There's no way that Josh isn't genius level intelligent. Most comedians take quite a while, on quite a few different stages, to work out a set and still have to bring notes on stage to remember where they're going next. Josh can do this because he does standup the same way I do, he goes in with a general idea of what he wants to talk about then just fireballs it, he rarely repeats jokes for this reason
He says he studies all current news stories in his free time to prepare for his next set. I don't think he writes and memorizes jokes, he just collects topics and stories to talk about and is naturally funny at delivering his knowledge/view of them.

My mom’s parents were married for 59 years. My grandmother passed away first, and she died on Father’s Day. We’re convinced that was on purpose, to ruin the one holiday he had that she couldn’t make about her.
when I was 14, during the 60s, most of the granny generation were still married "for life". We went with my cousins, aunt, uncle to visit relatives from my aunt;s extended family that I'd never met nor heard of before. They'd been married 40 or 50 years or something & once everyone get settled in there were 2 separate conversations, husband on one END of their couch & wife on the other.END -- as far apart as they could get. We were split between the2 each of them with half of us in front of them, but there were 2 SEPARATE conversations, or rather 2 separate monologues -- him telling ways she pissed him off & she's telling ways he pissed her off, & the whole time we can all hear both, & so can they. The whole time they're talking they've both got rabbit ears about what the other is saying about them, so they can get in their tag backs. Rumor was they hadn't said anything directly to each other in several years. But still living together. Kinda made me feel different about the stat for marriages that end up in divorce crossing the 50% line during my teen years. Like this is a GOOD thing, not a bad thing.
Besides the immense talent, there's something really refreshing about Josh's shows: he doesn't swear! Every other word is not "f*ck". I cannot, for the life of me, understand why otherwise intelligent people think swearing gives them style or personality...
Swearing can often be a very powerful form of punctuation, but you gotta put it in the right spot to really nail the impact. Also, he does swear, just not profusely.

Real talk, Josh as host of the Daily Show *sounds* like a fantastic pairing, but Josh's sense of humor is at his best when he's in control of what to say and about what topics, and I worry the Daily Show would force him to do certain shit he wouldn't want to do or didn't think was funny or shoot down jokes. I am hugely pro-Josh Johnson, which is why I'm a little "anti-Josh Johnson for host of Daily Show".

I literally just almost fainted trying to get a burrito. This shit has to stop, it’s far too fucking hot outside. I was at weinershnizle and there were no pigeons… no bees, no flys, nothing because it’s too god damn hot outside.
This makes me stay where I am. I don't think we've hit 90 yet this year (though we have 100% humidity), and it barely snows
Come to Florida, you'll have plenty of bugs lining up you bite you regardless of how hot it is.
It's too hot to eat any food that's not already in my house.
@@MrEazyE357 fuck me, omg yes. I feel like I’m getting back at my land lord by using the AC to keep my dog and my wife alive. Not in that order.
I had to drag my dog inside at 8am because it was already in the high 80's. She wanted to go on a walk, but I'm sorry, the walk can wait until the sun goes down. The humidity attached to this heat is oppressive.
"Gurl, I'll drop the central air a few extra degrees for you. Turn all the ceiling fans on together. And a fresh box of cicles. Whatcha say? Hmm?"
This guy is a keeper!
Dude, put a NSFW warning next time! 😄
I like the way you talk🥵
I'm down
Netflix and literally chill.
The bus guy whose girlfriend was 11 months pregnant was pure gold.
10 months is believable to me because my niece was born after 10 months. But 11 months!? 😅😅
@@simoneanne01 i was 2 months pregnant and kept having negative pregnancy test ( i have PCOS) i told the navy dr blood test me. Lo and behold i was pregnant. I was pregnant for at least 10 months.
No joke my daughter talked her first day. She said agoo, agaa, agee.
"Welcome to the hottest summer of your life so far and coolest summer for the rest of your life"
My mom’s parents were married for 59 years. My grandmother passed away first, and she died on Father’s Day. We’re convinced that was on purpose, to ruin the one holiday he had that she couldn’t make about her.
I can honestly relate to your comment sadly
when I was 14, during the 60s, most of the granny generation were still married "for life".
We went with my cousins, aunt, uncle to visit relatives from my aunt;s extended family
that I'd never met nor heard of before.
