These blindfold challenges are so popular we're going to do a blindfold blindfold challenge. Rob & I have to pick which blindfold is which, whilst wearing blindfolds. I know - I'm a creative genius.
Rob Chapman I only just heard Bea's description of the challenge and this is already the best video ever. More of these with different guitar types - T-Types with Singles, Single cuts, etc... Also, LEE INSTANTLY STARTS CHEATING!!! lol
Rob Chapman could you do an annual pedal board shoot-out where you, Lee and Bea put together a pedal board of your own personal favourite pedals from that year ?
Very impressed with how quickly Rob knew he was playing his signature guitar. He didn't touch anything but the strings and neck, heard it acousticly, just played it and knew... And then couldn't find the volume knob hahaha
If I ever win the lottery, I will call Lee and ask to go into the warehouse and just go round and go "I'll have one of those, one of those and two of them...."
These blindfold episode are really entertaining! I like how Rebea picked all strat shaped guitars to make it harder, and feeling the hardware was restricted to make it harder still. I think it would be cool to see a little series where it's the same deal, except different shapes. Do a show with a bunch of different Les Paul shaped guitars, explorer's, V's, maybe a show with all semi hollows... Keep it up guys! I love watching your vids!!
orlock20 I'm guessing this excludes stuff like elixir? cause when i play on anything not elixir i have to change strings aftera few days cause i have such sweaty hands. And i've never had troubles with my elixirs
Blindfold semi-hollow (hollow) bodies. I'd like to know if you can hear the difference between a Coronado, a Casino and a Gibson 335 and maybe throw in an Ibanez semi-hollow for kicks. Of course no headstock touching. :-)
Rob and Lee have been doing this so long they really do know these guitars... This was so much fun it should be a bi-annual or quarterly event. Anything more and it would be too hard to do and would get boring for the boys...
You guys are the best. I only got to watch a few minutes this morning before work so all day I couldn't wait to get home to finish watching. So much fun
This felt more like your non-commercial/non-bias stuff. Love it! We buy from Anderton's because you make us feel like family. Dang... which new head should I buy... :)
I really enjoy watching you guys - and the reviews. Adds a lot of good comedy to what could be a really dry subject! Probably the first youtube channel that I actually look forward to watching when the vids come out. Gratz, to all the videos!
When I clicked the video, that's what I expected/hoped, especially due to "All the gear" in the title. I think having ~4 different categories and having them each guess approximately what rank in least to most expensive, and a reasonable price for the perceived quality of OD, reverb, delay etc, would make for an incredible video.
+Rob Chapman I love that single! I literally just went and pre-ordered that CD. I'm super hyped! If the rest of that CD is even relatively close to how awesome White Dove is, it will be a huge success. Keep on doing what you're doing! It keeps guys like me wanting to keep up on guitar even more.
As impressive as any blindfold test could be - you guys know your guitars so amazingly well. Great to watch and I look forward to your next challenge. Perhaps a blindfold test on various drum kits :) Love it - keep it coming as we are certainly entertained .
LukeBass1000 Actually, if you watch enough of Rob's videos, you will notice that he slides back to a first position E major using fingers 2, 3, and 4 all the time. If you are switching between barre chords and first position, depending on the situation, this can be a more efficient way of placing the fingers. I don't think Rob was cheating....
man i really wish i could try out a chapman guitar!!! this was a nice video and I learned alot upon how each guitar sounds. funny how much you learn even though I've been playing for 6 years now!
Rob's blindfold is like a bizarre cross between an imperial German parade helmet and a Ku klux Klan hood and it just had me dying the entire video. Good job guys hahaha
Blind Amp test that involves modern Amp sims such as Kemper and the axe FX. Maybe even some software sims such as Bias or Lepou... I know you guys don't have an axe fx in your shop, but maybe you could borrow one just for a test drive?
Suggestion: Take 8 guitars, divide them into two sets and have one person play 4 of them. Have the other person blindfolded, guessing which guitar and amp you're playing, then vice versa :D Should be fun ^^
CaptAnderton In a world gone mad, I'd say you've made yourself a fine businessman. Your store's still open, the websnet loves you, and you haven't stolen any pensions yet.
CaptAnderton A real business Cpt. Lee! One that you so rightfully and honourably deserve, and your children, and your children's children. Let Andertons be a beacon of honesty, helpfulness and down right Britishness for ever and ever more!
Well, that was a train wreck from the start. First thing Lee does is fiddle with the controls. Neck construction, metal back plates, bridge... These are giveaways.
