If you own a Sony A6400 already, let me know your pros & cons list.
You had it spot on in the video, nothing to add.
The blur while on auto mode 😢
@@wrighthmedia7098 I didn’t mind using auto ISO for the first time but shutter speed and aperture should always be in manual in my opinion.
I don’t have one but it’s on my wishlist. No giveaway?? 😂
@@mattyj2436 not this time unfortunately.
8 year hockey ref and 5 year sports videographer here. The shirts are hilarious! it really is a unique relationship between media and referees. we both want to be in the same spot because that is the best angle of whatever play is going on so of course we are there.
10/10 review right here! Appreciate you taking the time to go out and film in a bunch of conditions to give some thorough feedback.
Thanks man! Felt good going back in the field after spending way to much time inside the office.
I got mine recently, and with the little time I’ve been able to use it I love it so far! Use it with an 18-105mm F4 and Sigma 30mm 1.4 and it makes some great quality video when I film in HLG3! The battery life is doodoo tho.
I did buy a Feelworld MA5 monitor with a 8800mah battery that I use with a dummy battery to power both my camera and monitor, and this is a great solution!
Sounds like a great setup! I hope you’ll be showing us some of your videos in the Facebook group.
It’s been a year is this still a camera you use frequently or have you upgraded?
its 7.5k bro
Love your videos. They are very helpful with superb examples!!!
Thank you! 😊
Hi, there's actually a setting where you can set the shutter button to start and end recording when in movie mode... Love your channel. Has helped me a lot 👍 Have never heard anybody talking about that little hidden gem in reviews etc.
Your awesome dude, such great energy and amazing informing video aswell
Thank you 🙏🏽
I watched a lot of videos about the Sony a6400, but I really like this as sports videography. Thank you!
This was great. Currently using the ZV-1 and was looking for a step up that can do some more action filming. This was helpful in the research. Thank you.
You should probably watch my review of the ZV-E10 as well if you like working with the ZV-1 ▶️ ua-cam.com/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for sharing :) so helpful
Awesome like always 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Thank you 🙌
Brilliant video sooooo helpful thanks 🙏🏻 you can also use shutter button to start & stop video 👍🏻
Great review on a very underrated camera. On the overheating issue, there is a setting in the menu that extends the heat tolerance by quite a bit. Solved all my overheating issues.
Thanks man. And yeah you're right about the overheating fix. Someone else told me that too after the video came out. I should have done more research!
Can I put a lumix g7 in movie mode
Love the video! Super helpful, just got my a6400, after borrowing a6500 for about a couple months.
Great to hear!
I shoot more photos than video, but I agree in terms of color and clarity the a6400 has been the absolute best for me. absolutely no complaints besides occasional focus sputtering
I heard people say that the autofocus is worst in S-LOG2 than with other picture profiles. I didn't notice it myself but what's your take on it?
It’s 2023 and I’m looking to get an a6400 for mirrorless wedding and wrestling photography. Would you recommend it? Thanks
This is the info I've been looking for for months
You should also check out my video on the Sony ZV-E10 if you’re in the market for a new budget camera.
@@BeyondTheGame_E thank you
Amazing I been waiting for somebody to give me the help I need
Welcome to the channel my friend, there's plenty more where that came from!
Brilliant job once again! You'll make me leave mobile videography with this once! QQ: let's imagine I would go for this camera... do you think a 24-105mm lens is ok for soccer behind the scenes videos? I'm like recording from behind the goal and don't need that much zoom, and at the same time need to record some celebrations from close range! I can tell you I don't trust any other youtuber for this one ahahahaha
Yes, that would work. I used that lens to film the basketball footage you see in this video.
Thanks for using it on an NRL game 🙌🏾💯
Thankyou so much! Deserves way more views
Hopefully it will get there.
Hi sister
@@grant.s7865 Hi brother
Great video! Interested in the Sony A6400 for basketball and football videos. Would you recommend using it on a tripod for stabilization or buying lenses with in body stabilization? How do you deal with the footage not being shaky because all your stuff looks clean?