They'd been married 40 or 50 years or something & once everyone get settled in there were
2 separate conversations, husband on one END of their couch & wife on the other.END -- as
far apart as they could get. We were split between the2 each of them with half of us in front
of them, but there were 2 SEPARATE conversations, or rather 2 separate monologues -- him telling ways she pissed him off & she's telling ways he pissed her off, & the whole time we can all hear both, & so can they. The whole time they're talking they've both got rabbit ears
about what the other is saying about them, so they can get in their tag backs. Rumor was
they hadn't said anything directly to each other in several years. But still living together.
Kinda made me feel different about the stat for marriages that end up in divorce crossing
the 50% line during my teen years. Like this is a GOOD thing, not a bad thing.
Talking about people coming to you with “boring” problems……omg, I’m dying . Frfr 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for doing what you do, we need it right now more than ever.
That community Uber line really killed. That's wild
Anyone else notice the camera work evolving? 🤔 The zoom ins are really giving that official vibe. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I ain't never met that ice cream truck child, but i am already intensely proud of them!
I am also intensely impressed at Josh because i would have fallen over laughing immediately upon hearing them sass the ice cream truck!
I don’t understand how you aren’t A list yet, but baby you’re headed there! Your wit is incredible and I see your commitment to be out performing what feels like every day.
This man literally inspired me to start writing comedy bits and i hear his cadence in my own writing and even just conversation thank you for being a good chill up-to-date in-the-middle comedian and giving it to us just straight w both facts and then hitting the punch every time 🫡🫡
“Come through and get chilly.”😂
It's definitely cooler here in the PNW & we're grateful... now just hoping for some serious rain across the state to help reduce the chance of fires 🤞🏽 🌧️
Portland’s had a couple of heat waves already.
Ugh. August is going to be horrific. 🥵
I follow an animal sanctuary in WA, I'll pray for that rain, too
We already have a few fires in eastern WA 😢 and there is a dry thunderstorm where I am. So perfect recipe for more fire.
@mirny1509 😔 the sanctuary rescued a few cows a few years back, to keep the grasses low in the meadows at the top of the mountain, so that it if another fire comes close to them, it'll still be farther away from last time. And the fired dept ust visited and ran a check last week.
Stay safe
Chance? We're on fire already. WA, OR, MT. All eyes, people.
8:41 That was a perfect Animal Crossing villager sound
Haha 😂 yes!!!
I only found Josh yesterday and he’s already my favourite comedian.
But the more I watch him, the more I can see how intelligent, articulate and NICE he is.
And he has the most beautiful and genuine smile.
I hope he never changes and becomes someone else.
And using “community Uber” has the advantage of giving a lot of comedic material. 😊
Josh is on TDS now and speaks his truth...so...what are you speaking of??? Don't wish something for this amazing, wonderful, truthful man that he doesn't want for himself. You don't know him like that.
You know that he’s been a writer on the Daily Show since 2017. So I wouldn’t worry too much about him. Both versions of himself are great.
Josh has been a writer on tds for years. I'm sure he writes whatever he does.
Same here. I know he already IS part of the show, but for him to become the main host... since he hasn't yet, perhaps it's just not his "thing" 🤷♀️
@@datgrrl_official There is a huge difference between writing and doing small pieces on camera and being the host.
The last few haven't exactly been quiet about how much they hated it. I don't want that for Josh.
Lastly, Josh has said himself that the Internet is all gas no brakes, and they can push you into doing things you'd rather not.
Facebook Marketplace is INSANE 😂😂
I was not expecting that at all 😂😂
On this episode: how many different ways can Josh Johnson say "city bus"
Thanks!
15:30 loved the audible reaction to the vitamix
The man dead in his wife’s bed, and she complains, ‘and I told him to take out the trash, and he didn’t do it’ was too perfect. Thanks, Josh.
I am so excited to see Josh in NYC. Got my tickets within an hour of drop. Dude is so consistently killer. Does not miss
🤣🤣🤣 and I'm in a corner of the Netherlands still waiting for the summer to begin after a rainy cold winter and spring! I don't think winter or spring has left the area🫡
Thank you for making me laugh anyways and I can't wait to see this one! 🙌🏾💗💕
Jealous. I'm just happy to be on the West Coast US, which hasn't yet hit 40° c, even if yesterday it passed 39. The East Coast of the US, however, is baking.
The global average temperature hit 17.09° c yesterday. That's over 2/10 of a degree higher than it's ever been.
