It's finally here! Check out Josh's Signature Jackson here.. although I think they might be almost sold out already lmao: bit.ly/3UnQ56I
Take a shot when keyan says “yeah yeah”
Damn you. Now it’s all I hear haha
I actually did and I'm super glad I don't work tomorrow
to all that find the price to high .......i bought this guitar and it is so good , feel , build quality, sound. It is on almost the same level as my custom shop Hapas and i find it better than my cs Mayones duvell.
I needed to read this comment. I spent a lot on a recent custom build(wont say their name) and didn't love it, so I'm hesitant to aim for "you get what you pay for" kind of thing. Because on paper I am in love with this guitar, but I also have $1000(USD) guitars that I adore. The ground between is scary to me now lol. So, thank you
I’ve been begging for Jackson to give him a production Sig for a while now but I can’t bring myself to pay THAT much for a Korean guitar. That’s not far from custom shop prices for other brands and it’s higher than most Japanese guitars. It’s a beauty though.
Jackson Custom Shop are in the $4000-$5000 range, so this is still half the price despite Jackson screwing North American buyers.
The price for Jacksons asian made guitars (yes, even the korean ones) is just hilarious. QC is all over the place on these …
The QC on these guitars is insanely good. And I can say that as someone who’s purchased this guitar. I checked two out before I bought mine and they were both faultless so I don’t know what you are talking about
@@jakehancock3941 No, it’s objectively not. I’m friends with the owner of a well known boutique guitar shop (I won’t mention the name here) and he has to send Jackson import stuff back all the time because the QC is so bad.
@@user-te3qq1rb7uah so they’re taking a page out of the Gibson book
why does it feel like i've already seen this
So I've really been searching for a production 7 string with a scale longer than 26.5 and an evertune bridge. But I don't really see the point of still using ebony instead of richlite. Why did he put ebony on this one when he preferes richlite? It isn't even more expensive.
Richlite reacts to being cut very differently than Ebony. That’s gonna come down to the materials purchased and available to use at WMI in South Korea, as well as avoiding the overhead in re-tooling machines to cut richlite.
@@CrzyWzrd4L Ok that makes sense. Thanks
It's tempting, but the 1 piece roasted neck ia a bit scary to be honest. You obviously want to tube down with beefier strings on a guitar like this, but a 1 piece neck... I'd be afraid of wrapping it. I know it has graphite reinforcement rods, but still. Why bot at least 3 piece or more.
I'm really not trying to be a hater.. but this guitar is just such a massive letdown for me. I was really hoping that Josh's signature would be a B7, or at least something more inspiring than a short-horned, flat super strat w/ a strat headstock, and a gloss finish that's fatiguing to look at. Seafoam green is my favorite finish, but not this.. over 2500$ for a MIK? Why, when I could get a B7 for under 2000$, or get a 2nd hand USA Misha sig for less than 1000$ more.
Personally I think it looks great but I agree with you everywhere else. This is once again the bane of Jackson guitars. Their idea of "affordable" import guitars is $2700, and being that its an import Jackson I'm sure the QC won't be anything short of mediocre if history has taught us anything. This guitar should be $1500 and even at that price has some questionable specs like Jackson branded tuners and......wait for it...nickel frets.
I think it looks great but the fact it's MIK is the big letdown imho. Even if it did somehow have quality similar to MIJ or MIA instruments (unlikely since this is Jackson), it'll have much worse resale value too. Nobody will pay 1.5k-2k for this used, so prepare to take a massive hit if you buy at full price and wanna sell. I really wanna like this, and it's probably a sick guitar...but yeah it's a disappointing pass
I agree, I'd never pay $2700 for an import guitar, but you won't get signature Barelnuckle pickups and an evertune for $1500 anywhere tho. Make that a baritone 7 signature guitar and after inflation 1,849€ in Germany is actually not a super bad deal
It's strange I think the US are being charged far more, its only £1400 in the UK
@@Owtyg23 yes there must be something weird going on with the Jackson website, it's 1,849€ in Germany, which is kind of reasonable
Took way to long to put out this part 2
I wasn’t allowed to post it until now ;)
Nickel frets at that price point lol
Josh said he prefers the sound of nickel frets to stainless steel ones, so I guess that's fair.
Still, the USA price point is ridiculous
@@josuastangl7140 that has always been the most widely used bullsh*t excuse for having nickel frets on guitars. All his custom guitars have ss frets, so that point is pretty much invalid.
@@alpenjodel24 ok didn't know his CS guitars had ss frets, then I call bs as well
@@josuastangl7140 Anyone who thinks there is a perceivable sound difference is living in a placebo, especially when you consider the crushing distortion Northlane uses.
@@user-te3qq1rb7u Steel strings contacting with nickel frets absolutely sound different compared to steel strings contacting stainless steel. It’s a 1-2% difference, but it’s still there.
0:35 Which factory does Jackson use in korea? World Music is an instawin!
I unfortunately had another model (Dinky DK Modern Evertune) that was made at world music korea, and the quality control was some of the worst I've seen. The issue isn't the factory, it's really fender/jackson dropping the ball. I was a HUGE fan of jackson and the last two I bought were total garbage. One had a broken nut out of the box and the 5-way toggle switch wired backwards, other had terrible chips in the finish all around the neck pocket and pickup routes, one of them had a fretboard leveling issue where the 24th fret sat higher than all the rest, making low action nearly unachievable without insane buzz. Was glad to be rid of them, which sucks because I loved how they looked and how the necks felt. Haven't had that many issues consistently with any other production brand to this point. I thought I might have accidentally gotten a Jackson labeled Agile or Legator... I really hope they can get better QC, but it's been absolutely among the worst since around 2016-17.
I should add, I'm not trying to be a hater, or discouraging, I'm just sharing my experience with Jackson. They were my favorite brand for a while due to artists who I love playing them. It's just really unfortunate how they've become recently.
3500aud lmao
Australia is a rip off for everything atm.
Edit: just checked the jackson AU website, its actually 5000 aud
@@iamrichlol yeah that's MSRP though
@@predator12212112 ah true true.
I'm not paying over 3 grand for a guitar made outside of the USA
@@iamrichlol murica
Fantastic guitar but makes zero sense from the buyer's prospective. You can get a 7 string same specs and build quality for MUCH cheaper (with room to swap out the pickups with those exact ones if youn wanna get picky).
The people spending that much money for this guitar are the people that want Josh Smith's guitar.
EDIT: nickel frets at this price point... No comment
This editing is way too much...
1)nobody needs a 7string with 27" scale, BRUH. Do it with 29,4"
2)play at 1,25x to hear Josh speaks like a normal human
To me, Josh’s stoner/surfer vibe is one of his best qualities haha. I dig the guitar but like with most things it’s the price point which becomes the issue.
1) Jackson wouldn’t have allowed him to put 29.4 out at a reasonable price
2) he said in the first one he was on 3 hours of sleep
Obsydian - great record
Oh My God💛! The secret to YT success = Promo>SM!!