For me it highly depends on what I'm filming. If I'm filming outside on a football field, I need a zoom that can go up to 200mm to get close-ups. So I definitely need a tripod because all my handheld sport action when I'm fully zoomed in is going to be trash. But if I'm filming basketball and I can be on the sidelines, I'll probably film handheld so that my movements are faster and it's easier (for me) to keep the ball in frame. So to answer your question, if you have a long zoom you absolutely need a tripod. If not, a bit of stabilisation in the lens might be all you need.
This was my first camera. Great starter camera. I added a battery grip to it and it had an even better feel. For those looking for an upgrade from this, the Sony A9ii is absolutely incredible. Side note: I do more photo than video
Thanks for the valuable info.
I’m currently looking for a beginner camera to make my videos look better for sports do you think the upgrade to the Sony A9ii is a big improvement for video as well or not so much?
@@notyouraverageguy7696have not really used it for video so unable to answer your question.
Great Review!
Thank you!
Fantastic review! Rolling shutter is terrible but...we got plugins for that. I know YT compression is terrible but this camera needs temporal NR for lower light. In your shots, I can see the noise but it might be the YT compression.
Yeah it's probably a combination of both but most 8-bit footage will show some level of noise in the shadows on UA-cam.
Great video 😇👏🏼
Thank you!
I found one of these used for around 600$ usd on marketplace a few months ago and I jumped at it. I initially got it for a photography class at my university, but now that I have got into video, I’m super happy about its capabilities ESPECIALLY the 120fps at 1080p because I wasn’t even looking for that feature when I bought it.
Now I’ve bought a nice Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 G2, the first gen Tamron 70-180m 2.8, a rode video mic, cage, side and top handle, and I have a v mount battery + external monitor on the way. Little worried about the overheating, especially since I will be shooting baseball, but still super happy with the investment so far.
Sounds like you're fully ready for baseball season!!
10/10 Amazing review . I am planning to buy this camera to record Cricket game who is close to 4 hours. I am planning to keep extra SD card and battery if needed . Planning to put on Tripod and record the whole gamer. How do you thing the camera will do with Zoom since I have to do some zoom and shoot from Boundary which is like 70 to 80 yards similar to that you used for Rugby game . Request you suggestions
The zoom will depend on the lens, not the camera. For cricket you’ll need a lens that has a maximum zoom of at least 200mm.
Thanks for the tip. What lens would you recommend for filming outdoor on a soccer/football field?
It depends on your budget and how close/far you are from the action. A Sony 18-200mm lens will catch everything from anywhere but the image quality is not the best. A 70-200mm F/4 or F/2.8 on the other hand will offer much better image quality but it is also more expensive and you will struggle to frame any action happening less than 10ft away.
Man i love your videos. Did you shoot that whole basketball game handheld? I'm planning on making a content of basketball highlights in our place here in the Philippines and I'm planning to use the sony zv-e10. Do you think it can match the capabilities of the sony a6400? And what lens would you recommend?
Yes I filmed the basketball handheld. And yes the Sony ZV-E10 can do everything the A6400 does. I actually made a video about it ua-cam.com/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/v-deo.html I also made a video about the lenses I recommend for it right here ua-cam.com/video/omGdWeu0LLg/v-deo.html
Great video! I have an a6400 and I use the 18-105 for my sons' basketball games. Now I just need to learn to shoot in slog2.
If you don’t mind me asking, what lens do you have on it?
I shoot my skating vids with it using 18-105 F4 I love it,,just shoot in auto to save time. Just wish it was weather sealed😀
Thanks for the input. Very helpful. I'm a high school sports media teacher and need something at this level that my students can use but not too expensive incase they accidently bump it or break it. Plus, I LOVE THE SHIRT! Dam refs always getting in. my way, lol! I'm going to order one and gift a few to my sports media students. Thanks again!
