Bloc loc rulers are very expensive. Just a hint if it’s not in your budget these days. Take 3-4 layers of painters tape, precisely lay it right next to the 45 degree line on your 6” square ruler….WALA you have a bloc loc ruler. I use this all of the time when squaring my HST’S. I this hope this hack helps someone. Happy quilting everyone❣️. Thanks for the Video!
Someone else suggested this too and I wish I had known it before I ordered one. Next time I ask about something, I need to wait for the responses before I act! Thanks.
You can also use one layer of medical tape and it's see through. I learned that tip from Bonnie Hunter. I have a little 4 1/2" square ruler I've done this too and it's held up for years and works great.
Aunt Debbie please do not apologize for being tired or making mistakes. We all make mistakes! Lord only knows I make way more than my share 😊. Your quilt is amazing and so beautiful. Be proud of your work, it’s lovely. ❤❤
After all that you went through lately, I'm thinking that you're doing very well. All of those unexpected things that happened can easily mess with our thinking processes. Take care of yourself and relax as much as possible.
So, so lovely. Your sewing is beautiful and the varieties of blue sparkle. I spotted the flipped units and have so much empathy for your tired sewing issues.
This is my first time watching your video. I love that you didn’t delete your mistakes, we have all been there. Jacob’s Ladder has been on my quilt list for a few years. I have all the fat quarters in orangy/yellows, dark browns and blacks. God bless you.
I didn’t realize how many mistakes I make until I started recording. I’m so used to fixing them & moving on that they don’t count in my head. But when the whole world is watching, it feels like they are monumental!
I really enjoyed watching. I have never wanted to make this pattern but you have changed my mind. I also loved your very last comment, all glory to the Lord.
Please don’t apologise, we ALL have days when nothing seems to go right! At least you persevered, I would have crawled into bed and pulled the covers over my head!
I love your videos. You take time to give full explanations and leave the examples on the screen long enough for me to study them. I love that you include your mistakes in the videos showing us what not to do.
LOVE the first and third layout, the colours you have chosen are perfect - so crisp and clean 🤗 When I make mine, if I am not able to decide in the final layout then I will make the pattern twice! BTW, your nails are gorgeous😍
Your mistakes make you human! It’s so much more relatable, when you realize you’re not the only one that has to go back and fix a block after it’s all together…😂😂😂 I love the chandelier quilt pattern.
I’d be shocked if I never made a mistake when sewing!!! I,appreciate yiu showing us what happened and how to fix it. I love thst blue fabric - I’m still working on collecting whites with different designs.
Well I promise to continue to be human and relatable! It won’t take any effort. Lol! The chandelier quilt will be my next one as I’ve already started cutting it out.
@@auntdebbiesboutique1223 I look forward to seeing it! It’s definitely one of those quilts I want to make, but haven’t gotten around to, yet! Maybe I’ll make one soon. I was just gifted a beautiful fat quarter bundle. That might be something I can use it for.
Yes, it takes 7 fat quarters and you only use about 2/3 of each. (But each fat quarter makes 6 blocks so you could use more if you had that many. )I’m wondering if I can use the leftovers for a border and will graph it out to see. It also takes 3 yds of background fabric. I will post all the details when I post the video.
I just love your way of helping me understand quilting!! You’re the second person that I’ve watched that is genuine and real, if you know what I mean. The other person is a quilting giant, her name is Eleanor Burns of “quilt in a day”. Your style is very caring and willing to share your knowledge, you’re an amazing woman! Keep it up!
I just watched you Jacob’s ladder video. I’m sorry you were tired while making the video. But it showed me, I shouldn’t give up when things don’t go our way. Thank you for persevering thru your fatigue. BTW, I think the quilt is beautiful!
Take that extra block and make a pillow with it. This is the first of your videos that I have seen , and I am looking forward 😀 to watching more. I like option three.😊❤
That would be gorgeous ! It would also look good kind of scrappy with various Christmas prints. I might have to try a Christmas quilt if I can find the time!
This is a beautiful quilt! I love the third choice that you picked out. Thanks for the cutting instructions for the fat quarters too! 🪡 I was also impressed with how fast you threaded your needle with such long nails! 💅😄
So sorry for your troubles lately. I understand! Truth, never sew when you are tired. Give yourself a break. I appreciate you showed the boo boo. Ypu sure make me feel better, as I have the same oopsies. Rest up, and see you next time!

