I'm currently making my second version of the Jagged X pattern. The first was using some jelly rolls; this one I'm making with Christmas yardage. Both are beautiful. I find that I'm not accurate enough with my diagonals, though, and need to trim the finished squares before assembly.
My sister drove out to California from Washington to teach me to sew and QUILT. She gave me instructions and allo ed me to do the work, like a great teacher. This was the quilt I picked. It came out beautiful and I am now a true quilter. If I didn't have to work, I would be found in my new sewing/quilting room. ♥️
I cannot tell you how delighted I am to have found your channel. You are an excellent teacher and you make me want to take on new projects to practice skills that I am learning from you. I am excited to try doing a mitered border.

Just finished the quilt top today. I love it. I pieced it in similar colors but Christmas fabrics and added a bit of yardage from my stash. It ended up being 67"x67" and my mitred corners turned out perfectly. I am very pleased.

Have made this particular pattern at least 4 or 5 times now. I love it. I even lengthened the rectangles to twice their length and made it into a king size quilt as a wedding gift for my son and his wife. I am in the process of making a 6th one and using the left over mini-triangles to make a love notes throw size quilt.

I always enjoy your quilting videos. I am left handed and found making a four patch block out of the squares then squaring up the blocks a little easier to line things up. It was a long process but helped to pass the time. This was a fun quilt to make. Thanks so much!

Mitre corners were something I thought id never accomplish. The quilt is gorgeous and the tutorial is great...as usual. I have mastered the mitre but found a 20 yr old ufo that I had hand stitched the mitre to be sure I got it right. I had a happy laugh for knowing why and a reason the person who receives should treasure it more.

There are so many bad (and expensive) patterns out there that are so disappointing, I’m going to use your free and recommended patterns from now on. I started quilting about 1.5 years ago, and your easy to follow videos have been so helpful and wonderful! I don't understand the "thumbs down" from people. I love how you explain the "little reasons" you do something. I've ordered kits and material from you and everythng arrives promptly and great condition. Matt's precuts are wonderful for arthritic hands. I'd like to suggest showing more of your precut bundles on the web site. I'm in the Midwest, if I lived closer I'd be in your shop every week! Love it! British Columbia has been locked down for 2 weeks now and I have been quilting like a mad woman. Our curve is starting to flatten so everyone doing social distancing and staying home is working. I hope that the Jordan family and staff all stay safe. Great pattern. I used to make a high school 50th reunion quilt for a giveaway. School colors are green gold and white (not my favorite) but the pattern made even these colors shine.

Now I am 61.Kinda taught myself to make Quilts looking at one that my Grandma had made on a frame... basically one pattern. You have opened up a new world to me with all these patterns. I made this quilt using similar colours, Great quilt. Really fun to work on, It went together easily following the instructions, It went surprisingly quick. The Chains links is my most favorite so far! I love the colors and the simple design of it. Reminds me of a quilt my great grandmother had sewn many years ago. To me is says " Home is where my heart is". Soft and comfy. Such beautiful quilts you sew and design. Love watching your video's and being inspired. TY for all of them.

Quarantine chic! I love it. Mine just happen to match. I went by my manicurist and they were open shorter hours but open none the less. Not real comfortable going into those places cuz I'm not sure how they sterilized, if they do.

I love to sew another line 1/2 inch from the other sewn line and when I trim I have tiny 1/2 square triangles for a later project.. .Ready to be trimmed to size. (Im working on a 20,000+ piece postage stamp quilt that I will be using these triangles on for better definition. Absolutely zero waste. PS, I'm a huge fan and always look forward to your vids. :)

Hi there, I asked the same question but got no answer and found the fabric online. If you type in black, white & red hot by Henry Glass, you will have the opportunity to find this fabric. I could only find it in a 1/2 yard bundle for 125 dollars but it included 21 pieces of the different fabric. I ordered it through Rebsfabstash. I hope this helps. I will not need all of this fabric obviously for one quilt but it was worth the purchase for the men in my life who loves black, red, and gray fabric.

Donna, I just love your videos, we do things very similar, I too have an industrial Juki, which I LOVE, but what amazes me is you don't have any kind of guide, I have a magnet on mine so I can sew full blast with strips. But I love this pattern, and I like your way of doing mitered borders, I too even though I feel like I'm a very confident quilter, I should be I run a quilt shop as well, but always get anxious about doing mitered corners, but I like your way of doing the corners. I'm a big believer in easy to do, but with a big impact visually. Also I have been having many beginners coming in lately and I always recommend your videos. To me you move at just a right pace. Also because I do NOT do hand work including binding, my mother has always done that, however she is getting arthritis and have had to start finding a way to do binding your tutorial on machine binding is my favorite method, yes I still don't like the little lip on the back, BUT from the front it looks perfect stitching in the ditch. Even the way we iron is very similar, I might not "finger press" while at the machine, but I do use my fingers to lay the fabric over before ironing. And for all you ladies out there this comment is coming for the grumpy old man quilter in Weatherford :) Keep up the videos and I know one of these days I'm going to do one of your patterns. I really like the look of this one. And I too like you do longarm quilting, that is in fact almost a quarter of our business.