That’s awesome! By the way, you should look into the Sony ZV-E10 as well. I made a video about it too ua-cam.com/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/v-deo.htmlsi=EIgWrH90OUnBTduY
What iso were you shooting at during the basketball game. That looks like a dark arena for the 24-105 and the 6400 sensor. Looks great
That was so long ago now so I have no idea but it was up there. There was a little bit of grain showing at times depending on where I was shooting but with the film burn overlays added in the edit, no one would notice.
I'm searching for a solution to regularly stream Tablesoccer Matches with OBS. Our Streaming PC is in another room, so I think that HDMI and USB aren't an option. I've found this NDI cameras but the overall camera quality of the NDI cameras under 1k doesn't seem to be compareble to this one of this video (Not sure if it is because of the small sensors). Which solution and camera can you recommend for me?
Thank you and keep up the great work!
You should look into portable streaming solutions like Yolobox for example. I’ve never used it myself but the UA-cam reviews are pretty good. Especially for the latest pro version.
Great video. Have you looked at the RX10 IV though? It looks like a great all in one setup and cheaper since you wont need and extra pro lens. That might be a cool video for you to make.
I haven’t seen or used it yet. I’ll have to look into it. Have you used it yourself?
@@BeyondTheGame_E I've seen and used it a bit at a Sony presentation. It has some limitations though I think the upcoming version V might be better if they make the zoom faster, lens constant f2.8 instead of 2.4-4 and add back the integrated ND filter. Also adding USH-II and the Z battery will make is a beast.
@@BeyondTheGame_E that Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 looks pretty good especially for its price.
@@35259edgarboudaher I think you might end up costing me a lot of money! 😂
@@BeyondTheGame_E what can I say, I'm a good salesman. Did I mention it has image stabilization so I'm help with the A6400?
I just found your channel today and have been consuming several of your videos. Did you have any trouble with rolling shutter using the Sony a 6400? I am considering getting the Sony a6600 To film my niece in gymnastics, but I’ve heard the rolling shutter is horrible.
I didn’t notice it so I guess it can’t be that bad. But to be fair, I didn’t look for it or test it. If you want my personal opinion, rolling shutter is an issue that I feel is getting a bit blown out of proportion on UA-cam these days. It feels like it’s the thing to complain about when you can’t find anything else to complain about. And that no one really notices it until it’s pointed out to them. But anyway, enough of my rolling shutter rant and thank you so much for watching my videos. It’s really appreciated.
@@BeyondTheGame_E many thanks for your response and videos.
Love the channel! Looking to purchase my first camera and lens, likely going to go with the a6400 for sports photography and videography, is the Tamron 70-180 mm a good option for action sports (primarily basketball from the sidelines)? Looking at that lens option due to a smaller budget. Any other lens recommendations? Thanks!
The Tamron 70-180mm is a great lens. I use it myself. But there's no internal stabilization though so if you use it on a camera that doesn't have stabilization either (A6400), it can be hard to get good stable shots handheld especially when fully zoomed-in at 180mm. Also, when filming from the sideline, even the widest shot at 70mm will be too tight when players are just a few feet away you. Have a look at this video I made that explains it all ua-cam.com/video/omGdWeu0LLg/v-deo.html
@@BeyondTheGame_E Thanks so much for the insight, this helped alot. Would the 28-75 Tamron work better from the sideline area then? I've been stuck between choosing that or the 70-180 if I can only purchase one to start out.
@@champjjallday15 That's my personal choice yes but to each their own. Some prefer to have a longer lens especially if you intend to take photos. Also, the 28-75mm is a bit too short to film outdoor sports like football for example.
Wish you talked about focus though, is that manual focus or did you use any auto to maintain focus during the action (especially that rugby footage)
It was all shot in autofocus continuous wide mode.
I bought the Sony Handyman for basketball use, now I'm back watching your video lol.
A second camera angle can’t hurt!
When shooting the basketball footage did you use a color profile? I shoot on a Sony a7iii and for lowlight gyms shooting in slog is difficult because I can’t get the proper exposure without bumping my iso to high in which case I get to much grain.
