We need vote of incompetence. Simple as that. The problem is not in car emissions or Euro ratings. Problem is in bad road traffic management, which is main problem here. It creates traffic jams. I wonder at what speeds is g/km calculated? If you do 1 km distance at 50km/h and 5km/h it is obvious second one will pollute 10 times more because it takes engine to run ten times longer. He keep repeating businesses he have consulted. But do we know what businesses did he consult with, is any list available? I can guaranty he consulted with car manufacturers and sales, ANPR businesses or businesses who will have good bait of new stealth tax. Expansion area will increase 18 times from existing ULEZ. Which requires massive CCTV and ANPR infrastructure to see every single road entering ULEZ. It will cost a lot, and it will come of our taxes. So instead reducing something, he only increase. Cost, charge and penalties, this is what we getting. No air pollution reduction what's so ever. And all that bullshit about premature lung related deaths??? Of what? Car fumes or smoking maybe? Children with undeveloped lungs? Give me number per million citizens per annum. Also why they keep talking about businesses it will affect? What about residents? Not everyone can afford new car (not talking about insurance it comes with). Also many residents of new zone do not use their car for commuting to Central London (it cost to enter and same to park). Most of the time cars are left at home parked. Why one need to pay daily charge for parked car. It is THEFT. And funny fact is car older then 40 years is exempt from ULEZ charge. These cars pollute more than bus. Personal message to Mayor: Fix Road traffic system in London at existing cost. If you cannot achieve this, get lost. Go find work at children's tv program, as you so good of explaining things to them. This person is delusional.

Complete doughnut! He has enforced this dream without thinking how it will affect local businesses, traders etc. Instead he's arguing and not answering a damn thing! For example the flowershop close to where i live delivers flowers to customers in and around London. Now the owner has to find the money to buy a new vehicle (when nothing is wrong with his current vehicle) and get rid of his car for peanuts. Meanwhile Khan should be investing money in technologies to create a new type of filter or an efficient fuel system to help with the emissions issue. Instead due to consumerist culture, we will probably be forced to buy new cars every few years. Whats next? The materials used to make the batteries in hybrid or electric cars are unsustainable so everyone needs to move over to a car that runs on air? #RANTOVER!

The Mayor completely destroyed my small taxi business, first ULEZ makes me changed my car from year 2014 to 2016 and spent 18k now he increasing the london C CHARGE to £15 a day 7d a week 7am to 10pm! I am totally out of business, thanks Mr Mayor thanks TFL I and up with expensive car which cannot sell for profit

My question if a car is 2016 and exempt from ulez then will it be exempt forever or does ulez exemption on a car expire after some time?
My thoughts are ,if your car has passed emissions test at MOT, TIME ,THEN IT SHOULD BE COMPLIANT HOW CAN HE BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE SET GOVERNMENT FIGURES TO SUIT HIMSELF THIS CLOWN,NO DISRESPECT TO CLOWNS,HAS TO GO ,ONE WAY OR ANOTHER ASAP.

I used to go for a meal once a week to the west end with 3 other mates .On average we spent £80 and £120 .
That ain't gonna happen .The resulting loss to the restaurant business of at least £350 per month .
I hope all the businesses will get their reckoning for NOT OPPOSING the stupid congestion charge .
Traffic has increased over the years yet roads reduced ,no increase in parking facilities and by paying the charge how the F does that reduce pollution ? Oh I know every time you pay the fing pollution is washed away with your payment .

Sadiqs plans have kind of backfired on him if he's wanting to reduce emissions in London. The cycle lanes they are building have increased pollution as its increased traffic and the agreements of opening another runway in Heathrow will further increase pollution as you'll get an extra 1200 planes landing and going.

The only way to stop Khan from doing this is for every driver { car...taxi...lorry.... van } to put a ban on driving in London..Just think of it no food for supermarkets or restaurants no beer for the pubs no supply's for hotels or night clubs the list goes on..bet it wouldn't last long till he stops what he is doing

I'd just like to say I am a Londoner who is not wealthy at all. All I have Is one motorcycle which i keep maintained to the highest possible condition. I will no longer be able to use it in London even though I never wait in traffic like cars do. Apparently by Khan's standards, the guy who owns 3 new range rovers is not the problem and it's me with my 1 motorcycle which is the problem. My bike is less than 400 cc as well so smaller engine. Khan should stop speaking for less wealthy people and let us speak for ourselves. can't even ride on Christmas day either because ulez is in operation when there's no public transport. 1 cheap bike. that's all I asked for. but it was too much to ask for. Never mind.
The main issue is we want to reduce air pollution but we've got to get over the idea that the only way to solve air pollution is with a low emissions zone. Biofuel technology is readily available and can be substituted into diesel and petrol engines. It'll reduce particulate matter emitted by about 95% at least and NOx but not sure of the %. It'll also contribute more positively to climate change than electric cars do.
I'm in the same situation mate, I've got a 04 scooter so the emissions are not on my v5. But 07 in the exact same model has so they are allowed to use their bike. Its absolute scam. There be pile heap of classic scooters and motorbikes for scrap because no one wants to buy
A tax in the guise of 'Care for the Environment'. What about all the environmental costs of disposing of all of the vehicles which do not meet the requirements? It's totally unfair to force people to pay like this. There are already many costs involved in running a motor vehicle. People often need cars in order to do their jobs. So if they are forced to get rid of their vehicles, it could mean more unemployment. Another thing: there are not enough jobs available. Employers are too fussy in terms of what qualifications, age, experience etc. they require. Every time you apply for a job, there may be thousands of others seeing it, so it's difficult to even get an interview. The whole system is wrong. Many people are not able to utilise their skills if they can't get the right job.

Police should spend more of their time preventing crime, so to introduce something which would undoubtedly provoke more criminal action by the public therefore ties Police up in dealing with terrorism etc. Perhaps Khan could sort the Ukraine problem out seeing he confident his action could sort the pollution out in London. More importantly state who he spent taxpayers’ money on employing his advisors to reach such an opinion on the matter.

I'm a 74 year old OAP on basic government pension. I'm already paying £630 per year Road TAX on my 2006 Landover which just passed emmision tests for mot. If this ULEZ goes through I will have to pay £87-50 GREEN TAX ULEZ per week to drive down my own road to get a loaf of bread or basic needs from the foodbank. I also have mobility issues. Will Khan be supplying me with alternative transport.... Thought NOT 🤔💯🤡
