I remember taking Malevon Creek with the boys after a long day of school back in the summer of '96, good times

When I was a Helldiver, we scoured the maps for the simplest of the samples

There's a lot you can wring out of a MIDI with a good WaveTable. I remember how good MIDIs could sound on a SoundBlaster AWE64 if you set it right.

Playstation and saturn might have used a lot of these, cause it's cheaper, but those console will mostly be remembered for cd quality music coming to home consoles.
Tekken, ridge racer, wipe out, tomb raider, mgs, ff8 intro etc is what comes to mind when thinking 32 bits music.

I like the music for the music, but PSX games had real music in them, there were mp3 files even back then. If the synth style music were in any of the games it was a stylistic choice, mp3 real audio can be and was used. So games from the original PlayStation didn't sound like this by default, it was a choice.

    Wait couldn't the PS1 run CD-Quality music?
Which soundfonts were you using for this *actual BANGER* if I may?

Squaresoft at the time tended to use a variety of sound libraries at the time but did lean heavily on Sound Canvas (sc-55 sc88), that's what I use.
So the PS1 could do CD quality music but a lot of game studios didn't do a whole bunch of live recordings due to production constraints. But usually just look at any synthesizers from the 90's and you could probably find them somewhere in a game soundtrack.

How did you make this? Is it some kind of filter over the original, or did you actually input all the notes manually into software?