@edwardallenthree shoot, it's been 104 to 108 degrees F in the central California for the past month and a half lol. Been loving it for my trade
@@alhen9023 Do you sell water or air conditioning?
@@alhen9023 for the rest of the world, that is 40° c, and it's really freaking hot.
Edit: My dad grew up in Red Bluff... I can't imagine living there today.
Well, here in Belgium, when I moved about 15 years ago, I was promised rainy summers.
It delivered the first years, but lately, it can get so hot we start to complain and miss winter.
And winter is sometimes so mild that my vegetables get confused thinking it's spring or smth.
Josh is one of the best stand ups out right now.
Clubs AC must be exceptional as he's wearing jeans and a zipped up hoodie.
Watching this premiere while I’m on a bus in Singapore🤣🤣🤣 but the bus culture here is different, people are generally quiet and mind their own businesses 😅
There are Express buses in New York from the outskirts such as where my friends live in the Bronx, and you're not supposed to be on your phone when you're on that bus
@@LindaC616 oh, that sounds interesting😄
Haha, I'd miss my stop, too. Such a funny man.❤😊
❤ this set is pure gold. Relatable king. 👑
We (Earth) had “THE hottest day EVER” on Monday apparently… so. yeah. that happened.
😳😲😱
It`´s really uncomfortable to watch somebody in a hoodie talk about how hot it is.
I'm sure we'll top it soon enough!
hottrst day m the last 27 trilli years
I love your shows but can we all agree that hearing certain people laugh just gets me 😂
Constantly coming up with new and relevant material.
And it's hilarious
Ready to laugh with you. I appreciate you. Listening to your podcast right now; one of the times you were "poisoned" by food. Lost count of how many times. Be careful eating out there; especially in the heat. 😊
Mesa AZ, just moved from Florida., the sun here is viscous!
FL not Sunshine State, that would be AZ. Finally getting down to 110 degrees and close to 88 at night.
Real excited. I look forward to these all week.
meanwhile in the southern hemisphere we hitting colds i didn’t think were possible
Saw him do the bus bit in Calgary! Lined up to meet him afterwards - I said he was the first famous person I've met. He hit me back with "aw... nah". Super humble guy!
Josh Johnson is a very good storyteller, my ribs hurt. This has to be one of his best.
I'm still laughing at the grandmother's initial response!!Josh, thank you for being you. Long time fan. Love seeing you in person on TDS.
Josh’s timing is true perfection.
5:49 the bus. Aka The People's Limousine!!! Priceless...or...$1 a ride for seniors.
I rarely comment. But you Sir are so worth the effort. How amazing to be on the front lines of watching the next Dave Chappelle being brought forth. You are so on your way to Greatness. How amazing.
This guy is brilliant. I just know he is going to wildly succeed.
Yesterday was the hottest day ever recorded. On Earth. Ever.
Yet we waste away and do absolutely nothing about it. But everything's fine apparently.
unreal. it's like hotter than the last. recorded. hottest. on earth. ever. weird how records work o.o
It’s sad that we’ve been duped into politicizing our environment and are behaving like the frogs in a boiling pot.
It's what keeps me where I am. I don't think it broke 90 here.and it barely shows in the winter
Hottest day ever SO FAR 😎
I moved into a new apartment…and I don’t know WHAT this building is made out of but the heat does not get in. I don’t even turn on the AC! It’s not insane hot outside, we’re usually at 28-32 Celsius (which is normal hot for Ontario now) but in my old building I had AC on 24/7 bc that heat got IN. this new building is scary I didn’t even have to turn on the AC when we hit 36! I’m probably in trouble come Canadian winter lmao. Though admittedly, last winter we barely dropped below 0 degrees. Hahaha. Ha.
It’s only going to get hotter
Nice! That apartment is a keeper!
I can't imagine where else I want to live than here because of the weather. I don't think we've hit 90 yet this summer, and it barely snows. I might have to shovel snow once or twice a year
I am an Irish/German descendant born and raised in NY, currently living in SC. I dated a Puerto Rican that kept her room at over 87° using a small work heater. The amount of times I had to say “Nah, babe, not tonight. You keep the blankets to yourself, I’ll be a piece of beef jerky in the morning.”
Sir, you were dating a lizard.
🤭🤭🤭✨️🫡🥂🌅👋🏽😉
I thought I liked it hot
Yes! Tuesdays With Josh! Let's do this!❤
