huge red flags. with most AWD cars will mention in the manual that you need to replace all 4 at the same time. You can't do 2 at a time to save money like RWD or FWD

Yeah they do have a bit more road noise as they are all seasons of course, but the performance of em is surprisingly awesome. Well, CST is a subbrand from MAXXIS, so no wonder they know a thing or two about making tires. Didnt know that until now :D