@auntdebbiesboutique1223 I've got both of the small square sets, and one of the half-rectangle ones as well. They are so easy to use, at least for how my brain works, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts!!
I like all the options, but I agree with your choice! It is very beautiful! Get some rest! It sounds like you did enough in two weeks that many of us do in two months! I will be looking forward to your next tutorial!
I think option 3 is the traditional design of the Jacobs ladder, which is my favorite layout. I love the all blue and white. I did an Ohio Star in blues and whites a few years back. We all make mistakes, especially when we're tired. Try and take care of yourself. I enjoyed your video.
Your quilt came out pretty in that classic blue and white color palette. Just a tip about Mary Ellen's Best Press. Dont let it drip on your furniture. It can remove the finish. Ask me how i know! I had a leaky bottle that left a ring on top of my red cabinet. After that i always kept a small dish under it.
I love pattern # 2, but I will keep the darker in the middle square around & the lighter for the next outer square, then back to the darker on the outside square. ❤ Can't wait to start ... TY

Be kind to yourself, none of us are immune to feeling tired or overwhelmed by a stressful week. Loving watching what you’re doing ❤️
Thank you. I’ve bounced back and in much better shape!

I love #3 also!!
Beautiful quilt. Thank you. Option 3 is my favorite. 💙
Option 3 looks awesome. Good choice! Aunt Debbie, do not apologize, this was so much work already. So thankful for the tutorial!
Thank you for your encouragement!
Your errors were what puts us at ease! We're all human. I like option 3 as well. Thanks so much!
Well I seem to become extra human when the camera turns on. Thanks for your encouragement!

If I deleted my mistakes, there wouldn’t be much left. I bet your quilt will be beautiful!
That’s a beautiful quilt. I appreciate that you shared with us the mistake in piecing a couple of blocks as It makes the process more real.

Thanks for your video! I liked option 3 also. I really like blue and white. The fabric you did the demo on was my favorite.
Mine too! That’s why I saved it for demo. I find myself picking out blue fabric all the time and have to make myself use a variety.
Please don’t apologise, we ALL have days when nothing seems to go right! At least you persevered, I would have crawled into bed and pulled the covers over my head!
Nothing like having bad hair days in front of a large audience. Seems like when I turn the camera on, it all goes downhill fast! But thanks!
My favorite is #3 also. Thank you for showing us how to make this beautiful block.
You are so welcome! No 3 has been unanimous so far.
I love your videos. You take time to give full explanations and leave the examples on the screen long enough for me to study them. I love that you include your mistakes in the videos showing us what not to do.
The mistakes come naturally!! Thank you for your encouragement! I love to teach.
LOVE the first and third layout, the colours you have chosen are perfect - so crisp and clean 🤗 When I make mine, if I am not able to decide in the final layout then I will make the pattern twice! BTW, your nails are gorgeous😍
Now that’s a plan! Two totally different quilts with one easy block. And thanks for the nail comment. I was blessed with thick tough ones!
Beautiful! You made a lovely quilt. Thank you for showing us ❤️
You are so welcome! Thank you for your comments!
Lovely tutorial. We all learn from mistakes so thanks for keeping those in for us. I appreciated the views of alternative layouts.
You are so welcome!
I love the colors and layout you used. Very pretty!
Thank you so much!

Thank you for sharing. Blue is my favorite color. I certainly am going to make this one in option three.❤❤❤
You’re welcome 😊 I gravitate to blues all the time and have to make myself use other colors.
I love your videos. You have lovely hands. Thanks for including Scripture on your site. Love the Jacob’s ladder.
Thank you so much! You are very sweet!

Beautiful work. Option 3 is my favorite. I just found your channel and subscribed.
Thank you! Welcome. Option 3 seems to be everyone’s favorite so far.
I really like that pattern and downloaded your instructions so thank you. I've never made a quilt without some mistakes. God Bless
God bless you too.
Beautiful quilt, mistakes happen. I have had my fair share of mistakes. Looking forward to seeing your next quilt. I just subscribed to your channel.
Thank you so much! Welcome!
just signed up for your show, I enjoyed it. It is real. And . Sweet fur baby.
Thank you. Love my fur babies and welcome!
I am glad you are back! I'm sorry you had to endure the flooding from the water heater, and being sick!
Thank you. It’s all behind me now.
I make all the same mistakes. Glad to see the beautiful quilts you make. It gives me hope.
I guess we all have our good days and our bad ones!
Take that extra block and make a pillow with it. This is the first of your videos that I have seen , and I am looking forward 😀 to watching more. I like option three.😊❤
Thank you!
I liked them all, but I LOVED option 3! Beautiful!
Yay! Thank you!
3 was my favorite. This is going to be my new Christmas quilt. Of course it will be red and white!
Lol! I’ve had lots of experience threading needles! Thank you for your kind comments!
Such a Beautiful Quilt! Thank you for doing this tutorial. My husband loves it too.
You get extra dinky points for showing it to your husband! So glad you both liked it!

