    I'm a musician and composer who have always loved games, and especially the music in games. I have never even touched a game engine, nor have I done any coding, but I'm determined to try to make my own game during 2021! Thanks for these videos

      To make the map itself it’s just tilemapping as described here. Nothing different. Just creates the tile graphics to build up the town and then start building it up using those tiles.
      If you mean that you want to know how to make part/AI behaviors for the dynamic/interactive objets then that is anther topic.

    If you don't see the sprite renderer, then it is most likely because the selected object is not considered a sprite, if so then go to the hierarchy section and click your secondary mouse button, then hover over 2D Objects and select Sprite, then go to the inspector, here you can change the image of your sprite, and also use the sorting layer.

    For anyone trying to animate a sprite In version 2018.4.1. You need to open put a sprite on screen, select it, then go to window and select animate, then animate. This will bring you to a menu where you need to select create, then one by one slide in the animation frames. I really hope this helps, even though it might not be the best explanation, unity has a better one on their webpage. Have fun!

    My game is what I call an “experimentation” game. The game in question is Alphatoys, where you create toys out of the 26 letters of the alphabet.
    It is an “experimentation” game because you can create lots of toys from a single letter. For example, you can make a wind-up car or a club card from a letter B.

    if you want you can replace them with your own, handcrafted sprites later.... Where is the game design when people end up creating their game without code, without their own sprites? I think this video needs more emphasis on how you import your own sprites, because you make it sound like making your own sprites is some hard thing that you don't always do. I mean, It's not too hard to make some really basic sprites and import them in, showing one of the most common ways of basic early level design.
    I know this is just the basics, but I've seen practically everywhere, even on your dicord server, some people get the wrong idea.
    Other than that, I love the video! keep up the good work!

    • @raventhorX
      @raventhorX 6 років тому +1

      Well it's not that it's hard to import the sprites but that it's difficult for a beginner to quickly create something, even as an example, that will have some semblance of what you intend the Sprite to do. Even if it isnt that difficult it takes considerably more time to create the Sprite and then import it then it would to grab a free Sprite from the market place. However if he hasn't created a video series about it yet I would like to see him due so about Sprite creation and importing as well.
