Maybe it's because I'm an older payer, but I have no desire to rush through the game. I prefer to solo, and I like to take my time, look around, explore. Real life is rushed enough.

I have not done much in Wizard101 past beating mostly everything in Wizard City (I have made it to Krokotopia, but haven't seen much yet). It is just good to do because why not experience the game? The side quests add a bit of humor and sometimes have really good rewards such as training points from Zeke.
It’s so annoying hearing people be so cool on skipping a third of the entire games content, I’m literally a level 45 death in mooshu because I do the side quests and am very overleveled in preparation for wintertusk
exactly. I always get annoyed when people skip crab alley when you're basically double the level you enter it as by the time you leave. Like man don't underestimate sidequest exp.
I've 100% completed Wizard City, Krokotopia, Wysteria, Marleybone, Mooshu, Grizzleheim, Wintertusk, and I only have a few side quests remaining in Dragonspyre. I'm currently level 67 going through Science Center in Celestia.
When compared to Pirate101, the sides in Wizard101 give crazy good exp. I usually ignore them in Pirate101(unless it’s something like Moo Manchu) but right now as I’m doing my first Wizard(a Death) I’m doing as much sides as I can, cause I would much rather be overleveled than underleveled. I’m here for the story, not the combat(although both are exceptional)
In Avalon and Azteca i usually need help with the boss fights because boss health is insane high and for storm it’s tough. These side quests probably could help a lot. ( I’m soloing)
Also especially when you don't want to be under leveled in the second Arc and up, just at least do some side quests guys. Especially if you get extra xp
I never do side quests and it’s never an issue. The pacing is perfect. You hit 45 after malistaire then do wintertusk. In wintertusk I do side quests to get around 57, then I hit 60 mid celestia and I’m perfectly set. It just isn’t worth it
I would agree with doing side quests BEFORE they made the game super easy. After they nerfed the health of all mobs the game really went from a decent challenge to so easy its not fun anymore. Not only that, but mobs don't crit anymore (a bug I assume) and the player crits very easily. Just my opinion, I will say though, the difficulty jump from dragonspyre to Celestia can destroy a underleveled new player.
Also newer worlds are easier. Karamelle is probably the easiest and shortest world in the game which makes it really unfun. I hope the next world is ACTUALLY difficult and long with a cool theme and great graphics/story.
@@ddt1762 Yeah but Polaris' theme and story and presentation are sooo much better than Karamelle. I was just lashing out my frustration when I said that tho.
My argument against side quests is 1-max I will get there faster then someone running side quests. You hit max level from story quests alone currently in Wiz, ANY time spent on side quests is xp that will vanish once you're max because you will still have story quests to do and they would've VERY quickly filled in all that easy xp, since you don't have the option to skip any of the story if you're wanting access to the final boss and such, the good thing that sidequests are for are to make you stronger earlier, making the game easier, but side quests themselves are not time efficient. My main has every quest (that I've found) done, because I wanted to experience everything, and I did most worlds while leveling through them until AZ, and it was nice because fire used to struggle a lot between low early damage, 2nd lowest health, and too many useless spells, but none of my other characters do any quest that isn't like unlocking ww, or Aquila, etc. After having said all this, I don't recommend skipping side quests for beginners, after all they are made to help you get power spikes to clear content you can't yet.
Just my opinion, if you don’t wanna be a low level getting to Celestia you can always just do all the world including wintertusk, you should be around level 50 once you are done… then you can ask a friend to boost you 10 levels in karamelle in order to do waterworks etc.. no side quest needed
If you have infinite time to play then yeah you might as well do side quests to make things easier, but it is NOT efficient. For example, all the wizard city side quests combined aren't worth a single dragonspyre main quest but you'll spend hours and hours doing them. If you can make it to *x world* without the small level advantage from previous side quests it's absolutely optimal as far as time to level. You don't have to look at very endgame to see the pros of skipping side quests
I pick up all side quests and complete some of them accidentally but I don’t go out of the way. The only exception is wintertusk, where I did all of them and I was over leveled enough to have celestial be a breeze.
I get players telling me not to sides in wiz cuz it’s useless; idc either way if they are useless or not, I am a completionist and so far on my 160 life I finished every side in the game except the rank 15!gardening side quests other than that all other + new ones are finished; im currently doing all badges but have 467/1,020 total badges
fr I’m in khrysalis and I haven’t dont any sides quest in all those 10 worlds I just think it’s a waste of time but I’m level 93 just stared the world no side quest so ye.
I personally disagree though. If you wanna do them for story reason that's totally understandable! But if youre like me and you just wanna get to max asap to PvP then I still wouldn't do any. Like you said the end the worlds give so much xp that any side quest you did before those worlds aren't even noticable. My philosophy is that you waste more time doing these side quests than time spent dying or struggling because the world is too hard. If you're gonna do wintertusk early so you can be level 50 starting celestia, it might have taken you at the very least 8 hours to finish that world. Would it take an extra 8 hours to do celestia from level 44-54? I totally get your point though but imo I probably still wont do any side quests, I actually did do many on one of my characters and I didn't like it that much, I just felt like it took so much longer to get from one area to another.
I think the problem I have a lot of time is that PVP players and PVE players have a lot of trouble seeing each others perspective. To the PVP player the only thing in the game that's important is the PVP, and everything up to that point is irrelevant, while to the PVE player everything is important since they want to experience the game, not the playerbase. I don't know if that makes sense but most people I see disagreeing are the people who like PVP rather than PVE.
If you play hardcore, you can easily get to level 140 in 1 month. Tried it before and do not recommend it. You'll get burnt out by Azteca, especially Khrysalis. No, don't do side quests. My brother did side quests and did not get to Dragonspyre a few weeks later.
I just turned level 40, should I start wintertusk now or do you recommend me to wait until I am a little higher. I don't know how difficult it is going to be. I just have one more quest for ravenscar
Membership definitely. It costs around $300 plus of crowns to buy every area in the game, which is about 30 months of membership. Unless you plan on 3+ years of playing, i’d say stick to membership definitely.
I firmly disagree with this. The game really isn't that hard besides some bosses/dungeons which you likely won't try to solo anyway and it should take less time to just do what's required.
I disagree because first of all it takes lots of my time up and if I will be max anyway then why do side quests. Second I don’t like being over leveled because then the game is less of a challenge. (Unless you are balence which then you need the help)
There’s still plenty of challenge soloing the game. You can be 20 levels above at points and there will be some bosses that give a bit of trouble. And for the time thing, you’re spending time playing a game. Why speed through it instead of enjoying it completely?
@@zachweiss2971 i mean, i could understand that, but i’d still want to enjoy every character instead of just having another trophy on the shelf, you know?
I disagree, the game is pretty basic and easy in earlier world rather than endgame worlds and dungeons, the only good side quests are Zeus/Hades and grizzlheim because of spells and gear rewards. Other than that I’ll rather boost through the worlds to hit max level. Objectively side quests such as ones you find laying around in worlds are time wasting.
Out of curiosity, why do you consider playing the game time wasting? If you are playing it just to power through, what is your motive for that? I always find it difficult to understand people who want to get through the game as fast as possible because it just seems kind of boring to me.
No offense this is horrible advice most side quests are a waste of time just buy monstrous tc’s rush through the first worlds finish celestial before winter tusk and then ur overleveled cause wintertusk.