It was a long time ago but I think I was using Cine2
Hi mate looking to try a picture profile , do you recommend one for a6400 filming soccer , and easiest to grade ? Do I grade before I ad a lut ? Would appreciate any advice
Like I said in the video, personally I like Cine 2. It’s not as flat as S-LOG though so you don’t need any utility lut, you can just grade to your liking manually or with a creative lut.
Now that the new Sony ZV-E10 is out, would you still recommend this for the sub 1K range.
It’s hard to say without having had a chance to try the new ZV-E10 camera.
Im curious on your thoughts of the sony zv e10 or the more convenient canon m50 for beginners. Im just getting into youtube content and interestingly enough filming nrl content (not nrl but my own street skill style) would you still recommend the a6400 for me. It wont be played on the full field, rather a smaller section of the field.
The Sony ZV-E10 does seem like a better option these days than the A6400. It has a few more useful features that the A6400 does not have and it is also cheaper. But I personally haven't used it yet so I can't confirm how great it is or not. I do plan to do a review as soon as I can get my hands on one. As far as the Canon M50 is concerned, it only records 100/120fps in 720p and not 1080p. It also has a EF-M mount which means that you'll need an adaptor for your EF lenses or, if you buy EF-M lenses, you'll need new lenses when you'll get a new camera.
@@BeyondTheGame_E Appreciate the response mate, ive heard too many good things about the sony zv e10!
Any recommendations on finding a cameraman?
i’m planning on doing most of the work myself for now (equipment, editing etc). But I’m in front of the camera for these bigger shots. When i do my other skits/sketches/talking heads i do that myself no problem.
I’ve looked around on fiver but genuinely thinking just having a friend do it would work just as wel obviously not as clean
There’s plenty of freelance videographer groups on Facebook that are location based. It’s usually a good place to start looking.
Will a Canon EOS Rebel T7 DSLR shoot good sports video? I know its a camera mainly for photography but just wondering what you think.
You can’t film slow motion footage with it so I wouldn’t recommend it for sports.
You can actually put the shutter button as the record button. You just have to search in the menu somewhere 😅
True!
Is there a lens that you would recommend to pair with this camera for filming a goalkeeper in soccer matches from the sidelines (mainly outdoor games in the day)? I see that you were using the Sony 70-200mm for the rugby match, but I'm hoping to find something that will do the job for much less $$$ than that.
What’s your budget?
@@BeyondTheGame_E I'd like to stay $1250 or less if possible... but if the gains are significant, then I'd go a bit higher.
@@joshgallant344 If you get the 70-200mm but buy the F/4 instead of F/2.8, you should be within your budget. Especially if you buy it second hand.
What camera would you recommend for basketball videos where the in-game sound is clear and where I can also talk to the camera and capture my voice and the voice of others on the fly. I want to start recording my pickup games. But I want to capture the sounds of the surroundings. It will be entertainment-oriented.
It’s not so much about the camera but more so about your audio inputs. Ideally you want two separate inputs. One for the game and one for the interviews. The microphones will give you the level of quality that you pay for. A shotgun mic would be best for the game and probably a hand mic for the interviews.
@@BeyondTheGame_E I appreciate your quick response. On a side note, I love your editing style of this video in the beginning. Awesome creativity.
I may have to specify what I initially said. When I say my pickup games, I am referring to games I play in. They would be similar to Tjass videos and Dvontay Friga and Cashnasty, to name a few. I am aware that dvontay friga has a mic attached to his shirt. I'm not sure if it's the mic on his camera capturing the in-game sound or the mic on his shirt.
I am looking for quality video recording to capture my gameplay + clear audio for the in-game sound effects-dribbling, shooting, shoes on the court, etc. I plan to get a separate mic for my voice inputs.
Is the camera in this video a good fit, or do you recommend something else?
