"We need to do a much better job of believing men"!!!! Theres so much homophobia surrounding coverage of this case that its harmful to folks, and furthermore i remember when Terry Crews started opening up about the sexual harassment and assaults he faced coming into acting and people made so many cruel jokes about how such a huge strong man could be a victim. He deserved better, and male victims of sex crimes deserve bettee.
Everyone deserves better. Brendan Fraser basically became a recluse because he was groped by the ex-president of the Golden Globes and long time member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. After an investigation by the HFPA, they concluded that Fraser was indeed groped but it “was intended to be taken as a joke and not as a sexual advance.” Disgusting. Oh that ex-president also said Black Lives Matter was a "racist hate movement."
Yes!! It’s so wild to me that, for a while now actually, people have been more concerned with the fact that he might be bi (or something) than the heinous things he’s done to the male survivors. Freaking mind blowing.
"The more you feed ego, the more you starve your spirit" this is an amazing quote. Once again showing Josh is on another level,. Weaving philosophy and social/political commentary with comedy.
Josh is in a weight class completely of his own. The consistency and quality in putting out a whole hour of educated research made comedy is something that entire teams of professional writers can't even match. Incredible work.
He's building up his craft so much by getting on the stage so often. Inspires me to keep grinding (surgeon in training here) and to put in the hours. It all adds up.
We’ve been astounded with how quickly he has new material- faster than most news outlets! PS- he’s rocking the suit on TDS, but I’m concerned with his shoes. We need to find him some shoes that work with his new gig.
Imagine being a comedian, being good at it, while also being smart, informative and showing empathy. It's great to see guys like you out there. I hope it weeds out all of the "if it's not offensive then it can't be funny" ppl
It’s amazing how well Josh can hold comedic tension around such heavy topics while delivering powerful truths. Also, that he chose to use his last few sentences to mention that one of the reasons these injustices happen is because black women are the victims - that is an incredible example of his understanding of the effectiveness of proper timing. Bravo! I hope the world begins to hold these monsters accountable.
It shouldn’t be controversial to say “male victims of abuse should be treated the same way as female victims.” All victims deserve justice, no matter their gender or sexuality. Period.
@@wailingalen did I mis-autocorrect “persecuted” as “protected” at some point, and that’s what you’re pointing out, or did you mis-autocorrect it? =w=;
@@MoonSquareVenus surprisingly, quite a few people, especially if it’s in cases of women attacking men, like “hot” school teachers grooming a male student, its more likely that people (especially men, for some reason) will comment dumb things like: “Why wasn’t she in my school when I was a student.” It’s really horrible to tell a child “You’re lucky you were molested” just because the one attacking him was conventionally attractive, or to have the trauma be made fun of or minimised cuz it was a woman who hurt him :(
I once saw an interview with Jerry Seinfeld, where he said it took a year for him to prepare for the Netflix special. Other comedians have said similar things. Consider that Josh works a full-time job with the daily show, works every weekend doing stand up and does a new show every week.. So he prepares a new show every week and works a full-time job. It's utterly remarkable. I realized that his shows are more or less improv, but it still requires some research and prep. No one in entertainment works harder. And he just announced he's going to start streaming two shows a week
I don’t think it’s “more or less improv.” I thinks he delivers it in a way, with such great pacing, pauses, etc., that it seems like he’s just chatting. I don’t mean to say he’s got this written word for word or anything. Just that I think he’s very intentional about his comedy persona. (Which I have to believe is close to his own self.)
It comes across as effortless in a way because he seems so comfortable and confident. He’s clearly gifted at his craft, I’m really enjoying all the laughter!!! ❤
I think it deserves to be highlighted how Josh Johnson's pre-production is in a class all of its own among comedians. Not only does he have multiple camera angles set up, and not only are some of those angles set up with the expectation of doing slow pans, but he has SMASH ZOOMS that I genuinely wonder about, as in: Were they really just done in post? Because these videos come out so fast and so often and the overall sophistication of how they're produced is on such bold display already that if feels like he might literally have, like, a dedicated mini-camera set up just to grab a single of his hand as he's snapping his fingers or something. It's unreal. And it almost feels kinda philosophical as a choice, like Josh is saying: "This is a secondhand document of a live performance experience, if people are gonna get excited about this, I should match that excitement by enhancing certain beats in a way that the live audience DIDN'T get to experience." I really hope he goes on to work in television in a whole bunch of ways. I hope the Daily Show connection leads to him doing stuff like producing other people's specials with the same people he's currently working with. There's so many layers of understanding and craft in him, I think we're still just scratching the surface here. And he's already amazing.
I totally agree! Josh is the MOST AMAZING comedian I have ever seen!! He is so real, genuine, caring and loving people !! I really like the way that he brings up the latest, most important issues AND works BOTH humor and seriousness into his routine all together!! I am THRILLED that he is so popular at his young age so we get a lifetime to watch him become EVEN MORE AMAZING over his lifetime!! Josh is my most favorite comedian EVER!!❤❤😂😂😅😅🎉🎉🎉🎉
John Johnson is a special kind of GOAT. Together with his team, he could more or less be described as "independent". Hopefully he doesn't go down the path of taking a job hosting a traditional TV show. Those routines will burn out his talent, as they did and do for many others. The artist himself and his grown networks deserve to remain outmost independent in their decisions like they are. They will make it anyway because they are good and authentic and special in their way. ❤
@@C11-c1y7l He's setting the bar so high for when he produces a proper special. I'm picturing it opening with a skit that has the type of dark, surreal, insane energy of an older Tyler, The Creator video. It should feel like an EVENT.
I love how smooth he is. This is a terrible situation & still find a way to find a little humor. Not re-victimizing the victims. But exposing the monster.
Thank you, Josh. Black women in America are victimized and unprotected - it's a long-standing American tradition. To hear you acknowledge this reality when you have the ear of so many ppl brings me to tears. Thank you for speaking up for me and my sisters. You're a blessing!
i've made it a point in the past if a black woman i work with needs a ride home she gets it no questions asked ( ill give almost anyone a ride tbf but especially black women)

