Thanks For the instructional video on how to set up this mi wifi. I bought 2 of the ax3600 last year: can you make a video on how to make a limited guess wifi access for the ax3600.
Hey man, I am replacing the disaster of mesh systems in my house with 3 - 4 of the AX6000. I have an Orbi RBR50 running as a router, with 3 RBS50 satellites (2 hardwired to the router and 1 over wifi mesh). When even that wasn't enough because of the infrastructure in my house, I added an Amplifi HD mesh system with an extra Amplifi HD router, and set it up as AP from the Orbi (I know, it's confusing as hell, and a complete disaster, but at least now I have wifi in the whole house). Now, I'm thinking that, because of the transmit power in the AX6000, I can finally have just 1 mesh system and standardize my network. The reason I couldn't stick to Orbi is that ithe system only allows 1 router and 3 satellites. Now, if you could answer these questions for me (while I wait for my AX6000s to arrive), I would really appreciate it: 1.- What is the max amount of address reservations allowed by the AX6000? Orbi has a cap of 35, which is not optimal for me (120+ devices between wired and wireless). 2.- Is there a way to make the Xiaomi IOT band be used as the backhaul for the mesh instead? (unlikely, but doesn't hurt asking) 3.- What is your opinion on the wall penetration of the 5Ghz signal through brick and mortar? (There is no sheetrock in my house, every single wall is bricks) Is it better than most AC routers? 4.- How can I have you add my experience with a large mesh system made out of AX6000s to your channel? (I am not a youtuber, nor do I want to be, but I would like to pass on my experience to you for YOUR channel). 5.- Is there a forum or something in which you participate regularly so that we can talk about the possibilities of these routers, as well as others, for different scenarios? Sorry if it's too much man. I'm an old guy with the curiosity levels of a 6 years old. Looking forward to your responses. Thank you,
@@lapelusa3320 Thank you for your support. I appreciate your comments on the other video as well. Here are some of my response to your questions: 1. I'm not exactly sure of the limit, I cannot find any documentation. But I tried randomly adding device address reservations and I think I was able to go over 100. So I think it is definitely better than 35. It should work for your requirement. 2. I think the IOT module is not strong enough and its 2.4GHz. So even if we could I don't think we should use it. Currently there is no way to use it for backhaul. 3. Brick wall penetration is not bad. The performance is similar to AX3600 but better than others like AX6 or Huawei AX3 Pro etc. The same floor performance is quite good. 4. We can discuss of a collaboration after you get your AX6000s and set it up. You can share your experience through my channel if you like to. 5. I usually go to hardwarezone or 4pda forums for help. However those are not global forums. We can communicate at openwrt forums. I'm really sorry for no uploads and no comment replies for the last 2 months. I was having some health issues. However, I'm getting the new Mi AX9000 tomorrow and I'll try to review it as soon as possible. I'm excited to restart my uploads. Hope I can keep up with your expectations. Thank you.

I was looking at the AX9000, but it came out the day after I had already ordered the first 2 AX6000, so, I guess i'm stuck with those for at least 1 or 2 years (otherwise my wife would murder me). I'll look you up in the OpenWRT forums, for sure. What we can do is, I can make a silent video with my experience, pass it on to you, and you can be the off voice (again, I love technology, but have no interest whatsoever in being a youtuber), plus, you're much better suited than me to explain most stuff, hehe. It's going to be another month or so before my routers arrive, so we can get it on once they're here. Since my isp router is wifi 5, so from my isp router > to ax3600 (with full wifi 6 compatibilty > to my devices in 2nd floor (some support wifi 5 only and wifi 6). Have you tried it? If yes, then gimme the link, I will watch it before add it to the cart.

Great video, too bad you can't test the 160mhz band. it would be great to see such a test in the future, I think the easiest way would be with Intel ax200 / 210 adapter for PC / laptop

So that could you be so kind to provide the tutorial in slides of powerpoint for example so that I can read the tutorial slowly step by step. It would be helpful for an IT dummy guy like me. Thanks a lot in advanced.
TBH, there are 2 inaccuracies in your review here. (1) The range of the AX6000 is actually more in terms of its penetrative strength through walls by two standard dry-walls vs 1 standard dry-wall. (NB. a "dry-wall", i.e. made of fibre-board, not concrete-aggregate wall.) So, your range test did not pick that up because if you were not testing two rooms away from the router, but in the same room as the router, you wouldn't detect the difference. (2) The speed of the AX6000 reaches the specification for "Wi-Fi 6E" if you downloaded the latest version of firmware (unfortunately still in chinese language at this time). I suspect you were using the global version of the 6000's firmware.