@@JSleepless Thanks for the love! Most of the videos shot by these guys just have audio coming from a shotgun mic on top of the camera. But when they are talking while playing on the court away from the camera then yes they are wearing a lapel mic on their body. The Sony 6400 only has one input so you can connect a shotgun or a lapel but not both. But what most people do in this situation is record the second audio source on a seperate recorder, like a Zoom Audio Recorder for example, and sync it all in post.
What do think about the Sony a6000 mirrorless camera two lens kit 16-50mm and 55-210mm lenses?
I think they are exactly like all the other kit lenses out there. Very average quality but practical and convenient, especially for a beginner.
I’m really new to cameras, looking to but this for a family member to film me, i and a jiu jitsu athlete so sideline view of mats is really often what’s a good lense for that type of filming ??
The lens in this video would probably be ideal ua-cam.com/video/MP84NHcRBHw/v-deo.html
Thank you
You’re welcome ☺️
What mic are you using on that camera? I shoot biking mostly and the raw sounds are a huge part, and my camera does not have a great built-in mic. I need something good for the money, I'm on a pretty tight budget.
I used a Rode Videomic Pro. Rode is usually the way to go for affordable good quality audio.
I'm late but can you tell me what lens and microphone you used for when you filmed the games? Thank you.
The microphone was the Rode Videomic Pro and the two lenses I used are mentioned in the description of the video.
Your thoughts on the canon m50 for basketball videos and UA-cam clips ?
It’s not the best camera in the world but it’s a good place to start.
could i ask what video tripod you use or any recommendations on one starting out. thanks
My tripod recommendation is in this video ua-cam.com/video/lSm3vsko5FI/v-deo.html
Hello there I'm writing from California USA I'm a soccer players and I would like to ask which camera would you recommend me and what tipe of lenses to record a game from the line side thanks
This camera is a good one for beginners. So is the ZV-E10 (here's my review video ua-cam.com/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/v-deo.html). You can see which lenses I used for this video in the description. If they are too expensive for you, I typically recommend these ones instead ua-cam.com/video/omGdWeu0LLg/v-deo.html But ultimately you will need someone to manipulate the camera though. You can't just leave it on a tripod while you play and expect a great result.
How does it do in full bright sunlight? I'm looking for a camera to shoot baseball pictures and I live in Las Vegas.
If you are talking about the camera potentially overheating, it could happen in these conditions especially if you are filming video at 120fps. But if you are simply taking photos, I don't think you would have any overheating problems. But if you are talking about the image being too bright, that's going to be the same for any camera. To keep using a low f-stop in the sun, you'll need ND filters for your lenses.
Would you recommend this camera over the Sony ZV-10? My interest is fitness video in the gym ?
I've never used the Sony ZV-10 myself but from what I can tell it seems to be a very similar camera but slightly cheaper.
I want to start filming oztag which is a variation of rugby. Oztag has tournaments that go for 3 days during hot summer days, so I was wondering if there is a way to reduce the overheating?
I also was wondering if you connect any lens and filters to any camera? Im sorry if this is a simple question I’m only just learning how to film for oztag 🙏🏾
There's not much you can do to reduce overheating other than going easy on your camera by shooting at a low frame rate, low bitrate, and low resolution. But a low bitrate and low resolution also means low quality. Regarding your second question, lenses and mirrorless cameras come separately so yes you need to connect them together. And if you're filming outdoors, you will need a variable ND filter if you don't want to be overexposed.
@@BeyondTheGame_E thanks so much you’ve taught me more in 3 hours than 20 weeks of media arts at school so thanks 🙌
@@tylertofa7992 That's good to hear, thank you!
Would you say this would be a good starter camera to do filming and photos for motocross? Dirtbikes tend to go fast and would need a good zoom lens as well
Yes I think so but like you said, the lens will be the big difference maker for motocross.
@@BeyondTheGame_E good to know. A6400 or ZV-E10? Seems like e10 has more capabilities and is a bit cheaper but is it good for action filming and photos do you think?
@@unknownmember99 I haven't had a chance to use one yet but it seems like it can do anything the A6400 can.
