I use a Steiner P4Xi. From the research I had done to that point, I felt this was the best duty-grade LPV scope for the money and the 5.56 AR platform.

I have a 5x prism with an offset red dot but recently I’ve really been considering the Burris RT6 after my friend got one. For the price it is a damn good optic and my friend isn’t exactly “nice” to his rifles so I’m not really worried about durability on it.

Aimpoint PRO. First optic and love it endlessly. Amazing quality and can easily hit targets to 500 meters (haven’t gone further because that’s all my range had). I zeroed it for 50/ and confirmed to 200.

Cancel out most juices and soft drinks and just drink water. A pint or 2 in the mourning is what I start with, make it habitual 🤟
Favorite rifle optic I have used so far is still a Trijicon Acog 4x power. Started with the standard USMC reticle, but now in the civilian world I am looking forward to trying other reticles like the ACSS.

Favorite optic of all time: Eotech HHS-1, I just ordered a Razor HD gen II-E, I wanted the Leupold Mark 6 or 8 and a Nightforce Atacr, but decided for me and my use that it wasn't worth the extra cash.

I'm used to shooting with old fudd rifle scopes(1980's RedFields), and it astonishes me that there is even a type of scope that uses "second focal plane" reticles. "First focal plane" reticles have been around for a long time, and I would have thought that this would be the standard setup for all scopes these days.

I really noticed the loss of illumination at 6X when you aren't perfectly lined up. It is very unforgiving in that case. It's not a deal breaker though.
JC! I singed my eyebrows off just watching the intro! The Leupold MK-6 1-6x CMR , Kahles K6xi, Minox ZP-8 1-8x and both my Primary Arms 1-8x ACSS scopes, the platinum FFP and the standard SFP are my all time favorite LPVOs. I love both my PA ACSS scopes but id be willing to park them in favor of one of these. The new NightForce ATAC-R and NX-8 1-8x scopes are very, VERY good as well but although i prefer SFP for LPVOs the NX-8s reticle cant hold a candle to the ACSS and the big ATAC-R also loses points compared to the ACSS but its reticle is quite capable. Overall id say the Kahles, Leupold and PA scopes are my favorites with the Minox being perhaps my holy grail. Its got side focus/parallax for Christs sake! It also has superb glass and a pricetag to match. For now im perfectly content with my PA 1-8x ACSS scopes. Ive got less than $1300 for the two of them and challenge any and all with either one.
Losing the illumination is a positive. It lets you know you’re going to miss what you think you’re aiming at, and to fix your head. POSP 4x24, 1000m Rangefinder. Once US optics releases the SR-8S with a Plumb reticle, that might change.

Favorite optic ever for me is a toss up right now. I miss my TA31 but I am falling in love with my Razor 1-10. The glass on the TA is as good as it gets for my eyes. And I don’t mind the short eye relief at all. I just wish it had an extra 2x

@@mcbeet1 yeah. I don't use it on anything bigger than a .22 honestly but for what it is, it's got decent glass and is very well made. I dont know that I'd toss it on a .223 but it works very well and has damn good battery life
I do think price should be mentioned more. For example, the modern MK6 is the Patrol 6HD which is $1200 less than a NF ATACR and for the average user, they won't know a difference.
Favorite optic was our issued ACOG 4×32 era 1997-ish. First time I found use for an optic on the M16A2/M4. Worst optic was an AN-PVS4 on my M60 in 1995. Gar-bage.

My Mark 6 just arrived yesterday! Awesome optic! Edit: I was playing with the illumination turret and the whole assembly came off some how. I could get it back on but it wouldn’t work properly. It’s on its way back to Leupold now!
The only rifle optic that I've ever used is the ACOG TA32-D. The chevron isn't the best reticle, but it's what I trained with and I know how to use it. As long as I can get a solid 300yd BZO on it, the TA32 will do what I need it to do. Given that it's the only optic that I'm familiar with, it's obviously my favorite. However, I have to say that learning how to use the stock M16/M4 rear sight aperture is a bit of an art form. With the ACOG, the Corps just taught us to do hold overs for wind calls. With irons, we were taught how to adjust the rear sight for wind and elevation so that the tip of the front sight post was point of aim, point of impact every time. Irons are severely underated.
If i didnt have to worry about other responsibilities id order a Nightforce ATACR 5-25 56 to use on a lr308 precision build, a atacr 1-8 24 for a 308 pattern DMR and id order a NX8 1-8 24 for a Marlin build. Ill be spacing out these purchasses lol Thanks for a great video man, we all appreciate you hard work.
I totally agree. I have the civilian version L-VX-6 multi-gun scope and seems the only difference is the mildot reticle and red dot brightness adjustment. This is a very clear glass and on 1x it is just about as fast as my EOTECH. When you have the gun up in your usual training position, your head will fall in line to the eye relief needed... that is what training is for... you don't think, it falls into muscle memory.... ONE FAST SCOPE !! I can hit ALL neck shots at 25 yds no stringers with a Giselle trigger like a tap dancer falling down the stairs..... lol
Actual Serious comment: seeing as you're able to run such tremendous round counts, I think many people would be interested in your cleaning/maintenance procedures for carbine/pistols and what are the products you find perform best. Plenty of opportunity for innuendos too.

