“Mi AX3600: Xiaomi’s Best Wi-Fi 6 Router”
In this video, I will unbox, setup, and perform a full review of the Mi Router AX3600 AIoT WiFi6 router. I will unbox the router and show you how to set up the device using the Mi WiFi App as well as the Web Interface. I will also go through all the features of the router. I will perform speed tests and range tests, and compare it to the Huawei AX3 Pro using iPerf Bandwidth measurement tool. The AX3600 supports the 160MHz bandwidth, Game Acceleration, and Mesh Networking like the Huawei AX3 Pro Router.
In the future, I will make a Mesh Network between the Xiaomi Mi AX1800 and Redmi AX5 Wi-Fi 6 Routers, and conduct a speed and range test of the entire mesh network.

You are just using a 5G phone. Your router is only reaching 39mbps. 12:38 time of your clip shows the proof.

VPN gateway on hardware routers not is not recommended, because hardware routers have slow CPU for applications (VPN software)

Do you have the huawei ax3 dual core version? seems like it doesnt have any reviews in youtube because people only review the Pro version and I wanted to buy it, but I saw that the dual core version doesnt have any signal amplifier in the 5ghz network, and I would like to see the 5 ghz signal range test with the ax3 dual core and decide if its worth buying.

Hello DSmart! Very helpful review, I wanted to ask you a question: If I push and hold the reset button on the router, will it restart AND reset everything back to factory setting? I had no idea why my router acted up, it showed the upper orange light, so I tried resetting it with the button. After that I had to set it up like a new one again....

Good review mate... finally proper speed test stats ... i have the ax3 pro but tempted to get the ax3600 .. do you think its worth it for so much bigger device.. double the antenna's but not a huge difference in speed ... have you had a chance to test with a 160mz device yet
Sorry, I haven't got a 160Mhz device to test with. I think the max speed will retatively be there same but the range is better with AX3600 with more signal amplifiers. But since you already have a Huawei router, and if you need more WiFi coverage, I think you better go with the same brand that have support for a mesh connection for coverage extension. Thanks.

Can You tell me was it chinese or global version? Chinese version has better antena power / range, global version is limited by EU regulations.
Mine was Chinese version. The hardware is the same, only the firmware is different. If you want Chinese firmware, you can just install it, irrespective of the hardware version. The download link is in the video description. Thanks.

Great videos. There are 2 things we should really thank you for. First is your videos that are really helpful and informative and secondly putting the time and effort to answer people questions on the comments.
Now I would really appreciate it if you could help me making a decision. I saw almost every review and comparison between these 3 routers: ax3600, ax6 and ax3 pro. Every review shows an advantage to a router and disadvantages of the other 2 which really doesn't help in making decision. So I would appreciate it if you can recommend based on my house layout. My family house is 3 floors and each floor is around 400-450 sqm and I have around 30 smart devices between smart switches, TV boxes, smart sockets, sensors, etc. None of them is from xiaomi
This is what I decided to do and I hope you can verify based on your experience:
1. Ax6 is exactly ax3600 without aIoT antenna so it should give relatively the same range and speed and number of connected devices right?
2. The AIoT antenna in the ax3600 doesn't help to connect these non xiaomi devices to the ax3600 exclusively through this antenna so it is like if it doesn't exist. Is that right?
3. The ax3 pro has slight lower coverage and speed than the other 2 although it has 4 antennas but the coverage difference doesn't justify paying the extra amount to get the ax3600 so 2x ax3 pro would do better job aren't they?
4- most of the reviews test the network speed and coverage using WiFi6 but most of our devices are not wifi 6 so what is the coverage and performance for non wifi6 devices?
5- which device would you recommend knowing all the previously mentioned case?

1. No, they aren't exactly the same. Even though the processor is the same, the difference comes in the network amplifiers. The network amplifiers in AX3600 are more powerful than the AX6.
2. Yes that is right. It is not needed for non Xiaomi devices.
3. Yes 2x AX3 pro might be better in coverage than a single AX3600. However for a good connectivity, it iwll be better to use an Ethernet cable between the two AX3 Pros. Note that International version of AX3 and AX3 Pro are not as powerful (Different hardware) as the one I have shown (Chinese Version).
4. Coverage will be the same in Wi-Fi 5 devices. The speed may be a little less though.
5. Since you have a 3 floor house and if you want to cover the entire area, at least 2 routers will be needed. 3 will be ideal for each floor. I would say AX6 or AX3 Pro will be good, considering the price. However currently the AX3600 also got a price cut I think, ahead of the AX6000 launch on 8th Jan.

Ax3 bottom is warmer because air gap is too small. Raising it few mm up will significantly help to cool it. I did, it is no more than normal warm. Warmest at locations of processors are about 42C with better air gap (room temp 26C). Ax3 is a good router at its prices.

AX3600 have 4x4 antenna vs 2x2 for AX3 pro, it is normal that he goes faster, but it is bigger and more expensive.
I think you have been mistaken. Xiaomi AX3600 is WiFi6 certified. You can check the certificate here: certifications.prod.wi-fi.org/pdf/certificate/public/download?cid=WFA96567. Yes, the comparison was not fair due to the difference in specs and price, but currently I have only those two 160MHz routers for comparison. It was just for reference. the Huawei AX3 Pro has WiFi 6 Plus. It works only with Huawei devices. That's a HUGE PLUS if you read the benefits of the PLUS.

Hi. After watching your video I've bought AX3600. When I connect it with Xiaomi AX5 as a wireless mesh do the LAN ports give me also network connection or they are only for the LAN backhaul?
I have a garage where I need to connect with the switch but I do not have any Ethernet cable there. I don't need a great speed but just the few Mb, like 10-15Mb/s, for IoT devices and video intercom.
The WAN port is used for the LAN backhaul in the secondary router. And you can use the remaining 3 ports for connection to the network. You can connect your devices to the lan ports. Thanks.

Sir what's the coverage of AX3600? What is the farthest from AX3600 that you can connect to it and have a decent connection?
If there are walls in between, its is not very far. As shown in my video, 2 walls seems OK, but it cannot reach the next floor after passing the two walls in 5GHz. 2.4GHz will cover more distance. Thanks.

My ISP speed is 1Gbps. You cannot have increase in internet speed over your ISP speed even if you use Wifi 6 router. However your local network Bandwidth May be increased. Thanks.

I think both AX6 and AX3 pro can with as a WiFi extender. But I haven't tested AX6 yet. I ordered it and it's still on the way. AX3 Pro does quite well in the mesh with Honor Router 3 that I tested. I'm guessing repeater mode still be there same. And AX6 has 6 antennas, like AX3600, so it should also be good. The Chinese versions will work but can't change the language right now. Thanks.

When you are connecting two AX3 Pro or Honor routers, then it will be in a Mesh networking as shown here: ua-cam.com/video/W9BbOay1A2U/v-deo.html. In that case you cannot change the SSID. Mesh protocol will select the best router for your device. But if you have different brand routers, it will be just an extender. I haven't checked a standard Wi-Fi extender mode with other routers. I'll check if we can change the SSID and let you know. Thanks.

That you have to decide based on your house size and your future plans. AX3600 has more range than AX3 Pro but it's not better than 2 routers in mesh. if you want to setup more routers in the future, you have to buy either Xiaomi or Huawei, coz they arent compatible with each other in a mesh. It really depends on the space for have, like it has how many walls etc. It covers my 530sqft area well with many walls. But hard to reach next floor. From inside the rooms. If the router is placed in the balcony/corridor, then it can reach next floor. Thanks.