What camera would you recommend to steam sports - specifically volleyball. Cheers
If you're live streaming I would recommend using a camcorder and not a mirrorless camera or DSLR. But I haven't used a camcorder in years so I wouldn't be able to tell you which one to get. It also heavily depends on your budget at the end of the day.
Love ur video

Hey E!
Do you think the new 70-200 f2.8 GM II will work well with the A6400?
Yes, from what I saw in the reviews so far it's pretty much the best 70-200mm F2.8 on the market so it should work well with any Sony camera.
@@BeyondTheGame_E Thanks!
First an foremost, be for everything use from action packed motocross racing, to still shots and venturing going to do friends weddings etc.. but hwg…
I’m getting into my first camera, I’m getting ready to start your video here so I have not watched it yet as I wrote this just a heads up, BUT, my go to beginner camera was looking like a Canon 7D Mark II with a 70-200/they also have a 70/300 used im looking at.
. Now I’m not sure if you are familiar with motocross racing but I also need a good close up lenses for photos off the bikes, them in the area getting candid shots from not to far of distances. Hopefully auto correct didn’t slaughter this to bad. I don’t have a huge beginner budget, but I don’t want to compete color wise with some of the best cameras out to date. So if there’s a entry level that’s just a tad more… let daddy know!!!! Hahah
Hey there, the Canon 7D mkII is quite old with old technology when it comes to things like autofocus, recording time limits, etc. I would personally look at the Sony A6400 in this video or the Sony ZV-E10 in that video ua-cam.com/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/v-deo.html. Regarding lenses, the 70-200mm is a great choice but you might need an extra one to capture things from up close. Something between 24 and 50mm should do. Hope this was helpful!
I'm just venturing into videography/photography for the kiddies. They are into sports now. That lense you used isn't so budget my friend lol
I don't think I claimed it was. Either way, there are plenty of cheaper options available. They just won't be as good obviously.
@@BeyondTheGame_E The reason I clicked on the video is that I was looking for a budget camera to watch my son's baseball games. If the camera is at a good price but then there are numerous other very expensive additions that are required then the wole package is ultimately not budget friendly. Most of u8s are not experts and so I wanted to get some help finding an affordable camera but this addition makes it where this is not under a 1000. Sort of makes the video title misleading for those of us who are amateurs. I walk away from this video still not having an affordable option.
@@serbmd To be fair, the title clearly indicates that I'm talking specifically about the camera. And I'm purposely not pushing people to use or buy the lenses I used in the video because there are many budget options available that would do a decent enough job. I actually have several videos about budget lenses for sports videography on my channel.
What lens would you recommend for this camera that would work best amongst various sports (softball, basketball, volleyball)
Depends on a few things like your budget and the distance you hope to cover. The ideal lens for sports in terms of image quality is a 70-200mm f/2.8. But this is an expensive lens and 70mm might be too tight if you are filming things up close. In this video I film basketball from the sidelines with a 24-105mm f/4 lens which is good and more affordable but doesn't have enough zoom range to cover outdoor sports.
@@BeyondTheGame_E Thank you for your timely response, I appreciate you engaging with me. Can you recommend anywhere where I can find the f/4 lens that you used fo this video?

What are the settings you use for recording indoor basketball games
These ones ua-cam.com/video/TOuOslm5jeY/v-deo.html
Whgat kind of lens do you use for sports vidoegraphy for the a600
If you have a look in the description you'll see the two lenses I used in this video.
I am going to Budds Creek AMA PRO MOTOCROSS 8/20/2022 wondering what camera I should use to film? I think this is going to be a special race for many reasons. MX of Nations announced, last time to see some of the GREATS, the 450 competition for first... I am not a professional, so not looking to spend thousands. May be the only time I use the camera.
This camera would be fine but the lens will also play a big role. Depending how far you are from the action you might need a long zoom lens.
Hello which is the best camera phone to take badminton videos
I only know iPhones so the latest iPhone would be my answer but I know absolutely nothing about androids.
