    When I started boat upholstery damn. It was not easy to do at first. Working alone, you have to learn everything. So I did. Me, Fitness Inventor. Thanks for sharing.

    Very professional presentation and workmanship. I will definitely give it a try, although my threshold of satisfaction will be much lower. Still I think with the help of this video and your online store, I'll have a better chance.

    I have to do this on about a 3 ft section on my side panel. Would I be able to use pressure treated plywood to replace bad section and reuse vinyl? I have never done this before.

    • @SailriteDIY

      I would use a marine grade plywood and I would replace the old vinyl with new. Unless the old vinyl is in excellent shape.

    • @splash5974

      Thats plywood that they painted to help protect it from moisture.
      You can use 3/8", 1/2", or 5/8" plywood.

  • @sallylamb3343

    Did you cut the panels on the long edge of vinyl or cross grain?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  6 років тому

      We try to cut the vinyl fabric along the length or width, but not along the bias. If we make our own piping or cording we will cut that along the bias.

    • @SailriteDIY

      I have not tested the BeauClip on metal surfaces, but I think it would work. You may have three choices to mount the female clip on metal.
      1. A flat head drilling screws for metal #4 x 3/8" (which may be difficult to find in that small of a size).
      2. Sheet metal screw #4 x 3/8" (readily available).
      3. Or you may want to try to rivet it, as long as the rivet head sits mostly flat on the BeauClip flange.
      Some testing may be required to see which of the three choices above works best.

      For sheetmetal I would use countersunk (pop)rivets or you can use rivnuts and then screw the clip on with little screws.
