There are some very rare fish in the Torrens, one of only two places I know they exist, they are listed as ‘extinct’ species. Strange that they survive well in such polluted waters.
hi Alex, great vid! I have done a lot of fishing with my friend in the torrens in the holidays but we have not caught any fish. do you think that. maybe the torrens has been over fished and there arent much carp left?
@@stringbean1010 i tried around the convention centre and somewhere around 2k past bonython park. i did some research and found that the governent has done some electrofishing (elecrecuting fish) in the torrens lake (around the billabong to the torrens weir) and they have reduced the amount of fish to around 280 kg of carp per hectare (10000km swuared) and they hope that if they continue this they can reduce it to around. 80 kg per hectare in 2027. i think that. because of this there should be more carp past the weir in the section leading to henley. It wont be very convenient because me and my friends ride our bikes to the river and fish so we will have to ride quite far to catch carp now.
I would never eat the fish in the Torrens downstream of the gorge where the river enters the city suburbs, upstream from there should be no problem, the water is pretty clean.
Hello Mate , I am currently residing on Adelaide. I am interested at fishing. But, I have a lot to learn. You are really good at techniques and everything. Can you help me ? I caught 16 carps so far in clayton bay, a small sized salmon in west lakes here. I am really interested in Salmon Fishing can give me some tips, advise and stuff ? I use frozen pilchard as bait, what do you think about that ? Thanks
G'day mate. Awesome to hear that you have been catching fish! Some people struggle to even find fish. Salmon have been tough this year. But on a good year, you can get plenty down south on the surf beaches using pilchards on a paternoster rig. South port beach, christies beach, waitpinga beach and parsons beach. Hopefully next year is a better one! Good luck mate.
@@Alexsfishin And one thing, the salmon i caught was today. Many times I felt bite. And like 30-40 pilchard cubes were eaten by the salmons. They eat but they don't hook up. I used normal salmon rigs from tackle world adelaide, but what do you recommend ? Sorry for disturbing you mate ! Thanks Aryan
30-50 gram metal lures work well off the beach in heavy swell. Otherwise good lures off jetties and in estuaries are the Daiwa Double Clutch ans Zman Slim Swimz. The reason why you didn't hook any might be because of the hook size. Also make sure that the hook is exposed with the bait on it.
These things make excellent compost / fertilizer in the garden. Just dig holes, chop it up and bury it. Then leave it and watch things grow. You WILL be surprised. "Oh" and don't let the dog get it.
Just started fishing the Torrens, that river holds some big fish.
Got my PB last friday

Awesome video but why did u keep the carps?
They are a pest species and it's illegal to chuck them back
Wow bro well done

Nice vid mate.... Where exactly are you fishing? I thought I'll give it a shot
Lower Torrens River. Around underdale.
Hi mate, roughly what part of the river is this?
carps fun as to catch. best bait for me was worms but this was at a large river. breads definately the most basic bait to use
Your a good bloke alex
Great vid mate.
It's a shame they don't get that fat down Goolwa way. Might have to give the Torrens a crack one day.
That double header control is some high level stuff XD
Third arm always helps. 😂
nice video alex
Where abouts on the Torrens is this ???
That's a good Sewer Salmon! gj
Another great vid mate. Is that little stool from Kmart? I was gonna get one cause it would be so handy haha.
Cheers man. Anaconda 😀
GREAT VIDEO
Another good video your in my spot I go there to get shark bait .
Trying to pin point it exactly..just West of Underdale HS?
Yes that is the spot
Good video ok ❤
Crackin' Mud Marlin Alex !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ye ole" mud marlin! bloody good fun!
We're abouts is this in adelade mate?
Lower torrens river. Go have an explore along there west of South road.
Sick bro
Why did you kill them
Carp are not native fish, so have to be killed and not returned to the water.
You changed cameras again bro.... a bit grainy?!
What time were you fishing when you cought them?
About 1pm.
i fell in this river by accident with my friend fishing here lol
You realise carp take tiny poppers?
Ooh know' this is going to end badly. Lol.
Great video, but get yourself a landing net. Don't cuff the fish behind the gills when lifting it.
You go on google images search Torrens fishing this guys face pops up all over lol unless it's just the algorithm catering to me
Hahaaa