What would you suggest for outdoor Bathurst Motorsport hot day ?
I've never filmed motorsports but the mirrorless camera I've been recommending to all sport videography beginners this year is the Sony ZV-E10. Here's the review I made about it if you're interested ua-cam.com/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/v-deo.html
I want to start recording my boys football games… Is this camera pretty good with zoom? Or which camera would you recommend with the best zoom?
Mirrorless cameras don't have zooms per say. The lens has a zoom and comes separately. So you need to buy the right lens with the zoom range you desire.
What software do you use to edit videos? Newbie here!
I use Premiere Pro.
What lense is best? What lense did you use for the basketball shoot?
I was using a Sony 24-105mm F4 but these days I recommend this one ua-cam.com/video/MP84NHcRBHw/v-deo.html
Just curious what type of lens are you using on this games ? Thank you sir and God bless
At basketball I was using the Sony 24-105mm f/4. At the rugby league match I was using a Sony 70-200mm f/2.8. Thanks for your support!
@@BeyondTheGame_E thanks
What mic were you using in the thumbnail?
Videomic pro
Would you recommend the a6400 or the ZV-E10
Here’s the video I made about this exact question ua-cam.com/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/v-deo.html
Settings video for basketball?!?! I have been looking and can’t find an in-depth explanation
It's a bit hard because different cameras and different filming conditions will lead to using completely different settings. But making a video about how to navigate through all that would be a good idea I think. I'll see what I can do!
Does the Sony A6400 have wifi connectivity? We are looking for a camera solution that has wifi.
Yes it does. What do you need the wifi connection for?
Can you live stream with this camera? I doubt their would be an hdmi on this camera but I'm not sure. I'm looking for a camera for streaming my schools sports events.
Yes you can livestream with it. There are a few videos on UA-cam that explain how to do it. And there is an hdmi port but it’s a mini-hdmi I believe and usually they are not as stable as the full size. So typically it’s fine if you’re not moving the camera too much but not so great if you’re filming handheld for example.
@@BeyondTheGame_E Ok thanks!
Did you film 1080 120p and 4k 25p at the same time?
No you can’t do both simultaneously.
Hey what lense we’re you using for with the camera for those videos

now in september 2022 which one is better for all aspects zv e10 or a6400?
I actually made a video about this very topic ua-cam.com/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/v-deo.html
Hi there, what lens do you use?
I mostly use the 2 lenses I reviewed in this video ua-cam.com/video/omGdWeu0LLg/v-deo.html
does the camera come with a lens or is that separate? If it is separate then it is more than $1k, yes?
The lens come separate but the stores usually offer the option of buying a bundle with a kit lens (not great lenses though). But yeah, camera with a lens will most likely go over 1K.
What are ur thoughts about rolling shutter?
Personally I think rolling shutter is a very overrated complaint. To see it, you need to swing your camera laterally very aggressively and I can’t think of one occasion where someone would do that on purpose and want to use the footage in their edit. Never in my life have I heard someone say “ I had a great shot but it was ruined by my rolling shutter”.
What lens did you pair it with. I need to upgrade from my 18-135 kit lens
At basketball I was using the Sony 24-105mm f/4. At the rugby league match I was using a Sony 70-200mm f/2.8.
@Joey Grimland No worries man. Here's the link to the lens I used for basketball amzn.to/2ST5hP6 and here's the link to the lens I used for rugby amzn.to/33NVL1X these are not cheap lenses though, they are great for a reason!
@@BeyondTheGame_E so until I get the $1,000 lens, I need to find out if my Canon Zoom Lens EF 75-300mm will work with the Sony A6400. If it does, that’ll at least get me started!!!
@@OutdoorChroniclesPodcast It will if you buy an EF lens adaptor but the autofocus won't be as good as it would be with a native lens. Like I mentioned to you on Facebook, it's worth looking at Marketplace, Ebay, etc. for deals on used Sony glass.