I started quilting about 1.5 years ago, and your easy to follow videos have been so helpful and wonderful! I don't understand the "thumbs down" from people. I love how you explain the "little reasons" you do something. I've ordered kits and material from you and everythng arrives promptly and great condition. Matt's precuts are wonderful for arthritic hands. I'd like to suggest showing more of your precut bundles on the web site. I'm in the Midwest, if I lived closer I'd be in your shop every week! I was at a quilt retreat last Fall and three people were using your various patterns! Thanks for helping us newer quilters! We do appreciate your extra effort!

Love it! British Columbia has been locked down for 2 weeks now and I have been quilting like a mad woman. Our curve is starting to flatten so everyone doing social distancing and staying home is working. I hope that the Jordan family and staff all stay safe. You guys are the best and we really appreciate your hard work.

Great pattern. I used to make a high school 50th reunion quilt for a giveaway. School colors are green gold and white (not my favorite) but the pattern made even these colors shine.

I started watching your videos a few days ago. And I am just glued to them. I have been sewing since I was 9... Now I am 61.Kinda taught myself to make Quilts looking at one that my Grandma had made on a frame... basically one pattern. You have opened up a new world to me with all these patterns. I made this quilt using similar colours, Great quilt. Really fun to work on, It went together easily following the instructions, It went surprisingly quick. Its a real show quilt always gets a comment from guests. I was very happy with the outcome. Thanks Donna and Matt. Keep up the inspirations. From an Australian Fan!!

The Chains links is my most favorite so far! I love the colors and the simple design of it. Reminds me of a quilt my great grandmother had sewn many years ago. To me is says " Home is where my heart is". Soft and comfy. Such beautiful quilts you sew and design. Love watching your video's and being inspired. TY for all of them.

Quarantine chic! I love it. Mine just happen to match. I went by my manicurist and they were open shorter hours but open none the less. Not real comfortable going into those places cuz I'm not sure how they sterilized, if they do.

I love to sew another line 1/2 inch from the other sewn line and when I trim I have tiny 1/2 square triangles for a later project.. .Ready to be trimmed to size. (Im working on a 20,000+ piece postage stamp quilt that I will be using these triangles on for better definition. Absolutely zero waste. PS, I'm a huge fan and always look forward to your vids. :)

I learned a long time ago to only miter corners IF they will SHOW as having been mitered!!
If I t going to be invisible(?), then it’s not necessary.
@@donnanorris2939 I agree with you Donna. Although I appreciate her tutorial on the technique, it's wasted on this busy border, hardly noticeable. Best to save mitred corners for a neat border print like a Jinny Beyer fabric. ~Diana K.

Hi there, I asked the same question but got no answer and found the fabric online. If you type in black, white & red hot by Henry Glass, you will have the opportunity to find this fabric. I could only find it in a 1/2 yard bundle for 125 dollars but it included 21 pieces of the different fabric. I ordered it through Rebsfabstash. I hope this helps. I will not need all of this fabric obviously for one quilt but it was worth the purchase for the men in my life who loves black, red, and gray fabric.

It says you are entered for a specific quilt, the one you are registering for. You will actually see the name of the quilt. I register for every one, every time.
I have the same thing happen when I try to register for the give away. Don't understand as I know on most of these I have not registered before.

Donna, I just love your videos, we do things very similar, I too have an industrial Juki, which I LOVE, but what amazes me is you don't have any kind of guide, I have a magnet on mine so I can sew full blast with strips. But I love this pattern, and I like your way of doing mitered borders, I too even though I feel like I'm a very confident quilter, I should be I run a quilt shop as well, but always get anxious about doing mitered corners, but I like your way of doing the corners. I'm a big believer in easy to do, but with a big impact visually. Also I have been having many beginners coming in lately and I always recommend your videos. To me you move at just a right pace. Also because I do NOT do hand work including binding, my mother has always done that, however she is getting arthritis and have had to start finding a way to do binding your tutorial on machine binding is my favorite method, yes I still don't like the little lip on the back, BUT from the front it looks perfect stitching in the ditch. Even the way we iron is very similar, I might not "finger press" while at the machine, but I do use my fingers to lay the fabric over before ironing. And for all you ladies out there this comment is coming for the grumpy old man quilter in Weatherford :) Keep up the videos and I know one of these days I'm going to do one of your patterns. I really like the look of this one. And I too like you do longarm quilting, that is in fact almost a quarter of our business.
