Bought my first pomegranate tree a few months ago. Plenty of good tips there! Thanks. We had the same kind of year here no apples, plums, pears, walnuts etc.

Very nice! Hope it gives you lot of fruit. Some years are good some are bad and just have to take the good with the bad.

@@MyCroatianHomestead Thats the thing with farming. Its good to have planted lots of different things as each year is good for something. But if you have too many different things its a lot of work.

Yes it is not easy but rewording at the end. I look at it as a saving as well. Go to grocery store and buy similar things that are not as good as home grown. What does that cost and put your time to it to produce it. Anything you do at home is tax free as well do not forget that. You can make a good wage just providing food for your family.

Yes today was a fine sunny day here and I had five pineapple sage plants in pots that had grown to about 6 foot and flowered every year for the last 3 years even in winter and they thrived in all seasons. The constant rain destroyed them. Today I went to prune them back but they were just dead wood. Herb type flowering plants are getting harder to find these days. Hope you get better weather in Croatia

I am sorry to hear about your pineapple sage plants. Hope you can find new once to replace them. We are currently trying to get approval to leave the country. Will have to make a video on it this is crazy what is happening.

My pomegranate is 5 years old and over 6 feet tall. It's in the ground but it does not have any flowers. How long after the leaves come out does it take for flowers to show up?

It takes about 2-3 years to get flowers and fruit.

My pomegranate is exactly the same as yours: 5 years old, in the ground, 6 feet tall, fairly narrow at about 2 feet wide... but it has never produced a single flower which I think is unusual. Anything I can do to encourage it to produce flowers and fruit?

@@ShikokuFoodForest I gave mine a bunch of bone meal this year in the early spring and there are many flowers on a couple sections of it this year

I would give it some potassium.

@@MyCroatianHomestead Thanks. It’s fairly early spring here, so it just broke dormancy a few weeks ago and is leafing out now. I gave it some chicken and cow manure plus some organic fertilizer. I’ll double check how much potassium the fertilizer contained.

If I don’t plant my trees in barrels, the gophers eat the roots. I’ve lost too many fruit trees to gophers