How did you make 4k clips slow motion
No the A6400 footage in this video is all 1080.
Is the canon EOS 60D good for sports videography?
Technically you can use any camera but the fact that with the Canon 60D you'll need to record in 720p if you want to do any slow motion is definitely not great.
Hi! I'm thinking about buying this camera with the Sony lens 55-200 is a good deal? I was thinking about the canon 90D because I already have Canon lenses, but I'm struggling with my decision, this camera looks super AWESOME! What would you recommend me? I know I ask a lot, but I'm taking my job seriously 😅
Sony E 55-210 Mm F4.5-6.3 Oss (sel55210) this lens to be precise 😅
This is a good camera choice for the price but personally I would go for an 18-200mm lens instead of 55-210. This is a cropped sensor so if your filming from up close you are not going to fit a player’s full body at 55mm.
@@BeyondTheGame_E what about buy a ring adaptor for my canon ef lenses?
You can do that too. The image quality will be fine but the autofocus will not work as well.
@@BeyondTheGame_E it'll be better go for the canon 90d instead the Sony ??
Nice
If I don’t necessarily have $2000 to drop on a lens, what is a good reasonably priced option to pair with the a6400? Also I guess because of shortages the Amazon prize is raised to $1,129.99. Is that still a good price point or would you upgrade to something else for $300-400 more with the $230 price increase?
I’m going to be shooting my brothers lacrosse games if that info helps. Thank you!
Regarding the lens, it depends what you are willing to sacrifice and what zoom range you are after. You can get budget lenses for $500-700 that will give you all the zoom range you need but they will not be as sharp, the autofocus won’t be as good and they will have a variable aperture. But I used those for years and was ok with it. I just depends on your expectations. I have videos about budget lenses on my channel if you want some suggestions.
Regarding the camera, it is still the original price on B&H so I would suggest buying it there instead of Amazon. But I do have a video coming soon about a cheaper camera I’m testing right now. Might be worth waiting for that.
@@BeyondTheGame_E thank you for the response! I didn’t know if B&H was reputable! I’ll definitely look there and wait for your new video before buying! Do you also have videos on what settings to use for beginners and how to shoot? Thanks again, subscribing now!
B&H is the most reputable camera store in the world so you should be fine. And no I don’t really have a video specifically about camera settings yet but thanks for the idea, I might eventually do it with the one I’m testing.
what lens are you using with the camera ?
The two lenses I used with the camera are in the video description.
Do you think the canon r50 is better than this? Debating between these too. Mostly shooting and videoing motocross and cars/bikes on a racetrack
I’m guessing you mean the M50. I’ve never used it but from what I know, it is a similar camera but definitely not better than this one.
@@BeyondTheGame_E no canon released a new R50. but im leaning towards this once since it has weather protection and more lens variety. Great video tho!!!
@@Jc3Films oh I see. I definitely can't help you then since I didn't even know that camera existed but it seems like you've made up your mind anyway.
Did you use any lenses? Abs if so, can you please tell me which lenses?
I used a Sony 24-105mm F4 for basketball and a Sony 70-200mm F2.8 for Rugby.
@@BeyondTheGame_E I just checked the price for the lense and it really sucks how I can only purchase the camera on its own and work a couple more moths just to get a lens 😕. But I guess we all gotta start somewhere so I’m not giving up.
@@notjaison there are other options available at more reasonable prices. You just have to be willing to compromise on something.
What lens would you recommend for sports videography
I made a video about that too. You can find it here ua-cam.com/video/omGdWeu0LLg/v-deo.html
I’m a clueless man but can these videos be cropped to fit the Instagram reels type videos?
Yes of course. You can either film sideways or just crop each side of your image in the edit.
Here’s a video that might help you ua-cam.com/video/bHdLvALuWtM/v-deo.htmlsi=GP9c8Ib5wFwPEUU-
what camera did you use to film this video
Well obviously all the sport action was shot with the Sony A6400. Everything else was shot with a Canon EOS R.