Poor thing. We all have days like that!! Sounds like you have had a time the past 2 weeks. Hopefully you are resting and not stressed.

The fact you make mistakes makes us all human! Thank you for such a nice video
So nice of you to say that. You’re welcome!
I love my Bloc Loc rulers!! They were a game changer for me.
I have one on the way. Can’t wait to try it!

Glad you like it! Thanks.
They aren't mistakes! They are personal design enhancements. 👏
Thank you. I like that!
All gorgeous blocks, I love the orientation you chose 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Beautiful love two colour quilts
Me too! Thank you!
Just found your channel. Love your accent. South Georgia myself. Beautiful quilt.
Us southern girls have a hard time hiding where we’re from!! Welcome & thanks!

Great! We’re in the majority!

So glad you found an option you want to make. There is no bad choice!
Bless you ❤ your hands are lovely.
😊 thank you
This is BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you so much
Those. Lock lock rulers are great. Get ya one.
I will!
Definitely option 3! Gorgeous 😍
Great minds think alike!
I liked Option 3 best too! Great minds think alike. 😊
Yes they do!! Thanks.

I haven’t had the chance to use mine yet but might with my next quilt. I’m excited to try it!
The BlocLoc for HST is fabulous - a bit on the pricey side but worth it! I have several along with many other rulers😲😲
Good to know! We can never have too many rulers!! Thanks.
# 3 is my favorite. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks for your vote!
Love seeing you working with a block being a little short. My tendency is to pull both edges together. I see you working with it ao I'll give a try without stretching the fabric so much. 😊
I always have some short blocks. If they are too short, I’ll double stitch them for extra hold.
Like option 3 the best, but also number 1, beautiful!!😊
Thanks for voting. Option 1 was my second choice too.
I liked option 2 & 3, but 3 was my favorite.
Good. Me too!
The BlocLock is great but you can DIY it: position a couple layers of masking tape diagonally across your ruler. Trim your HSTs before you iron them open; you’ll only need to trim two sides instead of all four.
What a great idea! Never thought of that but it’s obviously easy. Thanks!
I’m a fan of number three as well, but you could probably play around with this one for a little while. I love quilts that create a chain pattern. I think I’m going to make this one. I have some fabric that I’ve been trying to figure out what to make with it and I think this might be it.
Wonderful! I do like all the many options and I just showed a few of them.
Love all the different layouts
Thank you!
Thank you!
Timely ! Ijust found a circa 1920 top in my stash ! Its set like #1 I like #3 better ! Mine could be quilted as is with a binding, which is what they would've done. Now , since its mine , I may take it apart and re set it . 🤔🎉

Thank you. I was blessed with very thick and tough nails. They rarely break and never tear.
I bought the block-Loc set and love them all!!!
I just used mine for the first time & loved it.
A scant quarter inch seam- remember what you told us in the beginning😁❤
Yes. I never follow my own advice!
I liked pattern 3 best 😊
Good choice. Thanks for voting.
I know this video came out a little while ago but I'm loving your #3 option.
Great! That’s the majority opinion. Thanks for voting!
We are all human! You are running on fumes…. Rest and take care of yourself.❤
God bless you.
I like option 4 but they are all awesome❤
There is no bad choice. Thanks for voting!
I also would have chosen option 3. I was tickled to see your golden in the shadows of the table.
She is my shadow. Never far from sight. Also have a Yorkie that is equally underfoot. But love them dearly!
Option #1 , it’s how I picture a ladder.
I like that one too and you are right. It does remind me of a ladder! Thanks for your vote!
Beautiful!! I like the option 3.
Thank you! 😊
I like option 3 the best too, I have made a Jacob’s ladder it turned out pretty good , but you sure had to think what your doing or you mess it up , I did do some ripping lol
I know. I got confused often!
