  • One of Adelaide's most convenient river systems for wetting a line and getting the rod bent whist spending only a penny on petrol and bait. Quite a simple fish to catch and enjoy a bit of sunshine (not so much fresh air) with family/friends.

    Since this is an invasive species, is there a bag/size limit for these carps - are you allowed to release them back in the water?
    Keep up the good work - greetings from germany.

      @Alexsfishin  6 років тому +2

      Hi Sebastian, it's fantastic to have fishos all the way from Germany watching my videos! Thank you!
      I'm afraid they are an invasive species and are not to be returned back into the water alive. It's pretty much catch and kill as many as you can, here in Australia.

    • @Alexsfishin
      @Alexsfishin  6 років тому

      Thanks as always! Yes I have, but a lot of the trout spots here in SA are kept quiet as they can quite easily be fished out. Would love to tick that video off the list though :).

    Hi Alex. I was curious about what I could catch at Glenelg or West Lakes and what type of lure I should use.

    • @Alexsfishin
      @Alexsfishin  6 років тому +2

      Hey mate, there are lots of bream in the Patawalonga river at Glenelg and also in West Lakes. An easier fish to target however would be juvenile salmon. They will hit pretty much anything that can fit in their gob! But try to aim using lures that imitate a baitfish. The 60sp Daiwa Double clutches are a great lure to start with.

    • @Alexsfishin
      @Alexsfishin  6 років тому +1

      The onkaparinga, the patawalonga river and west lakes are all productive spots! Check out some of my other videos, I talk a lot of those tactics for you.

    • @Alexsfishin
      @Alexsfishin  6 років тому +1

      My pleasure mate. We binned them, they are considered a pest in our waterways. Unfortunately the water quality in the River Torrens is quite putrid so they wouldn't be edible. Or at least taste edible!

    • @dylanstewart5317
      @dylanstewart5317 6 років тому

      I've never eaten them but I want to try but it's hard when they live in some of the dirtiest waterways in SA keep up the great work

    I know you have to kill carp as they're classed as a pest but just think what it would be like to catch a 70 pounder you should watch a video called a trip to remember at dale hallow USA

    Hey mate
    Me beeing from Europe i know its not a carp goldfish hybrid
    Its a whole different species although closely related to carp
    Its known as the Carassius gibelio
    Goldfisch were bread from this fish wich means it’s basically the father of all goldfish
    Read it up online bruz

    • @Alexsfishin
      @Alexsfishin  6 років тому

      Cheers Chris, I used to call them Crucian, but kept hearing different thoughts, so decided to go with a hybrid. Thanks for the confirmation, needed to hear it from an enthusiast.

      Unlucky Kuan. They can be frustrating sometimes! One day it's a hot bite, next day it's as dead as a doornail.

      Yep unfortunately that’s how it goes, but that’s what makes fishing interesting