Well done. I would love this to happen more. maybe a monthly segment with different stuff. amps would be cool. Bass would be awesome and even just more guitars. idk I thought it was genuinely funny and interesting watching you guys (grown man-children) in the holy grail of music candy stores. I love you guys and you've helped me a lot in my short time being a subscriber. I landed here because of Leo M.,Jared Dines and Rob Scallon of course. keep your spirits as high as your passion gentleman. \m/ rock on, from the U.P. of Michigan
Squeee!! you guys reviewed my new American Strat HH. I'm glad you guys like it as much as I do. Great guitar. Speaking of which, great show. I really appreciate this, the sound like series, etc. You guys are awesome, and can expect to see some pedal orders coming in soon. :)
Hey... Great Video. You should do one for sound only, you don't get to touch the guitar just listen to someone else play. Seems like you're guessing on whatever knowledge you have of the build, not the sound.
I've got an idea: FX Lucky Dip! Big box of random pedals. You gotta pick out 3 at random and get a decent sound. Or set a target. 'Sound like The Edge with 3 random pedals' or something.
I'd love to see a humbucker challenge. One guitar type(for ex. multiple chapmans) equipped with stock Epiphone, Seymour Duncan, Gibson, Suhr, PRS, ESP, Bare Knuckle, Fralin etc.. I wonder if manufacturers are recognizable in their "Signature sound".
Damn, Captain cheated again!!! He touched headstock on Jackson and made assumption about it being Ibanez. Previous time Captain could tell which line of (PRS If I remember right) by touching controlls, if knobs are all the same than ok. And Chapman can recognize his guitars as he did!
In that 20 or so minutes i became conditioned to the pillow ;-; it's now weird to see lee's face...however it does strike me as something a blind person might do to themselves. "Well I can't see shit anyway, so i might as well stick a pillow to my face incase i fall over" Oh and his name is now Lee "Pillowface" Anderton. That's a rule.
Thegood Guy Yes I am so blatantly gay for Lee...it's just a comment written in good humour, don't cry :) Oh and did you think noone would notice when you are the only person to like your own comment...? xD
Guitar Stu Not that but his father brought back from an overseas business trip many years ago a powerful artifact known as the "Bark of the Woodenant" the MIGHTIEST of TONE woods! And he has yet to know.
Very entertaining and overall great video! You guys should go for te ultimate LP-type challenge going from something like a cheap Epiphone Les Paul to a Full on Prive Stock PRS type of guitar. I bet that on the upper range (Private Stock vs decent Gibson R9) it should me much harder to judge. Would love to do it myself. Cheers!
Request: Do a wood challenge. Get strats/squiers/copies at various price points, but with nice setups and fret jobs and pots, and use identical pickups, and see if the wood makes a difference. For example: Standard Squier with agathis, Deluxe Squier with basswood, American Fender with alder, and two other brands. Also identical amps and identical decibels.
Haha Lee is always so full of shit in these videos XD When Rabea brought in the Jackson and Chappers said it was the bolt on "profile" that gave it away. Lee right away said that He didn't feel that cus he didn't want to cheat. WTF! He was the FIRST ONE who was touching that and checking it out xD That's when Chappers said that Lee wasn't supposed to feel the structrure of the guitar. Just how it sounds and how it plays xD Oh Lee... you just never seize to amaze xD
I'd love to see a PRS blindfold challenge - try to tell between the SE Standard, SE, S2, and top range models of the same shape. And maybe some other gear like another one with amps or pedals too would be fun :)
These blindfold challenges are so popular we're going to do a blindfold blindfold challenge. Rob & I have to pick which blindfold is which, whilst wearing blindfolds. I know - I'm a creative genius.
Love you.
CaptAnderton You guys should do a blindfold challenge with vintage gear
CaptAnderton cap ive said it before and ill say it again. you and rob need to do a smallest rig challenge. pedalboard and amp
Or maybe just start, by getting better blindfolds ;)
CaptAnderton Holy shit!! You nailed the psychic guess on the Jackson.!!
This was hilarious to film!! ;-)
Rob Chapman I only just heard Bea's description of the challenge and this is already the best video ever. More of these with different guitar types - T-Types with Singles, Single cuts, etc...
Also, LEE INSTANTLY STARTS CHEATING!!! lol
Rob you almost look like Klan
Rob Chapman this afro dude looks like Ice Cube only white lol
Rob Chapman could you do an annual pedal board shoot-out where you, Lee and Bea put together a pedal board of your own personal favourite pedals from that year ?
