“Beautiful, stunning, breathtaking, ground breaking & riveting.” Casey takes us on a suspense filled adventure, encased within what can only be described as an artistic masterclass of cinematography. The Adventure is underpinned by ground breaking techniques to capture awe-inspiring footage, highlighting an age old proverb; “it’s not how shiny the toy, but knowing how to master your tools that counts”. This epic adventure outlines the quest of a lifetime, the valiant quest for the ultimate technology, one that could change the world (of UA-cam cinematography) forever. However with a plot twist, the protagonist learns that he didn’t have to travel far to find what he was looking for, and yet in a journey that could be described as eons long, he discovers that digging into the past could unlock the future, (whilst single handedly destroying eBay and other market places). @@phillipbanes5484 It looks, to me, roughly, like all the faded Eastman color prints that I've seen Jaws on. Eastman color does fade super fast, but even in the best restorations, the production design in Jaw's beach scenes has a kind of blue-tan-grey color pallet. It's not an exact match here by any means, but CC's location, camera, lens, and grade just combine to remind me of old prints and/or VHS tapes of movies with beach scenes in that era.
Not sure why I like this channel. The prolific content (several vids per week). Kasey's voice. His unusual comic timing, similar to Steven Wright. His flaws. The fact that a lot of his videos don't really go deep into the chosen topic. And yet here are some impressive video shots worth watching for years. This is quality content right here. Look at that final shot at 11:06. LOOK AT THAT!
I have been following you on both your channels and have seen every video you've done. This is by far the best and most cinematic looking video so far!!! I own this camera and it just has a look like no other but a pain to use! Check out the Contax Zeiss lenses they are affordable and have a mechanical aperture so much easier to use. You will need an adapter but the lenses are worth it.
I am genuinely so happy that you came over to the dark side; older "cinema" camera, crazy high aperture lens, and hipster-esque film look. I love the results.
Every single shot in this segment is so pleasing to look at even with UA-cam crappy compression. Thank you for this. I am going to start shooting on my OG again.
It's so satisfying to hear and see you here. You are so uniquely inspiring, free and cheeky. I put my BMPCC4k in the corner to work with the ORIGINAL again for about two years. thank you thank you for your wonderful work.
Just said something similar myself. That 1080p is looking good... Nvidia take notes because your 2 most recent gpu's should have been released in 2016 when 1080p gaming was for midrange graphics cards. Not in 2023.5

Your videos have made me really want the Black Magic Micro Cinema Camera. Has the same sensor as this except slightly updated, too, or at least the noise performance is improved. I have an external monitor already. It's a little box type camera with a few mounting points and I'm wanting to buy it. Batteries are supposed to last longer too! Your footage has been getting better and better with this bad boy. I do like the grading you've been doing, makes me think of a film a friend of mine made.
@@LiveMyJourneyTom Cool! Let me know when you post some Micro footage! Can't wait to hear what you think about the Micro vs. the OG. I love them both for different reasons.
Blackmagic cameras are great! I recently got a 17mm SLR Magic f1.6 cinema lens for my BMPCC4k in a micro four thirds mount. Used off ebay for around $100. It's not a very good lens, so to say, but since it's a cinema lens when it is used for video it is awesome! Especially the bokeh. Now I have a shtload of cinema lenses to waste my money on. Used SLR Magic lenses are oh so cheap. I also recently got the Alexa PowerGrade and LUT bundle. My footage now looks better that I've ever been able to grade using my own lying eyes.
Unfortunately, BM stopped using the Fairchild sensors from the BMPCC OG and BMCC 2.5k so the "film-like" rendering was lost when they started using these overly digital-like sensors for a more "modern" look. There is no LUT that can change that and even changing the RAW level on newer BM cameras to the older color science with Davinci Resolve Studio (paid version) doesnt really change it. Also, there is a 17mm SLR Magic f1.6 available locally that i can grab but i was told they are not "sharp enough", so im not sure lol.
Wow…the humor, most of all I love (except for the part about the cat and dog) but I love your HONESTY when you test things, not like a lot of UA-camrs who say good only things about products. Appreciate that about you
Regarding the SPEED BOOSTER aperture control: You can use the lens' ring by reversing the process. Set the speed booster at maximum and then use the lens' ring.
Love it! Had this exact combo in fact, but sold it when the funds were low. Now I have a BMCC 2.5K, which is basically the same image with more resolution and less moire issues. If you're going all in with spending on this, you could get a dji RS3 with the lidar autofocus, which can be used without the gimbal once programmed - I think you could get some very good selfie vlogging autofocus with such a system!
One of those Amazon Warehouse deals were too good and I bought the Fuji 150-600. They had that thing without insulation just rattling around in a bigger box lens cover off. No fragile written on it. Guess I should have bought a $15 item for secure packaging….