So many comedians I just can't listen to! So vulgar! I was a hippie and I used and still use the f word freely but with a lot of comedians every other word is a bad one. Refer to George Carlin's Seven Words You Can't Use on Television! He used them in his routines but they didn't take over. Now anything goes on late night TV.
Imagine "loving" your "best friend" so much that you outsource your tribute song in his memory to another rapper and use that song to go bazillion platinum (Diddy did that- I'll be missing you)

When I heard 50 hated him I was like "please do another JaRule". It's soooo mean, but like Josh says, it's crazy funny that he bought all those tickets to spite him. He paid the man to insult him. He paid him in the second way you can actually insult them, first being like they're a sex worker when they're not, in particular throwing it at them to pick up.
@Monica-vt4mz I saw him tell the story on Colbert, when he was trying to teach Colbert how to beef🤣. 50 said about buying all those Ja Rule tickets.' Now we're gonna test your showmanship...' . Check out 50 with Colbert, they're really funny together, there are some videos

The problems with being Diddy's Lawyer are: 1. You have to read every filing describing in detail what he did. 2. You have to watch the video evidence (because of course Diddy recorded himself doing bad things to people) of the accusations against him. 3. You have to interrogate and argue against his accusers, with a straight face. 4. Unless you have a stroke or get dementia right afterwards, you have to live with the knowledge of what Diddy did for a very long time. I might be broke and have a kid in college, but I think I'll pass on being his lawyer. I like to be able to eat and keep my food down for the rest of my life.
When I first graduated from law school, I did contract work for a year. The client was facing something or other against the SEC, and we had to go through the hard drives of all the executives. One poor girl had to spend a week clicking, one by one, at photos of one guy’s wife in various states of undress (a full TB worth 😖). She was miserable. Now imagine that, but it’s your client, whom you have an ethical obligation to vigorously defend, and you make some poor schmuck just out of law school go through all those photos and videos. Having to rewind, look for defenses, everything. ALL. BAD. I hope they’re paying enough to make it worth it.