Good fun to watch! We all love these blindfold videos!
"Ok, don't touch the headstock or the knobs" *touches the headstock, plays with the knob*
Exactly!😂😂
9:59
White Jackson, close Lee.
Man, this second season of Daredevil has really gone downhill on the costume budget.
Hahaha... well done
"Its a blue jackson..."
White Jackson comes out.
The force is strong with this one.......
shame he didnt get it right in the end!
Andertons warehouse basically is what heaven will look like
Cardboard boxes?
@@napalmparade is that the extent of your thinking process? You'd put Einstein to shame.
Very impressed with how quickly Rob knew he was playing his signature guitar. He didn't touch anything but the strings and neck, heard it acousticly, just played it and knew... And then couldn't find the volume knob hahaha
The CAP-10 is Lee's sig. Rob's sigs are the ML-3RC and the Ghost Fret.
He can see out the bottom 😉
Should have tossed in a 6-string bass for a laugh.
Or a 7-string electric like "oh, something's wrong here"
The fucking pillow is hilarious.
If I ever win the lottery, I will call Lee and ask to go into the warehouse and just go round and go "I'll have one of those, one of those and two of them...."
Dan Allnatt That's just what I would do. If you ever win the lottery, please film that, I'll be jealous xD
When I die, bury me in the Anderton's warehouse.
*beat drop*
xD guitar heaven
Eyeconoklast i will make sure that wish will be fulfilled
Eyeconoklast I hear good people go to heaven. I hope to see you there my friend.
Lee: "I didn't know u were allowed to feel up there"
Rob: "I felt there by accident"
hahahahahahahaha
"Smelling should be legal" - Rob Chapman (2015) - Such a poet.
Blindfold amps. One guitar 5 amps.
Sean Hornibrook Valve vs Solid State!
2 guitars - Strat & Les Paul
5 Amps
Sean Hornibrook They've done that already
Dammit....awkward
Steve Langdon No I mean like this - Totally random and take from the whole warehouse.
These blindfold episode are really entertaining! I like how Rebea picked all strat shaped guitars to make it harder, and feeling the hardware was restricted to make it harder still. I think it would be cool to see a little series where it's the same deal, except different shapes. Thegood Guy We all know who you are now, troll.
Something wrong with being gay?
Anonymous Brit
Stop it, you're feeding him
The Good Guy 6=plenty lul
Blindfold test of strings from cheap to expensive
Adam James Rogers Somebody did a corrosion test and it turns out they tend to corrode at the same rate. Don't buy into corrosion resistant strings.
orlock20 If you refer to the one that Ryan Bruce did (aka Fluff) cleartone strings last a lot longer.
orlock20 I'm guessing this excludes stuff like elixir? cause when i play on anything not elixir i have to change strings aftera few days cause i have such sweaty hands. And i've never had troubles with my elixirs
AndKento
The top three strings are protected and at least on mine, the bottom three strings are not.
orlock20 That is BS. Elixirs last MUCH longer
Rob really knows his guitars...He guessed at least the brand of each guitar and you knew he'd known his own products when he was handed the Chapman!
Blindfold semi-hollow (hollow) bodies. I'd like to know if you can hear the difference between a Coronado, a Casino and a Gibson 335 and maybe throw in an Ibanez semi-hollow for kicks. Of course no headstock touching. :-)
Eric Ramseur You can definitely hear a difference between them. They all use different pickups.
Eric Ramseur instead of blindfolding the semi-hollow (hollow) bodies, they should blindfold their eyes, that way the test is more legitimate!
+Chinchillupa Guy hahahaha
one of your best videos by far....very impressive. I learn so much about gear from you guys. thank-you!
Rob and Lee have been doing this so long they really do know these guitars... This was so much fun it should be a bi-annual or quarterly event. Anything more and it would be too hard to do and would get boring for the boys...

26:17, and at that moment, Rob locked eyes with the Ibanez, and stroked it uncontrollably...
This is brilliant, not just the video but how you guys know your guitars as well! Great stuff!
Dunno if you have done this bit you should do a blind fold test with pedals, cheap vs expensive
Yes!
When I clicked the video, that's what I expected/hoped, especially due to "All the gear" in the title. Are we ignoring the fact that the captain guessed a Jackson telepathically?
Spooky.
Craig McClellan SPOOPY
I thought i was the only one that noticed lol
+Craig McClellan i think he also said that the black cap10 felt 'darker' ...
