As a slightly above average painter, I tend to use guides like this and take a tiny bit further, having only found this after using the 2 GW guides, Im disappointed I didnt see this first, your result and techniques are FAR superior to the GW ones. Subscribed immediately, good work.
Thank you for this guide. I used to love using the GW guides to paint all my stormcast from day 1 but now they just got lazy by doing half assed videos for Yndrasta like only her wings and armour or foccusing mostly on contrast painting. no longer do they do 40 min videos to fully paint up a model like in the early days :'(
Really enjoyed the new video!!! When I paint the gems on my models I base it with the chrome then use contrast paints on them. I really like the effect it gives. Keep up the great work!
Oh wow I'm getting Dominion tomorrow and was wondering how to paint this model and poof! You created this fantastic tutorial excellent work as always 👌👍
I like how you combine pure white paint and contrast paints for the runes/gemstones. I personally found the combination of a silver paint and GWs Spiritstone Red/Soulstone Blue/Waystone Green to give a really nice shiney effect :) Just putting it out there, for people to experiment with. I find it a great way to paint lenses, too.
Nice result on armor, my thought was to paint the model with retributor armor, wash it with reikland fleshshade , then heavy drybrush with sigmarire and finaly paint the edges with liberator gold
Hello sir So I love your water effect on the base, you mentioned its gloss varnation and paint? Ive done a whole bunch of googling but I cant find a tutorial or anything for a similar technique, could you possibly give us a quick run down? Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! It literally is that simple! I built the area around up using texture paint, then painted some dark forest type greens into the gap - when it had dried I poured gloss varnish into the area up to the lip of the texture paint - hope that helps!
Thank you for the guide! I used this to help me paint my Yndrasta. How did you get the puddle to look so smooth & watery? I put down some Strikland mud & tried to paint over it but it is just green over the mud texture, it doesn't look anywhere close to as good as yours.
have you a video on non metallic metal? or is it just i cant find it? i always follow your guides and just started stormcast army and want to push myself as a painter
Just out of curiosity since I was stupid and glued the parts together. What would recommend for priming the assembled model? Should prime the whole thing retributor gold or try to cover the wings and tree separately?

Thanks Dale - I really appreciate your kind words and the sub!
i could listen to your voice all day
Haha thanks! Hopefully there is enough content to see you through for a bit!
I'm literally following this paint job to the tee! Even purchased the colours I have been missing to do so!
Let me know how you get on!
It's a great model and doing it your way seems such better and easier!
Receiving my box this week and your vid will be very handy. Thank you for the timely content.
Aweosme 👍🏻
I don't play AOS but the more I look at the minis the more I consider it. The sculpts really are amazing.
They really are!
Me too. I'm much more interested in 40k but some minis from AOS just... perfect, i REALLY want them on my shelf. Not to play, just watch at them.
Yes 100% have you seen the new lord commander coming?
@@ThePaintingCoach That bald man with HUUUGE hammer on his shoulders? Yep, i saw him.
I didn't think to leave the back off, as well as the wings. Good thing I'm saving her to paint last.
Definitely makes things a bit easier!
Fantastic job and with so little time to assemble and paint the mini, then get the vid edited and loaded too.
Cheers mate!

It is a great model!

I dont have canoptek alloy and it seems i cant find atm, any suggestions from gw paints that look similar to it? Thanks again and take care😊
No problem - try mixing a bright silver with some gold 👍🏻
About to tackle this one and celestant prime... wish me luck lol
Good luck!
Great video, soooo cool. Will look it tomorrow, its 1 a. m. now)

@@ThePaintingCoach this is exactly what I did, I think I just need to add more varnish, thank you!
No problem!
Another amazing job got any plans to do the ork side of Dominion?
Cheers! Yes the boss on Gnashtooth next week and then a different style speed painting vid for the hobgrotz

I left a gap and put some UV resin in there 👍🏻
nevermind, I found your reply to a similar comment. thank you!
Awesome figure! Thak you for a amazng videos!
Glad you enjoyed it!
How did you painted the angry squirrel?
Gryph Hound Orange contrast, and made sure that the Karak Stone drybrush caught it 👍🏻

Hi Dean - I don't yet - i'll have a basic one as part of this weeks tutorial - check out Zumitiko who has a cool guide
Awesome!
Thanks!!
when u accidently snip one of the wing pegs because u forget its a pushfit model :( sad times lol but still love the guide
Thanks! I find the pegs are more of a hindrance haha
Hello:
May I ask what colors are used for the grass? thanks
Plaguebearer flesh over wraithbone
@@ThePaintingCoach Thank’s🙏
Just out of curiosity since I was stupid and glued the parts together. What would recommend for priming the assembled model? Should prime the whole thing retributor gold or try to cover the wings and tree separately?
You can try doing it separately, using some cling film to protect the gold - otherwise go with gold and use corax white to paint the white bits
@@ThePaintingCoach thank you! And very nice work with this model.
No problem - thanks!
I feel reeeealy sad that there is no separate model of her. Maybe later?
Yes no doubt - although she comes on a sprue with other models so may be a group release
how did you paint the greens!?
Which greens? On the base? That's just some deathworld forest with straken green mixed in
@@ThePaintingCoach yes the plants! which are falling from thre tree stone also the base one
The darker green is militarum green over white, and the lighter grass is plaguebearer flesh over white 👍🏻
@@ThePaintingCoach wow whithout shade or highlight? looks good
Yeah the contrast will do that for you :)