Josh and Fluffy are the only comedians I can listen too.. they don’t resort to nasty sex innuendos and “dark humor” that isn’t funny but disturbing; they are story tellers and actually engage the audience with real actual comedy 🎭 🥳❤️
I love the lack of profanity. They both prove you don't have to throw f bombs every second word to be funny. Josh and Fluffy are the 2 best truly funny comedians out there. Just by being themselves and talking like they are talking to their best friends. So natural. I love them both. Josh's voice alone keeps me listening and Fluffy's sound effects do the same.
Josh touched on something so deep. It's so hard for guys to come forward. The discourse around the male victims has been so disheartening. Lots of mockery and disrespect, and it's disgusting. Such treatment is part of the reason people stay quiet. But thank goodness they are coming forward and bringing this to light. We can't let these predators get away with this.
when i started posting about SA i had a lot of men reach out to me to tell me their stories. and i saw it a lot teaching. it's heartbreaking- it's the same reason a lot of women get SA-ed (power, control, asserting dominance) but we treat it so differently. it's absolutely a blind spot/missing piece of our understanding of our societal structure
Yeah tbh I think the official statistics of sexual assault and abuse are completely incorrect. Almost everyone I know of any gender has been sexually assaulted or harassed in various ways. Difference is, most of the girls know. Most of the guys have no idea.
Josh: I can't imagine hating Diddy as much as 50 cent. That man edited. Also Josh: uploads a 1 hour video about diddy's downfall. With multiple camera angles. Man mastered the art of diddy hating without even realising it. He pulled a karate kid of hating.
As soon as I saw the title, I immediately remembered his clip from ages ago about how Diddy was/is the only black celebrity that isn’t held up as a role model. I remember I was mind blown 🤯 when I saw that clip because I hadn’t thought of him in ages and when I did know of him I thought he was fine (I was a kid). But when he disappeared, no one really said anything. And I forget who Josh used as an example, but someone in the community would be someone who had basically the smallest amount of notoriety and/or wealth, but when Diddly left, everyone from the community basically just pretended he never really existed. Just crickets. Friggin creeped me out. But then this story broke and I was all “well daaaaauuuumn! Thank you Josh for preparing me earlier or I’d be devastated.” Because all I ever can think of when I hear his name is the song, music and lyrics, from “I’ll be Missing You”. So hearing this whole thing still makes my mind fragment worse than finding out about R-Kelly cuz at least his made sense, we alllllll heard about the pee incident, and about him dating Aaliyah, which on some level was creepy, but somehow we all made ourselves not think about it. Yeah, he made sense, but this one, it just makes my mind go “Hot day-um, he better get everything thrown at him for being a p.o.s.”

@yahikokurotama4351 he didn't pit us against each other, he was clear in putting across what women go through when we speak out, while also pointing out that it's also terrible for men and how most male victims will never come forward due not only the fear of societal backlash, but how anyone knowing what happened to them would affect themselves psychologically
This comedy set was important. I understand that a comedians role is to be funny (which you were) but I also understand that it is a comedians job to hold up a mirror to society. I think you accomplished that. Those sincere moments hit pretty hard. That silence in the audience was defining and hopefully you took it as a sign of respect. You put on a masterclass. Great job.
I don't know which I love more- when Josh stiffens his lips to hold his laugh back, while he's got a huge smile on his face, or when he unexpectedly lets one of those rare deep laughs roll out!
Josh, I just returned last year from 7 years in Vietnam teaching English. Your comments about being an expat billionaire there hit so hard. It’s absolutely common to see some big, old, slovenly unkempt man walking down the street hand in hand with his beautiful 18 year old girlfriend. This guy is there because no one would have him back home. They get by with all manner of misbehaviors, but people put up with it because their money fuels the local economy. Wow, was wild to hear you say it. Insightful in your brief time there.
Agreed, the men who want mail order brides typically resort to much younger ones from foreign countries since no women in their home countries would put up with their masochistic, controlling abusive ways. It's odd how even now, Asian women are all blanket generalized as being 'submissive, obedient, meek' when Asian women are the ones who rule the households, bank accounts, schedules, etc all while having full time/part time professions. Mail order brides are braver than these creeps think since they did just sacrifice their entire lives for the chance at improving their families' future in a country where they have zero safety net and maybe don't speak the language. I've met some who quickly learned English, got a college degree through night school, and then divorced their creepy much older husbands and took them to the cleaners. They made the best out of a crappy toxic situation and made their own futures. They're more cunning and brave than I am.

@@baronvonsatan Like with all disorders, people are still individuals, and not everyone with ASPD is dangerous or inherently evil. It is a type of neurodivergence with a strong genetic component, and growing up in a difficult or abusive environment can make it worse. Key components of ASPD is being quite self-serving and not being quite capable of caring what other people think of you when it's of no substantial benefit to your life, so it's not that weird for someone with ASPD to "admit it out in public" on an anonymous account, since they likely won't be affected by anything a stranger has to say to them in a way a normal person might. They might also enjoy the responses they get when they say outrageous things online, since they don't really have the capacity to comprehend or care about it being potentially harmful, annoying or disruptive in the way most other people do. A fair amount of people with ASPD still manage to live a pretty normal life and function well enough within relationships thanks to putting in the work, and getting treatment and support. A lot of people with ASPD would indeed be a toxic component of your life, but ASPD is not Badperson Disorder, so there's also plenty of people with ASPD who genuinely care for the people important to them even if they struggle with affective empathy.