as an average m4 user, i like to spend 1000s of dollars on an unpractical sight which only works for a couple minutes until it dies

4 power is all you need in CQB. 300 to 400 yards I was hitting a russisn helmet . 500 yards or more the 6 X .

Trijicon Accupoint 1-8 is my favorite, great glass and durability for the price. I only wish they would put the ACSS reticule on it like the ACOG.

Favorite optic ever for me is a toss up right now. I miss my TA31 but I am falling in love with my Razor 1-10. The glass on the TA is as good as it gets for my eyes. And I don’t mind the short eye relief at all. I just wish it had an extra 2x

@@mcbeet1 yeah. I don't use it on anything bigger than a .22 honestly but for what it is, it's got decent glass and is very well made. I dont know that I'd toss it on a .223 but it works very well and has damn good battery life

I do think price should be mentioned more. For example, the modern MK6 is the Patrol 6HD which is $1200 less than a NF ATACR and for the average user, they won't know a difference.
Favorite optic was our issued ACOG 4×32 era 1997-ish. First time I found use for an optic on the M16A2/M4.
Worst optic was an AN-PVS4 on my M60 in 1995. Gar-bage.

My Fav optic ever is a Exps 3-O Eotech with a 3x magnifier. I just think it looks sexy as hell especially on a 11.5 sbr/pistol (thanks ATF)
I say you should take the price gap on this kind of optics a step further and see if you can get your hands on a Schimdt and Bender 1-8
My Mark 6 just arrived yesterday! Awesome optic! Edit: I was playing with the illumination turret and the whole assembly came off some how. I could get it back on but it wouldn’t work properly. It’s on its way back to Leupold now!

I have loved my Luepold 1-4 on my Browning B-80 for slug hunting deer.
What 1x4x24 model.
The only rifle optic that I've ever used is the ACOG TA32-D. The chevron isn't the best reticle, but it's what I trained with and I know how to use it. As long as I can get a solid 300yd BZO on it, the TA32 will do what I need it to do. Given that it's the only optic that I'm familiar with, it's obviously my favorite. However, I have to say that learning how to use the stock M16/M4 rear sight aperture is a bit of an art form. With the ACOG, the Corps just taught us to do hold overs for wind calls. With irons, we were taught how to adjust the rear sight for wind and elevation so that the tip of the front sight post was point of aim, point of impact every time. Irons are severely underated.

If i didnt have to worry about other responsibilities id order a Nightforce ATACR 5-25 56 to use on a lr308 precision build, a atacr 1-8 24 for a 308 pattern DMR and id order a NX8 1-8 24 for a Marlin build. I totally agree. I have the civilian version L-VX-6 multi-gun scope and seems the only difference is the mildot reticle and red dot brightness adjustment. This is a very clear glass and on 1x it is just about as fast as my EOTECH. When you have the gun up in your usual training position, your head will fall in line to the eye relief needed... that is what training is for... you don't think, it falls into muscle memory.... ONE FAST SCOPE !! I can hit ALL neck shots at 25 yds no stringers with a Giselle trigger like a tap dancer falling down the stairs..... lol
Something about the 12.5 inch barrel with the BCM comp just sounds mean. I love it.
Favorite rifle optic is the Burris AR-536 becuase it's fixed x5 zoom, affordable ($400 on most retailers) and is pretty good for what you pay for.
My favorite optic is a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x 40mm. It's the only optic I've got! And it's on my Browning. I have only iron sights for my AR.

Actual Serious comment: seeing as you're able to run such tremendous round counts, I think many people would be interested in your cleaning/maintenance procedures for carbine/pistols and what are the products you find perform best. Plenty of opportunity for innuendos too.
