One thing I didn't mention: The car is rear wheel drive (RWD), the electric motor is in the back. Under the hood they store other parts, like everything that belongs to charging/converting the power.
@@MacikHU The charging port is sealed off as you could see when they opened the "engine" cover, they surely also thought about a way to get rid of water that flows to the plug. The plug is obviously made for outdoor use and the Nissan Leaf uses a similar style of charging port and location, so it shouldn't be an issue on this car either
This Honda e will be the car that turns the market to EVs. It is really impressive. I will be test driving one as soon it gets available. Thank you Thomas for this great review.
thanks for the most in depth review of the Honda - most youtubers seem to have given it much less time...not sure why...Have had my reserved place for some months and now looking forward to ordering one...good to know the quality has gone up significantly.
Interior looks like a desk with many pc screens. The car is actually made for urban people who mostly work in the office. I do think most of those urban people are already tired of their work in their office. And this interior design may bring that tired to a new higher level.
Honda e - a bold move and a clever move. Friendly overall, but still cool. Thomas says iconic - he obviously loved it - in which case, we do too! Simple and clean design, well made. "The best Honda ever?" Wow - quite some statement - better than the C100? Many thanks indeed Thomas & Jonas for the review.
I love this car. Add it to the long list of cool cars we won’t get in the U. S. 34,000 euro is a bit high but honestly I would pay it. Another great review, keep up the good work.
it costs a whopping €37,000 in Sweden :( i could buy a cheaper car and drive it for ~10-15 years before it would even break even with this expensive Honda E. that is unless the petrol price gets hiked in the coming years.
Stylistically one of the absolute best and most appealing vehicles I've seen. I genuinely love and adore this design. I do wish it had more standard wing mirrors instead of the camera and screen setup. I am also not a fan of the digital rear-view mirror. It would be cool, if this car came with a 3-Cylinder Turbo from Japan, which sits in a Key-Car. 50/50 Weight distribution and low center of gravity? Man! Wouldn't it be awesome if Honda in the future maybe build like a Si or a Type R variant of this car? Imagine something along the lines of 170 horsepower or even 200, that would be fun as hell! Especially with how responsive electric motors are!

an awesome car, I will try get my hands on one for sure. Only concern I have is with the positioning of charging unit on top of the bonnet rather than vertically mounted like most manufacturers have it. I hope there is guttering there to stop rain water flooding the entire charging unit when you leave it to charge outside.
Great review as always. Great little car too. Charge port location seems a bit strange - I wonder how scratched up the front of the bonnet will be after a few years of cables being draped down the front. Overall though a lovely city car - I really like how the rear light design echos the front.

It would be cool, if this car came with a 3-Cylinder Turbo from Japan, which sits in a Key-Car. They use a 660 ccm 3-Cylinder-Turbo and they should combine it with an EV-Engine and a smaller battery, to create a small, cool Plug-in-Hybrid. So than it is very usable for the city and could be used for some midterm distances on the motorway. Or what do you think?
Stefan Wiechmann that would be awesome and I would definitely buy one if they did. I am from Ireland and people travel quite long distances here so the only thing holding me back from buying one is the range.
@@djm_852 I think, it could be the same here. I live in germany. And also the people here travel longer distances here from town to town. So I can truly understand you. 😊
Cool Anton B... That reminds me. In a September 1969 issue of National Geographic Magazine they had an article on future transportation in Ford was experimeniting with some joystick technologies. I remember that one as if it was yesterday. On the front cover there is a young girl dressed in red! Exact title: The Coming Revolution in Transportation.
Love it, but can't afford it. Good work Honda styling team, it's been a long time since the company had unique and attractive design, I hope the years of over-fussy crap are over
I like it, reminds me of a modern version of the old original mk1 honda civic.
I would go for the classic Honda 600...
I instantly liked this design.. that straight, horizontal front grill has an almost muscle-car simplicity to it.
Thanks for video and review... awesome car and should come to Canada/ North America, central and South America
I REALLY like this! It looks a little like the Civic Mk1. The back can also look like the front! I think the screens may be a bit overload but most people will not use most of the functions, as usual! I think my only issue I have with it is the range. There are cars with much better range.
5:10 the motor is not in the front, but in the back. It's a rear wheel drive car.
This will be a fantastic city car!👍
50/50 Weight distribution and low center of gravity? Man! Wouldn't it be awesome if Honda in the future maybe build like a Si or a Type R variant of this car? Imagine something along the lines of 170 horsepower or even 200, that would be fun as hell! Especially with how responsive electric motors are!
Already in love with the car. I can see an hdmi port so the extra screen is probably for that.
Another great video from Thomas. Is this another great car that we will not be able to purchase in the US? Just like the ID 3. Love Autogefühl!
This and the ID.3 supposed to eventually come to North America, maybe by 2022? The Europeans and parts of Asia can work out the bugs and then we get the improved Generation 2? 😅 VW and Honda may have trouble meeting demand. The VW Chattanooga plant is scheduled to make EV, but SUV EVs...www.timesfreepress.com/news/breakingnews/story/2019/jul/12/vw-ford-reveal-electric-vehicle-tie-/498642/
Thank you, yes that seems like that
an awesome car, I will try get my hands on one for sure.
Only concern I have is with the positioning of charging unit on top of the bonnet rather than vertically mounted like most manufacturers have it. I hope there is guttering there to stop rain water flooding the entire charging unit when you leave it to charge outside.
Pump it up yo! I was waiting for that to be said
Really good review!!!
Great review as always. Great little car too. Charge port location seems a bit strange - I wonder how scratched up the front of the bonnet will be after a few years of cables being draped down the front. Overall though a lovely city car - I really like how the rear light design echos the front.