As impressive as any blindfold test could be - you guys know your guitars so amazingly well. Great to watch and I look forward to your next challenge.
Perhaps a blindfold test on various drum kits :)
Love it - keep it coming as we are certainly entertained .
Rob Chapman HMMMM! That's a sneaky sneaky E chord...THE INTERNET SEES ALL
Wut?
LukeBass1000 I thought the same :)
LukeBass1000 good im not the only one that noticed smh
imaymakesomevids he used his palm to feel the head stock, I think that's what he meant.

Absolutely fantastic! So much fun to watch.

this is absolutely hilarious, loving every second of it
This is great. More blindfold tests please!!!
I'd like to see more blind-folded pedal videos. :)
Like you did with the Klon Clones.
Lee Anderton 2015 "I'm supposed to be a businessman"
Guitar Stu I keep telling myself that - i know i'm deluded
CaptAnderton In a world gone mad, I'd say you've made yourself a fine businessman. Your store's still open, the websnet loves you, and you haven't stolen any pensions yet.
CaptAnderton A real business Cpt. Lee! One that you so rightfully and honourably deserve, and your children, and your children's children. Let Andertons be a beacon of honesty, helpfulness and down right Britishness for ever and ever more!
Bri ckle
Studying English Literature does that to you my fellow.
Wow Lee, your tone and intonation playing that Chapman was awesome....
It was fun to see other guitars than just fender and gibson
Going back and watching some of these challenges because they are really enjoyable. Hopefully they do more soon!
what is this a klan meeting?
Ha
Super funny! Thanks guys! I love your game-ish stuff the most!
Lee confirmed to be sort of psychic.
Love all your blind fold videos really gives us viewers a non bias look at the guitars without sight.
Well, that was a train wreck from the start. First thing Lee does is fiddle with the controls. Neck construction, metal back plates, bridge... These are giveaways.
Wow, nicely done Rob.
Great video.
Cheers,
Lee broke both rules by 5:48 XD
Please do another one of these, so entertaining to watch! :)
an acoustic blind test would be amazing!
Awesome vid Rob! I loved the video where you and the captain had to get practical equipment for a gig for under £500, would be awesome if u did more!
It's 5:05am here in Puerto Rico. .and I have to get up in a couple of hours.....still I'm watching this!...\m/
Noel Perez I will be going to puerto rico in a couple of weeks, can't wait.
Hows the weather ºc
I'm puertorican but I've only ever actually been there once :P idk why I felt I had to share that
CaRpkempy14 were going thru a dry period now so it is very very hot!!!.. lots of sun and the beaches look great!
branden garcia come back sometime then!
Noel Perez nice to hear it's hot,
Hola me llamo stephan, we always go in august really hot that month, might see you there.
Well done, Rob. Nailed it. Even the price structure.
I kind of wish I was Birtish so I could screencap Lee with that Pillow on his face and use it as my display picture.
\m/ rock on, from the U.P. of Michigan
Ah boys... You forget that Lee guessed had it right with the Jackson during his Uri Geller moment... that should count for two points
this was brilliant! I loved how rob and lee acted like brothers to each other!
do "blind folded amp overdrive vs pedal overdrive".. could be interesting
Awesome, entertaining video like always guys. Let me just say that out of all guitars cap10 sounds the best! It's incredible. Cheers guys
You guys should do a blindfold test on some overdrive/distortion pedals. What do you think about that? :P
Squeee!! you guys reviewed my new American Strat HH. I'm glad you guys like it as much as I do. Great guitar. Speaking of which, great show. I really appreciate this, the sound like series, etc. You guys are awesome, and can expect to see some pedal orders coming in soon. :)
you really know your shit rob! impressive as hell
Love all your blindfold test. Thanks for having the balls to do them.
Should I get a Chapman guitar?
They are amazing, just got the rabea model yesterday
Adooms Guitars I'll check them out, a lot of people seem to have them haha
Search for UA-cam reviews of Chapman Guitars, there are quite a few and they are really good.
Eddie Ramirez I only read/heard good things about it. I was considering to buy the ML-2, but now I'll wait for the V's.
Well... I'm Rob Chapman and I think you should... :-)
Great vid & challenge! Love the American Standard HH as well!
The thumbnail made me think that there was a jock strap on Rob's head
I'd love to see a humbucker challenge. One guitar type(for ex. multiple chapmans) equipped with stock Epiphone, Seymour Duncan, Gibson, Suhr, PRS, ESP, Bare Knuckle, Fralin etc.. I wonder if manufacturers are recognizable in their "Signature sound".
