Yes it is easy to do and this time of year is perfect when you have the fresh spring growth. I might clone more myself because I need to prune off a branch.
Thank you! I have a 2 year old newly planted Parfianka Pomegranate in a borderline hardiness zone and I immediately want to clone and all I have is very thin branches. Your video was very helpful 🥰👍
Great video! I learned a lot! Do you have an update on the clones? When is the best time to put it into the ground? I have a pomegranate tree that I badly need to prune and I want to start some clones for my family to have.
Dormant cuttings are actually the preferred method for propagation, you have a much higher success rate with hardwood cuttings from this particular tree, make sure they are pencil thick and the wood is hardened off, make the cut and let the cutting callous over for 24 hours then pot up and store for the winter, when spring comes around put them in a warm spot with mild indirect light and by mid spring you should see some healthy growth
Thanks for sharing. Did you know cuttings don't need the nutrients in the water while it's making roots? A drop or two of bleach in the water will keep it cleaner for longer and this will help it while it's making its new roots.
Do either of you think that adding some soil to the water a few days before planting will help the plant transition from living in water to living in soil?
That was an excellent video however I subscribed solely for your music selection! Totally just blank doing research and come across your video... Now I'm dancing around. Awesome sauce. Thank you!
Yes I will make a video again about compost tea. You can make it with worm castings and compost then add some molasses after 24 hrs. Thats just one recipe. Many ways to make compost tea. Give the compost tea to the newly planted plants. Don't overdo the fertilizer or anything else
You should be able to 100% success rate if you do it right. Each plant needs to be cared for the same way, don't let them dry out or also don't bog them in water too long which could rot the roots starting out.
whats in the compost tea. Also I heard that pomegranate grow every year only from the new growth from pomegranate tree bush etc. Is that true or does it matter? Also can I get anything from the old cuttings possibly using some other tecniques. HELP just figuring out to get more around my property. Thanks excellent vid.
Compost tea is basically creating a tea with compost or worm castings, then adding a food source to the tea. The beneficial microbes, bacteria and fungi will multiply and supercharges your plants for vigourous and healthy growth. Yes wait till you see new growth because they basically loose all the leaves in winter.
Cutting of any plant dumped in water hurts the plant by draining it of nutrients. Like for rosemary, they root then die slowly over two months even after being planted to mulch.
@donaldkasper8346 mine is still thriving so far. Started it from a cutting from a herb package from the grocery store in May 2024. Keeping my fingers crossed. In Canada
A compost tea is basically taking a organic source and bubbling it in water while mixing it with a sugar source or food to feed microbes, beneficial bacteria, fungi etc to supercharge your plants health.
I will be making a video on it but basically start with a compost or worm castings, then aerate in a bucket of water, add some mycorrhizal fungi and molasses after 24 hrs. wait 1 or 2 hours and then apply to plants
so glad that some one loved your music selection. I on the other hand hated it. It was way too loud and your voice was over powered by it; making it hard to hear you.
Music c/b little lower but you did a great job so made it easy to follow. Today I bought a dwarf pomegranite to bonsai & I put all the clippings in water then found your channel. Cant wait to clone! I loved your kitty w/bells. 🐱❤️
Thanks! I just bought a pomegranate plant the other week, and needed to trim off a few branches today.

Does it matter what time of year ? Just as long as it's NEW growth branches? Thank you for sharing. 😊

That is great. You should have no problem. That sounds like an interesting variety
Were u successful?
Funny you should ask me just now because I never tried untill 4 days ago when I had better selection of branches. @Pizza-gb1ch
Wasnt sure how well it would clone because of thinness of branches thank you.
Great video! I learned a lot! Do you have an update on the clones? When is the best time to put it into the ground? I have a pomegranate tree that I badly need to prune and I want to start some clones for my family to have.
Yes I still have some growing and they are pretty big now in 5 gallon containers
@growingorganictvshow
Have they produced any pomegranates yet?
I was also wondering if it is possible to start with larger cuttings?
Did it work?
Well done and thank you for sharing! I will give it a try and there’s not info on the topic of cuttings in English.
Yeah it will work for sure. Good luck with that. Thanks hope more people find out how easy it is..
Thank you so much for this information!!! I am turning my backyard onto a big farm garden.
Glad it was helpful!
At what day did you add the seaweed fertilizer and what day did you plant them in a pot?
I believe it was a few days from the time I chopped till planting. The seaweed was added day 2
Awesome video man, love your style
Thank you Beau. Appreciate it! I am working on it.
3:37 I could have sworn after the cat came out you said See Pumpkin here, show you how to "clown" some more trees! LOL
Thanks
Can I do this in QLD Australia now in mid July ( winter) ?
Its best to do when new growth is present for best results I believe
Thank you!! Can this be done while the tree is dormant?
I need to know too! If I take dormant cuttings, but bring them i to my warm house, will they wake up and root??
I would not try this, your chances are not great but you never know.

That is true it is not necessary but it can absorb some through its leaves. Thanks for the tip about bleach

hello did you make the video about compost tea, or what else can we add as nutrient after they are potted in soil? thanks

I have a mini pomegranate and just put some cuttings in water. Hopefully i will have several mini pomegranates in a couple weeks. 😊
Did u?
@@Pizza-gb1ch I have one
How to strengthen a leggy pomegranate sapling?
Try to give it more sun or trim off the top to get it to branch out
How many successfully became seedlings in the end ?

Is rooting hormone good to use? I wonder if its better with just water for this plant
That should work as well but just good rich moist compost rich soil is the key

My rosemary are thriving. One from water and one from soil.
@@Pizza-gb1ch the one in water will take 4 months to die, but it will.

That cw intro
Can u tell me why after had new leaves they die please
Give it some time to get rooted. Its common to loose some leaves
Hi can u tell me when is time to clone please.thanks
I thinks the best time is when you see new fresh growth which is usually the spring I believe.
@@GrowingOrganicTvShow thanks so much

I agree
The kitty makes the video.
Yes indeed. He has to act to get his treats
How long will it take a clone to produce fruit?
I would say a few years for it to grow to large enough size to fruit.
