    1. 2.7EB is the base engine, sure, no problem, but then they stripped it of all of the heavier towing packages to force you into a 5.0 or 3.5 if you want an F150 with more capability than a Ranger. "Streamlined product offerings"...read that as "We make the most profit on these"
    2. Can't get the hybrid now in anything but a 4x4 XLT. Some of us still want the hybrid to tow with (Especially with the 7.2kw gen) and don't need or want the added complexity of 4WD or the XLT trim level. (And fix your options so you can actually order the towing mirrors with a 'max tow' 3.5 Powerboost)
    3. Overall quality is in the doghouse. 5 Recalls on our 2022 Maverick and counting, F150's don't seem to be faring much better.
    4. Fix your 10R80 problems
    5. Have we fixed 3.5 cam phasers yet?
    6. Killed off the payload packages across the board (small sellers sure, but MEH)
    7. ~$50,000 for a 2.7 STX? - Seriously? This is where we are now?

    The market is finally self-correcting and we should all be thankful. Truck prices are simply out of control. There is no more "free money" and rates are insane, even with perfect credit. This needs to happen.
    For Ram in particular and yes I'm a fan, but they went absolutely insane on pricing with far less updates on their trucks against the Big 3(HDs especially). I hope this forces downward pressure on pricing, with incentives already pretty sizeable right now. GM is getting it right because they're being disciplined on their core truck pricing, their midgrade trucks.

    Due to the high prices of many vehicles, people are shifting their views on new vehicles ownership. I’ve noticed a growing trend of people appreciating and keeping their current vehicles for longer. More and more people who typically buy new every few years are choosing to wait longer because the additional benefit isn’t there for what you pay for.
    Today vehicles are not significantly better than they were few years ago but their prices have been raised as if it is the case. Inflation cannot be excused because automakers like Stellantis for example raised their prices by 50% despite inflation being at 22%. Most of the price decisions is out of corporate greed more than other reasons.

    • @slunasaurusrex
      @slunasaurusrex 2 дні тому

      The average age of U.S. vehicle is now up to 14 years old. People are holding on to their cars for longer than ever before because of the new vehicle costs. Also the average age of a new car buyer is also up to a record high of 53 years old. They're the only ones that can afford these new car prices and their the only ones buying new cars. This downturn shows the disconnect between what car companies are doing (fully jumping into the tech - everything trend) and what the people that actually buy the cars want especially considering their age (physical buttons and not having to have an IT degree to change the A/C blower speed). So it's not a surprise sales are down when the car they have works fine and the new one is more expensive and harder to use.

    So, trying to figure out why some trucks or up in sales while others are down in sales is tough. A lot of people think it's the high prices, but GM is up, and their trucks are just as expensive as the others. Is reliability the reason for Ram sales tanking, could be but do we know that for sure. The one that I think I have figured out is the Tundra. Last year I was looking at buying a new 1/2-ton pickup. The Tundra was my leading candidate. The problem las year was the lack of inventory at the dealers. I kept looking for one with the color, trim and packages I wanted but never could find the one. I even had a couple of salesmen looking for me, but they would always call me about ones that I didn't want. If I am paying that much money for a truck, it's going to be what I want. I just bagged the idea of a new truck and decided to stick to my old one that's paid for. I still check the dealers and their inventory is much higher than last year. So, sales are up because they have product to sell.
