!! The note to spray them with honey water is a revelation!! I often have problems with my flowers not setting fruit, and I recently realized it is because there are so few bees! I could not think of a way to attract them back (I already have a flower patch, in addition to my 2 potted pomegranate trees) so this will he very helpful! 😊
this is BAD advice. honey carries American Foalbrood spores and will transfer the disease from your honey to other hives thus killing the hive. the only cure for AFB is buring the hive, honey, bees, and any thing used in the hive. so DONT do this.
I have a lemon myrtle that's loved by both native and European bees, as well as hornets. If I plant my pomegranate close to it, maybe they will take notice.
Nice tips especially spraying honey for pollination but one thing i want to know whether this tips is applicable for all the plants or only for this plant
Thanks for liking the video. For this reason, I have my own bee hive and in most countries governments are supporting this. Bees are allowed even in multi-story and multi-unit housing in busy cities. Unfortunately, the corporate greed has brought us here. This is the way to go now. If you want real milk, have your own cow or a goat. If you want real honey have your own bee hives and if you want healthy vegetables grow your own. Not all of can do it unfortunately, so we are at the mercy of human gods.
@@amishashah9021 Yes, wild bees can be used for pollination as long as they are attracted to flowers and I have mentioned the trick to attract the bees towards the flowers.

Hi. I'm in South Africa. Now is late autumn just few days before winter. Zone 9b goes sometime to -4C but very few days. Day time temperatures in 20s. My pomegranate is full of flowers and young fruits. That tree start late flowering and then in the middle of summer in to the winter he start flowering like crazy. tree is in his 4th year. What should I do to force tree to start flowering in spring?
Thank you for your video. Is it possible to explain to me the following. I have a five year old pomegranate tree which I pruned radically last season, it has been fed properly with citrus food periodically and this season looks very healthy with many new branches. However there are no flowers. The PH of the soil is right.. I can not figure out what is the problem. Can you help me by responding on this column. I will appreciate it. KP
@@nelsontan8328 the things that I can think of, is that may be a small variety or otherwise the plant is not able to find enough nutrients. Fertilize it well but not too much. Is the soil very compact ?
If you radically pruned like you said, then you killed all the chances of the plant producing any fruits. Pomegranates produce flower, and thus set fruit, on the previous year’s wood. Prune only the dead woods.
Thank you!!! The bees are on all the cactus and not on my pom lol these are great tips I’m gonna try the honey thing now asap my buds are starting to drop :/ and I’ve seen no bees touch my flowers
I have plenty of Pomegranate fruit without having sprayed the flowers & fruits (while they are forming) with water, but, on some evenings dew forms on the plants & ground, & that may help when it does. . . . However, not so much during our summers (Inland, Southern California). . . . Wind knocks quite a few of our flowers off ... &, splitting of fruit happens if I water too often while it is forming. Once every other week is good in our heavy clay soil, no more. . . . We also have Hummingbirds that often visit our Pomegranate's flowers, so I suspect they may play a part in helping the flowers become fruits. (: Pomegranates are a favorite fruit of mine! Both 'Wonderful' and 'Sweet' varieties, and probably others that I haven't yet had opportunity to taste!
Thank you for your suggestions, especially the use of a honey spray to attract pollinators. I am going to prune this winter, establish a watering system and spray the plant when blooms appear as advised.
Even bees are on the tree and I broke several male flowers and threw the petals on female ones, still the flower breaks off in a few days.Nothing converts into a fruit
We a have a pomegranate tree which was grown accidentally by the bird droppings. It's been there for about 4 years with no fruits and no matter what we do, it doesn't die out either so this year I'll do everything I can to fruit it
I would say it is a fungal infection. The most common frustrating diseases in pomegranate are caused by fungal infections which can be the hardest to control. The frequent culprits are Alternaria fruit rot, Aspergillus fruit rot and Boytrytis. Find some antifungal from local garden shop or from the internet.
Hi I just found your website. It is very informative. My question is by spraying with honey solution will it not only attract bees, it also attract ants and other pest. Will it affect the fruit tree?
I also want to knoe about answer spraying with mixed water plus a tea spoon honey? Cos today my pome just come only 6 flower and i already saw 1 black ant always stay on the flower. Hope the flower not broken or falling down. Cos its already 4 years suspends never come the flower now just come
Hello, I don't believe #2 is necessary at all, at least not with my variety of pomegranate--Parfianka. Also, there are both male and female flowers on pomegranates. The male flower will never turn into fruit and will naturally dry up and fall onto the ground.
These suggestions are not going to cure the common problem with pomegranate flower falling. Access of watering, spraying of honey into flowers are not the accurate tips. Somebody has told me that it is due to the deficiency of a particular nutrient during flowering season. Some told that a moth like insect deep into the flowers. However the quality of voice and pictures of this video was good.
The question is, are there population of pollinators in the area? Attracting pollinators is through planting flowering plants around the area... Not baiting them 😂

Sir after how many year this plant produce fruit ?
Should produce fruit within 5 years, if you grow from seeds. If you used branches to propagate plants than it should be 2 years maximum.
how much space do pomegranate trees need?