When you learn Diddy's origin story from childhood, you realize he's more than just a regular guy corrupted by money and power. Diddy is a textbook supervillain who was destined to cause pain and destruction. His father was a hitman and crime lord who was murdered after becoming a police informant. His mother was a prostitiute that sexually abused and groomed Diddy, literally training him to become her pimp and the father died. Diddy was a victim of the exact things he went on to do to others. Taking down Diddy is a healing moment for society as a whole.
I see what you're saying and have sympathy for that devil in one sense. But what Diddy did. He made choices and continued to choose the wrong thing, the bad thing, the easy thing that he wanted at that moment, leaving a wake of wreckage of people. He may have been molded to become what he is, but he chose to wreck people. He could've just wrecked himself. Or ... Or ... He could've chosen the opposite. He could've chosen to be and do better. He could've been a force for good in the world. But he failed.

He deserved better, and male victims of sex crimes deserve bettee.
AMEN!

And it almost feels kinda philosophical as a choice, like Josh is saying: "This is a secondhand document of a live performance experience, if people are gonna get excited about this, I should match that excitement by enhancing certain beats in a way that the live audience DIDN'T get to experience."
I really hope he goes on to work in television in a whole bunch of ways.
John Johnson is a special kind of GOAT. Together with his team, he could more or less be described as "independent".
Hopefully he doesn't go down the path of taking a job hosting a traditional TV show. Those routines will burn out his talent, as they did and do for many others.

The problems with being Diddy's Lawyer are:

Jim Gaffigan is the same . Very funny, but clean comedy.
Jessica Kirson and Jordan Jensen are two of my other stand up faves. Heavy on the crowd work, which, when done so well, is hilarious.
That's right. And Justin Bieber was one of his victims as well at a very young age
Yeah tbh I think the official statistics of sexual assault and abuse are completely incorrect. Almost everyone I know of any gender has been sexually assaulted or harassed in various ways. Difference is, most of the girls know. Most of the guys have no idea.

It's genuinely wild. I've been here for about a year's worth of Tuesdays and he never misses.
Thank you for speaking out for male survivors! I was an Army Chaplain and I’ve heard SO many of these PAINFUL stories from TOUGH powerful men. They were so scared to come forward in our patriarchy. They were never SEEN. Thank you for your courage ❤️🩹🙏🏽🙏🏽😭
They ain't no survivor's and no victims
Thank you for your service 💚 Our DA tried to charge him (he kept a house here for entertainment) but the mayor blocked it claiming it would harm our growing music industry. My partner worked for him as Bldg & Grounds team. He's a nasty 1 & I hope they put him in R Kelly's cell. Or Epsteins. Or El Chapo's. He needs to realize the destruction he has caused. 🙏
Thank you for being the kind of person that they could trust with their truth. You know more than most how few people report.
Thank you for your service as an Army Chaplain, your work is appreciated and respected.
Thank you Chap for all that you've done ❤🪖🫡
Hey Josh! This the first time I'm seeing and listening to you, your just like my nephew and I'm really amazed about how you talk on these kinda topics with ease, not swearing and keeping people glued to their seats... Really amazed to see how talented you are😊
Never heard Josh's evil laugh before.
Yep. And I am loving it every time.
*righteous
Someone under one of his other videos described Josh as "the face of a baby, the laugh of an octogenarian"
Right,
Me too! Awesome 🤣
Correction, l rewatched today another video about Diddy he did,you can hear bits of it,it was in the works...
"He made his own case"..THAT'S the arrogance that comes from NO CONSEQUENCES for 25 years. Sean's DEPRAVITY was ALLOWED and eventually even ENCOURAGED, for TWENTY FIVE YEARS.
U all cap
@@pep-d7dhow?
Soooo, EVIDENTLY, they're ALL DEPRAVED! 💁♀️💁♀️💁♀️
Let that sit in your spirit. Also, the number of people who knew. And as long as they were all getting the bag they were silent. Like Katt said "24" is the year of Revelation. Epstein and Diddy have a lot of powerful people behind and in front of them. Cassie was the catalyst for Diddy's reckoning but, there are alot more Cassie's out here. May justice be served to all involved.

@@kavlara "Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) is an adult diagnosis characterized by a persistent pattern of disregard for and violation of others' rights, beginning in childhood or early adolescence. Individuals with ASPD often manipulate others for personal gain, lack empathy, and seldom feel remorse for their actions."
and this dude just admitted it right out in public
Josh Johnson's output of new QUALITY content is truly unreal.
"Imagine hating someone so much you're willing to edit" - I snorted my coffee, thanks Josh.

JJ had managed to make his standup feel like sitting on a porch at night, having a few drinks/smokes with your buds after work and just gassing each other up. Absolutely immaculate vibes.
Exactly this point!!! It's like everything you love about hanging with your friends and talking about world events.
Yes! Word to Dave Chappelle. I think he does it the same way
@@kitcowool Used to be a big Chappelle fan until he let the money get to his head. Now he's inviting Musk onstage and keeping poor people from moving into his neighborhood. Dearly hoping JJ doesn't move the same way.

