Theres so much homophobia surrounding coverage of this case that its harmful to folks, and furthermore i remember when Terry Crews started opening up about the sexual harassment and assaults he faced coming into acting and people made so many cruel jokes about how such a huge strong man could be a victim. After an investigation by the HFPA, they concluded that Fraser was indeed groped but it “was intended to be taken as a joke and not as a sexual advance.” Disgusting. Oh that ex-president also said Black Lives Matter was a "racist hate movement."

I once saw an interview with Jerry Seinfeld, where he said it took a year for him to prepare for the Netflix special. Other comedians have said similar things. Consider that Josh works a full-time job with the daily show, works every weekend doing stand up and does a new show every week.. So he prepares a new show every week and works a full-time job. It's utterly remarkable. I realized that his shows are more or less improv, but it still requires some research and prep. No one in entertainment works harder. And he just announced he's going to start streaming two shows a week

    • @ProHobbyjogger

I don’t think it’s “more or less improv.” I thinks he delivers it in a way, with such great pacing, pauses, etc., that it seems like he’s just chatting.
I don’t mean to say he’s got this written word for word or anything. Just that I think he’s very intentional about his comedy persona. (Which I have to believe is close to his own self.)

I think it deserves to be highlighted how Josh Johnson's pre-production is in a class all of its own among comedians. Not only does he have multiple camera angles set up, and not only are some of those angles set up with the expectation of doing slow pans, but he has SMASH ZOOMS that I genuinely wonder about, as in: Were they really just done in post? Because these videos come out so fast and so often and the overall sophistication of how they're produced is on such bold display already that if feels like he might literally have, like, a dedicated mini-camera set up just to grab a single of his hand as he's snapping his fingers or something. It's unreal. And it almost feels kinda philosophical as a choice, like Josh is saying: "This is a secondhand document of a live performance experience, if people are gonna get excited about this, I should match that excitement by enhancing certain beats in a way that the live audience DIDN'T get to experience."
I really hope he goes on to work in television in a whole bunch of ways. I hope the Daily Show connection leads to him doing stuff like producing other people's specials with the same people he's currently working with. There's so many layers of understanding and craft in him, I think we're still just scratching the surface here. And he's already amazing.

John Johnson is a special kind of GOAT. Together with his team, he could more or less be described as "independent".
Hopefully he doesn't go down the path of taking a job hosting a traditional TV show. Those routines will burn out his talent, as they did and do for many others.
The artist himself and his grown networks deserve to remain outmost independent in their decisions like they are. They will make it anyway because they are good and authentic and special in their way. ❤

The problems with being Diddy's Lawyer are:
    1. You have to read every filing describing in detail what he did.
    2. You have to watch the video evidence (because of course Diddy recorded himself doing bad things to people) of the accusations against him.
    3. You have to interrogate and argue against his accusers, with a straight face.
    4. Unless you have a stroke or get dementia right afterwards, you have to live with the knowledge of what Diddy did for a very long time.
I might be broke and have a kid in college, but I think I'll pass on being his lawyer. I like to be able to eat and keep my food down for the rest of my life.

One poor girl had to spend a week clicking, one by one, at photos of one guy’s wife in various states of undress (a full TB worth 😖). She was miserable.
Now imagine that, but it’s your client, whom you have an ethical obligation to vigorously defend, and you make some poor schmuck just out of law school go through all those photos and videos. Having to rewind, look for defenses, everything. ALL. BAD.

As soon as I saw the title, I immediately remembered his clip from ages ago about how Diddy was/is the only black celebrity that isn’t held up as a role model. I remember I was mind blown 🤯 when I saw that clip because I hadn’t thought of him in ages and when I did know of him I thought he was fine (I was a kid). But when he disappeared, no one really said anything. And I forget who Josh used as an example, but someone in the community would be someone who had basically the smallest amount of notoriety and/or wealth, but when Diddly left, everyone from the community basically just pretended he never really existed. Just crickets. Friggin creeped me out. But then this story broke and I was all “well daaaaauuuumn! Thank you Josh for preparing me earlier or I’d be devastated.” Because all I ever can think of when I hear his name is the song, music and lyrics, from “I’ll be Missing You”. So hearing this whole thing still makes my mind fragment worse than finding out about R-Kelly cuz at least his made sense, we alllllll heard about the pee incident, and about him dating Aaliyah, which on some level was creepy, but somehow we all made ourselves not think about it. Yeah, he made sense, but this one, it just makes my mind go “Hot day-um, he better get everything thrown at him for being a p.o.s.”

