I always recommend to research any tyres before you buy, check multiple reviews and gain information from trusted sellers.
This will always give you a good range of options to suit your needs.
As always thanks for watching and please hit that 👍

I have used Winrun R330 tyres, cheap tyres but perform very well compared to Bridgestone I have also used on my 2016 Toyota Camry. In my experience this budget tyre is the best. One thing I have noticed is better fuel mileage on the Winrun. I have used 215 55 17 & also 235 45 18 sizes with similar experiences in dry & wet grip. The cheaper tyres fall down when people drive them on performance cars, they have lower grip no doubt so if you drive like a normal person obeying speed limits & driving to conditions the cheaper tyres are fine. If you put them on high power cars & drive like you stole it they don’t perform like a Pilot Sport 4S. Just because Einrun makes a supercar sized low profile tyre doesn’t mean it’s a performance tyre. Keep your expectations in check & drive accordingly & you will be happy with the Winrun or a similar China tyre purchase.

Nice to see a tyre safety video not being pushed by a sponsor. Agree with your closing words about buying what is within your price point, meaning many have no choice but to buy budget. Just like Ireland, living in the UK, conditions can change from wet to dry in the blink of an eye. Been driving 30 years and driving in a way to adjust to conditions means I have never come close to leaving the road in the rain, regardless of tyres used. Unlike the guy I gave a lift one day after getting out his car - 30 metres into a field

Michelin Primacy 4 for me, great grip on the wet and dry, low noise compared to cheaper brands I have tried. And I have done about 35k miles and still going, about 1.8-2.2mm tread left so will be changing them soon.

I just bought 4 new tyres in February for my car as when I bought it, it had four different tyres and all of them were part worns 😬
I ended up going with four Kumho Ecowing ES31 tyres, definitely not premium but still very good rubber that I can reccomend.

What I hate about tire reviews is that no one ever explains differences between a premium tires and trash brand tires. Send that a Goodyear is better than a hankook or a Dunlop it's better than a Cooper means nothing but sales talk. There's no real standard for telling which tire is better than other tire other than word of mouth BS tests, and advertisements. I for example have had terrible luck with Michelin, but according to all the reviews Michelin tires are gold. I personally wouldn't use a Michelin tire as a planter, not worth burning in a boiler. Yet I've had a set of nankang Chinese specials on my mustang for 5 years. No wear issues no bulging great and wet weather etc. If these tests and standards are so vague they are practically useless. Speed ratings should be standardized, tire compounds should be standardized brake performance should be standardized, it isn't that hard. Until that time all these tire reviews boils down to just word of mouth and whatever brand somebody wants wants to promote. Completely useless

Most of tire burst are not from the tire itself.. It's from the valve stem it develops cracks overtime and leaks once the tire deflate while rolling it will ripped off the tire that looks like a tire burst... I prefer to replace the valve once in a year specifically during summer and i found out that not all valve stem are same material some having poor quality. Go for epdm rubber material valve stem.

Part worns are a waste of time, and it's not just how much tread you have to rate the tyre on, theirs other things to consider that is not always visible to the naked eye, so as a customer, you may feel your getting a good deal, £30 a tyre, quite a bit of tread left but theirs also the structure of that tyre to worry about, have they been run flat or jammed into a curb? These things break tyres down pretty quick and you could find yourself buying 2-3 tyres per year per wheel, that's £90 per wheel to drive your much loved car with uneven, different speed rated and different branded tyres.

Just DON'T get Michelin Primacy 4+'s - they are absolutely terrible. Wore out to illegal in 8,700 miles, and aqua-planed in the wet to point that they nearly killed me at 60mph on motorway. Not sure that I truly believe that super premium tyres are actually better than budgets although lately I have been wasting my money on expensive tyres, which seem to perform worse than the budgets that I used to buy.

Your right about premium not lasting longer had Bridgestones Conti hankook love the grip and they grip to the end but wear is average people would want to do there homework before buying budgets massive differences in quality and you would be paying the same price for them

My thought is, the tires you see with deformed tire bodies and separated tread and the like are old. If you are driving only 6000 miles a year, maybe you get a cheaper tire with a lower treadwear rating and drive it only for three or four years. In one case I saw some very high price premium tires fail simply because they were eight years old already even though they had a lot of tread left. I imagine driving very aggressively could stress the tire body too. Radial tires have been standard for more than 40 years now. Even cheap radials will perform very well on dry roads, which means you can corner like a mad dog with any tire. But expect to have higher rates of tire failure. Maniac driving does to every mechanical part of a vehicle what maniac living does to your body.

I had a Continental premiumcontact2 last for 6 years and 60,000 miles before I replaced it and even then it did have another 3-4k of legal life left in it and the sidewalls were still good almost no visible cracking at all and it had a nail patched as well. Very good long lasting tyre and still gripped really well right down to the end of its life. Won't get that kind of life out of a cheaper tyre.

    • @anonymike8280
      @anonymike8280 Рік тому

@@gravemind6536 That's absolutely true. I have a 1990s-era compact that I was using for daily driving a couple of years ago. I need one tire and founld on near new and mounted in the self service salvage yard. Later, I need one more tire and grabbed on that was literally new off the sale rack at the yard. The second tire was, it turned out exactly the same tire brand as the first. The first one had used about 50 percent of the tread in 12,000 miles. That's typical for so-called 40,000 mile tire.
The ones I have now on a different vehicle are a private label version of a premium tire. Got them cheap because they were a discontinued line. These have used about 30 percent of the tread at most in about 13,000 miles. We have rough road surfaces where I live.

Never had cheaper tires last longer than any expensive tire ...... so I dont know about that. I get twice or three times as long out of michillen for my wife's car who has 100k miles and still decent tread and I had 70k on my nitto ridge grapplers ... when we were broke no cheap tires made it past 30k and usually had put of round issues or just wear horribly because the compound sucked. But he means expensive race tires dosnt mean they will last as long but I disagree. If you had a cheap tires on the Honda type r they wouldn't last longer and you would destroy them or your car because they arnt made for that driving style. Its hard to justify say 1600 for some tires but those 800 dollar tires might last half as long but you also can just buy another set . But in the long run if you can I say name brand but do research on them.

The difference is those budget tyres are total crap long before they're actually worn out at sub 3mm tread the performance takes a deep dive on what was already poor performance and the premium tyres still grip well right up to their legal limit.