I cold listen to Josh Johnson ALL DAY. Great comedy, story telling and philosophy. So good.
I came across Josh randomly and now he’s one of my favorite comics out. Absolutely phenomenal
Same!
I stumbled across some of his first videos and he was adorable. Now I sorta feel like I'm his proud other mom lol.
I'm leaving a comment to prove someday that i was here when it began. I witnessed Josh Johnson the moment his path skyrocketed. He's paving a brilliant path, and I'm so proud to watch it unfold. 💐
Shame when his scandal comes out remember the pure days
Naw... you gotta be there when he didn't have braids lol
❤
Same! Here for it. This comment is proof. I will see Josh Johnson in Indy in a couple weeks! 🤭
Ha ha, you're a few years late for "where it began" but I'm glad you've found him and like him
BEST comedian in the game right now, truly a master of stand-up. Thank you for all the laughs Josh.
You have some of the best timing and tonal talent out there, man. Glad to see you getting bigger and bigger. Thanks for writing as often as you do.
This set and the one Josh did in Toronto explaining the Kendrick concert... These are comedy industry GOLD! Much like we replay certain Carlin, Pryor, or Bernie Mac sets, this and the Toronto sets are historic and will become comedic cannon. 🏆🎉
I look forward to the day Josh gets the Mark Twain prize. Genius like his is legendary. So many of his Sets have changed the way I look at the world.
His skill, content, and prolific release amount has set the bar so high … I can never look at any comedian the same

For a second the higher ups and people with more power are still out there.
He also attended catholic boy school 🤔
It really sucks when a victim becomes a villain, and this seems like the most clear case of that.
😂
I see what you're saying and have sympathy for that devil in one sense. But what Diddy did. He made choices and continued to choose the wrong thing, the bad thing, the easy thing that he wanted at that moment, leaving a wake of wreckage of people. He may have been molded to become what he is, but he chose to wreck people. He could've just wrecked himself. Or ... Or ... He could've chosen the opposite. He could've chosen to be and do better. He could've been a force for good in the world. But he failed.
I laughed entirely too hard! 😆 Josh has been one of my favs from the past few yrs. He keeps me up w/ the latest headlines while adding much needed comedy relief! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️🖤💚
"If you're too young too remember" made me feel ancient when I did, in fact, remember 💀😭
I remember when MTV first came out. Grainy videos of Madonna, then eventually of Michael Jackson, prine etc
But WE still here!!! Remember: They not like US!😂😂😂😂💛
One of the things that should've clued us in was how so many of us assumed Diddy had something to do with Biggie's death. His vibes were so vile that we were like "naaah....he did that shit".
And then made money off his name longer than the poor man ever lived!
Kinda like we all knew what R. Kelly did to that girl... Even though he got away with it...
Weeks before Biggie got out of that contract. Plus Tupac said Diddy was responsible for the Quad Studios shooting.

Just listening to the people in your audience laugh cracks me up! Thanks for being a breath of fresh air during these crazy times. I'm a 66 yr old white woman born in Louisiana and I'm loving you 😊!
I like how Costco clapped back with a public statement saying that they do not sell baby oil.
Even at the beginning, Josh isn't necessarily telling punchlines he's just explaining to the Audience so they understand the entire set in case anyone is missing some info on Diddy, and even then he's still absolutely HILARIOUS. Just the way he speaks casually is funny, that's why he's such a good comedian, he's a natural talent.
Every time Josh pauses and says, OK, and has to go on a tangent to explain something, you know it will be extra hilarious.

Spot on! What makes Josh so fun to watch is how he explains things, whether someone needs the backstory or already knows what’s going on. He never sounds condescending, and even when he’s going over familiar stuff, he finds a way to keep it funny and fresh. He knows how to make everyone laugh, no matter how much they already know:)
@@Rainyrachreads I also really love how he will tell a totally unrelated story, tbats also hilarious, and then connect it back to his set topic.

I truly find him funny. But quit protecting the Obamas are not innocent by no means. We need leadership in this country. Quit defending Kamala. I hear it in his comedy. Our country is in dire straits atm. She is not a Leader but a puppet. Trump is not perfect but he is not afraid to put the breaks on Wars, Border issues, Cartels, etc... Josh Johnson is not for being biased. Against Republicans. But I still am enjoying is comedy. It's America! That's what makes us Great! No disrespect. Just my opinion. We need more laughter.