Josh, I just returned last year from 7 years in Vietnam teaching English. Your comments about being an expat billionaire there hit so hard. It’s absolutely common to see some big, old, slovenly unkempt man walking down the street hand in hand with his beautiful 18 year old girlfriend. This guy is there because no one would have him back home. They get by with all manner of misbehaviors, but people put up with it because their money fuels the local economy. Wow, was wild to hear you say it. Insightful in your brief time there.

Agreed, the men who want mail order brides typically resort to much younger ones from foreign countries since no women in their home countries would put up with their masochistic, controlling abusive ways. It's odd how even now, Asian women are all blanket generalized as being 'submissive, obedient, meek' when Asian women are the ones who rule the households, bank accounts, schedules, etc all while having full time/part time professions. Mail order brides are braver than these creeps think since they did just sacrifice their entire lives for the chance at improving their families' future in a country where they have zero safety net and maybe don't speak the language. I've met some who quickly learned English, got a college degree through night school, and then divorced their creepy much older husbands and took them to the cleaners. They made the best out of a crappy toxic situation and made their own futures. They're more cunning and brave than I am.

    • @KattReen

@@baronvonsatan Like with all disorders, people are still individuals, and not everyone with ASPD is dangerous or inherently evil. It is a type of neurodivergence with a strong genetic component, and growing up in a difficult or abusive environment can make it worse.
Key components of ASPD is being quite self-serving and not being quite capable of caring what other people think of you when it's of no substantial benefit to your life, so it's not that weird for someone with ASPD to "admit it out in public" on an anonymous account, since they likely won't be affected by anything a stranger has to say to them in a way a normal person might.
They might also enjoy the responses they get when they say outrageous things online, since they don't really have the capacity to comprehend or care about it being potentially harmful, annoying or disruptive in the way most other people do.
A fair amount of people with ASPD still manage to live a pretty normal life and function well enough within relationships thanks to putting in the work, and getting treatment and support. A lot of people with ASPD would indeed be a toxic component of your life, but ASPD is not Badperson Disorder, so there's also plenty of people with ASPD who genuinely care for the people important to them even if they struggle with affective empathy.

When you learn Diddy's origin story from childhood, you realize he's more than just a regular guy corrupted by money and power. Diddy is a textbook supervillain who was destined to cause pain and destruction. His father was a hitman and crime lord who was murdered after becoming a police informant. His mother was a prostitiute that sexually abused and groomed Diddy, literally training him to become her pimp and the father died. Diddy was a victim of the exact things he went on to do to others. Taking down Diddy is a healing moment for society as a whole.

He made choices and continued to choose the wrong thing, the bad thing, the easy thing that he wanted at that moment, leaving a wake of wreckage of people. He may have been molded to become what he is, but he chose to wreck people. He could've just wrecked himself. Or ... Or ... He could've chosen the opposite. He could've chosen to be and do better. He could've been a force for good in the world. But he failed.

Even at the beginning, Josh isn't necessarily telling punchlines he's just explaining to the Audience so they understand the entire set in case anyone is missing some info on Diddy, and even then he's still absolutely HILARIOUS. Just the way he speaks casually is funny, that's why he's such a good comedian, he's a natural talent.

Spot on! What makes Josh so fun to watch is how he explains things, whether someone needs the backstory or already knows what’s going on. He never sounds condescending, and even when he’s going over familiar stuff, he finds a way to keep it funny and fresh. He knows how to make everyone laugh, no matter how much they already know:)

@@Rainyrachreads I also really love how he will tell a totally unrelated story, tbats also hilarious, and then connect it back to his set topic.
It really just feels like a conversation, I'd love to see how Josh would pull off crowd interactions.

Not only did Josh Johson give me a crash course in entertainers who exist outside of my old white lady world; he gave me a quote I will use in my therapy groups with prisoners. Definitely using "feed your ego and starve your soul".

I truly find him funny. But quit protecting the Obamas are not innocent by no means. We need leadership in this country. Quit defending Kamala. I hear it in his comedy. Our country is in dire straits atm. She is not a Leader but a puppet. Trump is not perfect but he is not afraid to put the breaks on Wars, Border issues, Cartels, etc... Josh Johnson is not for being biased. Against Republicans. But I still am enjoying is comedy. It's America! That's what makes us Great! No disrespect. Just my opinion. We need more laughter. He brought out the issues we cannot ignore to save the innocent. Speak truths.
