Cool car but I'm curious about the technology behind the infotainment. The tech behind the model 3 is fantastic and it keeps getting better. I would be dissapointed when getting on a model 3 and only having this car. If it is 5-10k cheaper, then I might even consider it
This car looks good for the money. A lot bang for buck. Better as I imagined. Lets hope it drives as well as it looks. Great review as always Thomas! 👍
Looking at this ID.3 I am excited. Not so much for this but for the ID Buzz. I believe it will now look very similar to the concept and I would be all in for that.
Thomas, thanks for creating such high quality videos. Your content is just about the best there is. Plus, you often focus on cars that a mortal can afford.
As an e-Golf owner, I am confident this car is going to absolutely kill it. It’s going to be so much fun to drive with the torque, low center of gravity, even weight distribution, and small turning circle. The perfect city or commute car, and with 300+ miles range it becomes a realistic ICE replacement for most people.
@@dmomcilovic9185 They don't have adequate range for my needs. Get an EV to do around 400 miles, and be rechargeable in 10 to 15 minutes, and maybe I'd be interested but I don't want to have to drink tea or coffee to pass the time every time that they need charging
I appreciate the amount of detail you’d gone into with this. As far as showing the key and opening the front. I was wondering if it’d have “frunk” space or not, so that was nice to see. @Autogefühl - Thomas, once again congratulations on a superb review (it's harder to do at this very high level of production quality than most people realize) with your usual captivating attention to detail and friendly style of delivery - THE best IMHO on the Internet. As for the ID3, my impressions are not QUITE as favourable as they were when you first reviewed the concept a couple of years ago. Restraints, legal and otherwise, in order to market it worldwide, may have played their part in its "redesign" from its original avant guard. As you and your readers know, "show cars" invariably lose in their "translation" into reality : ) At first, I was VERY disappointed that the ID3 would not be introduced into our Canadian market here for another 3 to 4 years - instead, the ID Crozz will come to our shores first. After seeing the ID3, perhaps I am not quite as disappointed as all that : ) I SHOULD however reserve final judgment on the ID3 until I see it in the flesh! In the meantime, two design elements that I'm not in love with are the rather awkward looking air intake on the lower front fascia (it looks like a really plasticky add on) and the small bulge on the trailing edge of the hood near the windshield. Keep up the GREAT work - LOVE your videos Thomas!!!

I'm now actually considering going on the waiting list for the ID3, for all of environmental benefits it has to offer through work, however only under the lease and care package as much as I would love to own it. You mean this dots? I bet it's a design option. I have my problems with the extra cover on top of the hood which conceals the wipers.

Totally agree from a current i3 owner too. The iD 3 concept was even more clear the influence from the i3 but now with the interior details and the gear shifter is more clear for me that the designers have taken ideas from the i3.
I did a reservation for the id3 the same day reservations we're opened but to be honest my first impression is not too positive.. let's see
Renault zoe have killed the i3 in Europe
🤮🤮🤮 ugly exterior and interior looks so poor in the middle hands with nothing on id3 vw
I will keep my I3S 120Ah. Much more quality materials and twice the battery I need per day
Thanks Thomas, great overview that has envoked my interest in this vehicle! I'm now actually considering going on the waiting list for the ID3, for all of environmental benefits it has to offer through work, however only under the lease and care package as much as I would love to own it. If the option was available to own, it would be interesting to observe the resale value due to battery health in the future, although that does seem a few years off from now!
Thanks Kev!
Beautiful car and actually a revolutionary design. Hope the price promise will be kept.
super sad that these will not be coming Stateside :(..... I hate SUVs and Cross-overs, and LOVE hatchbacks, but VW thinks we won't buy it.... I had an golf, but sticking with the Model 3. Thanks for the great review as always!
Some very nice design points that I can see being iconic and people will love but.... I can't get over that gear change, YUCK!!!
It would appear, that is how they change from forward to reverse in an Auto Scania.
No one seems to mind that being the case.
Yeah i waited for that Video. Now i go get a cup of coffee, snacks and watch the whole thing. :)