is this suitable for UK use, will i need to get a modem to use it VDSL connection. now subscribed, great video
Yep, it works fine in the UK. I have one and have been using it for just over a week now :)
@@thomasanderson7450 thanks for info. I have just ordered one. Hoping I can set it up, I have old VDSL router I have just put in to bridge mode so i am hoping to plug straight in and set up.
Hi bro, I have a problem with mesh my ax3600. I have 2 ax3600 but cannot mesh new node and its said "For technical reasons, Mesh networking is not supported at this time." Although I already upgraded my firmware to 3.0.22 and its a global version. Is it because of my region? I use Indonesia as my region as well. I hope you can help me with my problem dude. Thankyou before.
Can we do mesh wirely,? Weak signal of triple wall barrier
Yes it is possible. Bypass the wall using an Ethernet backhaul. Thanks.
Wow What a cool radio. Thank you bro.. May be next you review for streaming in hundreds radio clients, The official web says 240 client simultaneously...
Can we run open-wrt?
Hello, Thank you for the video. Do you know which extenders/routers are compatible with AX6000 router to build a mesh network? I have the AX6000 but I need to add a node on the mesh network, did not find information on what is compatible as a node.
I have Xiaomi AX6000 I am facing channel issue can you please guid and advise to add more channels and also required upgraded firmware please
Hi I wanna buy this. But what's the weight of the box?
Does this also have no vlan tagging?
No native vlan tagging support I think. Thanks.
@@DSmartLife hmm with no WiFi 6E I might reconsider getting this. If it had 6E I will be future proofed and can get a workaround for the vlan tagging. However since it doesn't have 6e maybe I'll look to another device.
@@DSmartLife AX3600 International firmware 3.0.22 has native vlan tagging, but you have to set it up during initial setup of the router via web, later on it is not possible unfortunately. Please refer to this forum, scroll down and see screenshot from user "amirsubhi" on Dec 31 2020 - forum.lowyat.net/topic/5071359 . Also for me it is working in this way. Can you please make video about this? It would help a lot of people worldwide. :-)
@@romanholar8414 I will check it out, thanks for the info. I do not need the VLAN function, so may be I cant verify, but I will check the functions. Thanks.
Is the AX6000 available in global version?
Have QOS?
hello sir .. can you please help me downloading and installing an english firmware for the mi AX6000 ?
I do not understand. I read everywhere that with an OTA AX3600 can use 160 Mhz too ? It is written in the firwware (160/80/40/20Mhz dynamic mode). Can you confirm ?
Thanks For the instructional video on how to set up this mi wifi.
I bought 2 of the ax3600 last year: can you make a video on how to make a limited guess wifi access for the ax3600.
좋은 정보 감사합니다.
Can you test if using guest wifi, it is only available on master node not on the child node?
Now, if you could answer these questions for me (while I wait for my AX6000s to arrive), I would really appreciate it:
1.- What is the max amount of address reservations allowed by the AX6000? Orbi has a cap of 35, which is not optimal for me (120+ devices between wired and wireless).
2.- Is there a way to make the Xiaomi IOT band be used as the backhaul for the mesh instead? (unlikely, but doesn't hurt asking)
3.- What is your opinion on the wall penetration of the 5Ghz signal through brick and mortar?
Thank you,
Oh, and yeah, I just subscribed too, hehe!
@@lapelusa3320 Thank you for your support. I appreciate your comments on the other video as well.
Here are some of my response to your questions:
Thank you.
@@DSmartLife Dude, health first, fanboying later. It's that simple. Thank you so much for your reply.
Thanks for the info on the IP address reservation, that's a huge step up from Orbi (and don't even get me started on their crappy app and web based firmware, they SUCK!).
Again, thanks a lot buddy, and I hope you're much healthier now.
@@DSmartLife Oh, and about my comments on the other video, no need to thank me. That guy is a prick, and he needed to be called out as such. You're doing this where a lot of people are benefiting from, and he has to come up with those comments?
You're good man, I actually enjoyed calling him out, haha.
@@lapelusa3320 Yes we could do like that, I can do the voiceovers. Please note that the AX6000 doesn't have an English Web Interface. The firmware is still Chinese. However the App is English. Thank you for your concern of my health. I am better now.
Good morning! Can I use this router ax6000 as wifi signal repeater ? Because I use the internet of a neighbor and he has a Huawei router
Using two ax 3600s as wifi APs. Wont upgrade until they come with wifi 6e version with more 2.5 or 5gb ports.
How is the handoff between the two when roaming?
@@andrewgarlock4728 I use pfsense as my dhcp. Have both running in bridge/ap mode with the exact same settings, no mesh, etc. So far, no issues. One on the top floor and one on the main floor.
dear sir, is this AQX3600 5G because we are going buy 5G phone soon? thanks
Boa noite ! Esse AX6000 tem recurso de wi-fi para visitante ?
Great video brother very informative i would like to get this router as it is way cheaper then others but sadly xiaomi hasnt launched it here in my country india and other routers in same price bracket are not even close to what the mi ax6000 is offering in terms of everything i hope xiaomi launches it soon here under 100$ i know for a fact it will dominate the competition here
Also does it have bandwidth control for devices
The current firmware has bandwidth control for the whole network, but not for individual devices. However, individual devices' internet connectivity can be disabled independently from the router interface. Thanks for your kind comments.
Hi, will you review the Redmi AX5400?
Hello, how many ports can forward for this router?
Hi, thanks for the video. I bought and am using this router because of this review. No complaints, the performance is amazing :)
I could not find any options to set up a guest wifi network though, is it missing right now and will come with a later firmware? or am I not looking in the right places?
Edit*** Now found a solution. Have to use the MiWifi app but not the one from the play store. I had to use a modified one to set up the guest network. Can't change the guest SSID but it'll do for now :)