The Captain guessed Right on brand before he was handed the first guitar! Isn't that worth a point?! 😁
You guys do know that Blue is the fastest color.......
Yes even with guitars. ;)
Great fun video to watch!
Next time put a capo on the first fret so they do't do those sneaky E chords. :)
Why?
Look closely and you shall see!
So they cant feel the headstock
Eh-xac-te-ly dude!
Testacabeza Or maybe not tell them what the guitars are beforehand, this one just seemed a tad sus to me.
Rob's trying out a few Johnny Hiland licks. Very nice.
Have you guys ever played with Dean guitars? You reviewed most of the big brands on these review/challenge videos, but there's no videos with Dean.
MrBX5 They don't carry Dean
Is there any particular reason or it's really because they don't happen to have them?
MrBX5 Yeah I know, I wish I was in their reviews.....
You need to do more of these for different guitar shapes. Really fun watch.
Got my Gibson 2015 les Paul studio last Friday, absolutely love it 💕
In that 20 or so minutes i became conditioned to the pillow ;-; it's now weird to see lee's face...however it does strike me as something a blind person might do to themselves. "Well I can't see shit anyway, so i might as well stick a pillow to my face incase i fall over"
Oh and his name is now Lee "Pillowface" Anderton. That's a rule.
Thegood Guy I can't tell if you are trying to be funny, trolling, or are serious, but either way, you are failing.
Tom Meakin He can open for Bucket Head!
Thegood Guy Yes I am so blatantly gay for Lee...it's just a comment written in good humour, don't cry :)
Oh and did you think noone would notice when you are the only person to like your own comment...? xD
Funny and great guitar showdown.. Keep it up!
How about a review of acoustic guitars?
Ok that film was officially epic :-D And you Mr Chapman are size hahaha
The warehouse looks like something from Indian Jones!!!
Guitar Stu Is that like a Bollywood version of Indiana Jones?
CaptAnderton Brilliant, haha
CaptAnderton I don't know man it doesn't look too far off are you sure you haven't found The Ark of the Covenant hiding behind the PRS's?
Guitar Stu Not that but his father brought back from an overseas business trip many years ago a powerful artifact known as the "Bark of the Woodenant" the MIGHTIEST of TONE woods! And he has yet to know.
that strat looks and sounds gorgeous!
Please don't leave😓😓😓
It's ok I'm only going to Malta for 6/8 months
Rob Chapman What. for real?
Rob Chapman sounds good to me :) maybe I'll see you around
Rob Chapman Are you serious?? No way! ^_^ I'm a Maltese fan so I guess if I'm lucky I'll see you here :DDD
Rob Chapman Oh! Is that where they make Maltesers?
That blue Ibanez sounded heavy and was gorgeous.
Is no one going to talk about the fact that Lee guessed that the first guitar was going to be a jackson?
Another timeless classic !! it was allot of fun to watch !!!
9:31 Ahahah!!! Best laugh ever!!!!!
2:09 Rob - Nathan Barley
ps Kudos for spotting your own guitar. That's a good sign for your customers!
pps 14:10 Maneltoe
Anyone know where that warehouse is, and can lend me a van?
Very entertaining and overall great video! You guys should go for te ultimate LP-type challenge going from something like a cheap Epiphone Les Paul to a Full on Prive Stock PRS type of guitar. I bet that on the upper range (Private Stock vs decent Gibson R9) it should me much harder to judge. Would love to do it myself. Cheers!
Blindfold test on custom guitars that are associated with famous players like Hetfield, Hammett, Cobain, etc.
The 2 main rules were to not touch the headstock or knobs and that's the first 2 things the guy on the right did lol.
True.
So happy you guys tried my first and only guitar i ever bought, that ibanez Rgit20FE nice !
Haha Lee is always so full of shit in these videos XD
When Rabea brought in the Jackson and Chappers said it was the bolt on "profile" that gave it away. Lee right away said that He didn't feel that cus he didn't want to cheat. WTF! He was the FIRST ONE who was touching that and checking it out xD That's when Chappers said that Lee wasn't supposed to feel the structrure of the guitar. Just how it sounds and how it plays xD
Oh Lee... you just never seize to amaze xD
I'd love to see a PRS blindfold challenge - try to tell between the SE Standard, SE, S2, and top range models of the same shape. And maybe some other gear like another one with amps or pedals too would be fun :)
