I switch between mirrorless and D/SLR all the time. One mirrorless camera (R6 ii) and two d/SLR’s (7D ii and 1DX ii). Shooting field sports I’ve got so much value out of my 7D ii. It hasn’t missed a beat. I reserve my mirrorless body for indoor sports mainly. I can’t afford RF mount lenses so keeping my D/SLRs for now is a no brainer. Great video David 👍
Not if you don’t use the mechanical shutter… I do tend to switch between mechanical and electronic depending on what I’m shooting or how much fps I need.
Actually I don’t care about mirrorless or not, when shooting. I use both systems with EF-lenses only. Naturally the mirrorless cameras are newer, so they have a better autofocus system and they have more silicon power. I’m shooting DSLR’s since the analog days - I even had the legendary 1N-RS -, so I know how to work with “limited” focus points and get top action pictures out of the old bangers. But - as David mentions - the game changer for me with the mirrorless cameras is the possibility to look at and cull pictures in the EVF. With the years my eyes do not get better (or my arms longer 😉) and that’s the only reason why I’m slowly gonna replace my 1DX‘s with mirrorless cameras.
My biggest problem with the R bodies, and I would buy one sooner is, the fact EF lenses don't directly mount, without an adapter, to the R bodies. I believe this was done on purpose, to inconvenience you into rebuying another system of lenses. I'm very happy with my 250D and 5D MKII 🤗 If I were to buy a mirrorless camera it would most likely be the R6 MKII. I like the file sizes.
I find mirrorless better than DSLR in Sport photography Because it is lighter and faster in movement, but as you mentioned, I am still suffering with lenses, as there are no cheap lenses from other companies such as Sigma and Tamron.
In my humble opinion: MIRRORLESS is the way to go. Both full frame and cropped sensors. I still occasionally shoot with a couple of DSLR I kept after getting rid of my older lens and camera collection. Today, 99% of my images are shot with my mirrorless gear. It is like night and day! Enjoy yours and thanks for your post.

I thought the evf latency was due to me having a defective camera. This is the first video I've seen that mentions this. Thanks man.
It was the first thing I noticed when I first tried a mirrorless. You get used to it after a bit, but in the beginning it was weird for sure
A mirrorless camera still have the mechanical shutter, so it have moving parts also.
