Very impressed with how quickly Rob knew he was playing his signature guitar. He didn't touch anything but the strings and neck, heard it acousticly, just played it and knew... And then couldn't find the volume knob hahaha

Blindfold test of strings from cheap to expensive
Adam James Rogers Somebody did a corrosion test and it turns out they tend to corrode at the same rate. Don't buy into corrosion resistant strings.
orlock20 If you refer to the one that Ryan Bruce did (aka Fluff) cleartone strings last a lot longer.
orlock20 I'm guessing this excludes stuff like elixir? cause when i play on anything not elixir i have to change strings aftera few days cause i have such sweaty hands. And i've never had troubles with my elixirs

The top three strings are protected and at least on mine, the bottom three strings are not.

These blindfold episode are really entertaining! I like how Rebea picked all strat shaped guitars to make it harder, and feeling the hardware was restricted to make it harder still. I think it would be cool to see a little series where it's the same deal, except different shapes. Do a show with a bunch of different Les Paul shaped guitars, explorer's, V's, maybe a show with all semi hollows... Keep it up guys! I love watching your vids!!

LukeBass1000 Actually, if you watch enough of Rob's videos, you will notice that he slides back to a first position E major using fingers 2, 3, and 4 all the time. If you are switching between barre chords and first position, depending on the situation, this can be a more efficient way of placing the fingers. I don't think Rob was cheating....
Rob and Lee have been doing this so long they really do know these guitars... This was so much fun it should be a bi-annual or quarterly event. Anything more and it would be too hard to do and would get boring for the boys...

When I clicked the video, that's what I expected/hoped, especially due to "All the gear" in the title. I think having ~4 different categories and having them each guess approximately what rank in least to most expensive, and a reasonable price for the perceived quality of OD, reverb, delay etc, would make for an incredible video.

Suggestion: Take 8 guitars, divide them into two sets and have one person play 4 of them. Have the other person blindfolded, guessing which guitar and amp you're playing, then vice versa :D Should be fun ^^

Blindfold semi-hollow (hollow) bodies. I'd like to know if you can hear the difference between a Coronado, a Casino and a Gibson 335 and maybe throw in an Ibanez semi-hollow for kicks. Of course no headstock touching. :-)
Eric Ramseur You can definitely hear a difference between them. They all use different pickups.
Eric Ramseur instead of blindfolding the semi-hollow (hollow) bodies, they should blindfold their eyes, that way the test is more legitimate!

Blind Amp test that involves modern Amp sims such as Kemper and the axe FX. Maybe even some software sims such as Bias or Lepou...

I'd love to see a PRS blindfold challenge - try to tell between the SE Standard, SE, S2, and top range models of the same shape. And maybe some other gear like another one with amps or pedals too would be fun :)

Request: Do a wood challenge. Get strats/squiers/copies at various price points, but with nice setups and fret jobs and pots, and use identical pickups, and see if the wood makes a difference. For example: Standard Squier with agathis, Deluxe Squier with basswood, American Fender with alder, and two other brands. Also identical amps and identical decibels.
Hey... Great Video. You should do one for sound only, you don't get to touch the guitar just listen to someone else play. Seems like you're guessing on whatever knowledge you have of the build, not the sound.
I've got an idea: FX Lucky Dip! Big box of random pedals. You gotta pick out 3 at random and get a decent sound. Or set a target. 'Sound like The Edge with 3 random pedals' or something.

Previous time Captain could tell which line of (PRS If I remember right) by touching controlls, if knobs are all the same than ok.

Lee flat out jammed that strat with 2 humbuckers while blindfolded. He should play like that more often.
In that 20 or so minutes i became conditioned to the pillow ;-; it's now weird to see lee's face...however it does strike me as something a blind person might do to themselves. "Well I can't see shit anyway, so i might as well stick a pillow to my face incase i fall over"

I'd love to see a humbucker challenge. One guitar type(for ex. multiple chapmans) equipped with stock Epiphone, Seymour Duncan, Gibson, Suhr, PRS, ESP, Bare Knuckle, Fralin etc.. I wonder if manufacturers are recognizable in their "Signature sound".
Blindfold test on custom guitars that are associated with famous players like Hetfield, Hammett, Cobain, etc.

When Rabea brought in the Jackson and Chappers said it was the bolt on "profile" that gave it away. Lee right away said that He didn't feel that cus he didn't want to cheat. WTF! He was the FIRST ONE who was touching that and checking it out xD That's when Chappers said that Lee wasn't supposed to feel the structrure of the guitar. Just how it sounds and how it plays xD