I'm not able to access the or ping the devices connected on the LAN port of the router from the device connected to the wifi. Is there any settings i need to change here . Could you help
Thanks for your video. I have successfully configured mesh network using exactly these two models. AX6000 web interface is still Chinese though. Is there a way to change it? Furthermore, Mi Wifi app does not support AX6000
@dsmartlife did xiaomi ever upgrade AX3600 to make it compatible to mesh with AX6000?
Hi. I bought the Xiaomi AX6000, but I can't find the WPS button or the WPS settings on the router web interface. Can you help me?
I had ax3600, I will buy 2 ax6000 to make a mesh to cover home 3 floors. I need to know I can make a wired mesh connection between the host ax6000 to the 2nd ax6000 then a wireless connection to ax3600? If yes you can tell me how. Thanks at advance
Hi i just bought the router. But i’ve been experiencing some problems, the 5ghz won’t show up on my devices. Do you have any solution to that problem?
how will you know the difference if you don't have an ax device to benchmark with ?
There wont be much difference if you don't have a WiFi6 capable device. In the video I have tested with a WiFi 6 device but the performance is similar with single device. Recently, I performed multiple device comparison and with the 2.5Gbps port, AX6000 performed better. I will upload the new comparison video soon. Thanks.
So if it has no VPN server function why is it in there? Is there another router they make that supports vpn?
Not every one need mesh or pure router, like me. In my case, I am satisfied enough with my isp router.
However I need more signal for 2nd floor, so I need a repeater.
Does ax3600 support repeater mode? If yes, then will wifi 6 feature disable?
Since my isp router is wifi 5, so from my isp router > to ax3600 (with full wifi 6 compatibilty > to my devices in 2nd floor (some support wifi 5 only and wifi 6).
Have you tried it? If yes, then gimme the link, I will watch it before add it to the cart.
Ax6000 doesn't have a guest network right?
Is there an English firmware for the ax6000?
Not yet. Xiaomi is yet to announce it globally. Thanks.
Thank you for your video. I got the xiaomi ax6000 to replace the Asus RT-AC87U. With Xiaomi, now I find that a bedroom wifi connection is very slow when previously the Asus was very good. Is there something I missed out? Thanks
I watched another video where it was recommended that the 2.4 and 5 gzh should not be merged in the wifi configuration as I had done. After splitting the merged channels, the range and speed of the improved tremendously.
Its possible im creat a network mesh with 3 routers ( 2 ax3600 + 1 ax6000) all connect in cable (not using wi-fi)?? Tks
Yes it is possible.
I was going to place an order for this one but then I realised it has no usb ports. Why would they not put at least one port when it has a gigantic case?
Great video, too bad you can't test the 160mhz band. it would be great to see such a test in the future, I think the easiest way would be with Intel ax200 / 210 adapter for PC / laptop
Hi. I've just purchased the ax6000 from local on-line market place. But the unit isn't received yet. I've also watched your video. But unfortunately that I'm not so knowledgeable in IT things so that it's still difficult for me to fully understand your description in video. So that could you be so kind to provide the tutorial in slides of powerpoint for example so that I can read the tutorial slowly step by step. It would be helpful for an IT dummy guy like me. Thanks a lot in advanced.
Hi, please make video how to port forwarding these router.. Mine seems not working.. Thank you
TBH, there are 2 inaccuracies in your review here.
Does AX6000 have normal repeater mode?
Yes it has.
Can someone but in prospective the wifi range on this device.
Can you change a Global firmware to a chinese firmware for a AX3600?
Yes you can. The CN firmware link is given in the video description. The installation steps are the same. Thanks.
Hello bro i need help. I have ax1800 and planning to buy ax6000. I will be using ax6000 as main router for mesh and ax1800 as child router. Will it run as ax6000 as a whole? Like broadcast the ax6000 capabilities? Or it will degrade since ax1800 is not good as ax6000?
Have you bought a AX6000 to mesh with AX1800?
I would like to know as well.😃
Just bought a xiaomi ax6000 from Taobao. It is the Chinese version which only support PPOE but my ISP only support Dynamic IP. What can I do to make it support dynamic ip? Is there anywhere to download and international version firmware for ax6000?
