I've been a sepultura fan for a long time. even though i still think the max era is the best i still got love for Derrick, the last five albums Dante XXI, A-Lex, kairos, mediator, and machine messiah is the best material they released with derrick.

With all the respect that Max deserves there are great songs during the Derrick Green era such as Sadistic Values (A-Lex), Hatred Aside (Agains), Convicted In Life (Dante XXI), Relentless (Kairos) Apes Of God (Roorback), Trauma Of War (The Mediator) just to name a few... I´ve recently listened to Machine Messiah and i should say that is an outstanding record, Sworn Oath is one of the new album's best tracks...
Glad to see Dead Embryonic Cells on the list. That was actually my "official" introduction to Sepultura. I remember hearing that slow, rhythmic section at 8:36 following that shred and I was hooked. The very next day I was out searching for all their other albums lol. ...and Roots Bloody Roots was a stroke of genius. As simple as that song my sound initially, you can't help but hear metal, latin, Funk, R&B, and Hip Hop influences in it. Not many people can accomplish that in one AWESOME track!

The 'New' Sepultura have been around for 20 years they have released countless albums with Derrick but none of the songs they made with Derrick made it to this list .. 20 years down the line and people still miss Max and Igor does that not say something? btw Andreas picked Derrick over Marc Grewe of Morgoth let that sink in.
This list is based in comercial success and influences to the metal scene. Not to dismise Derrick's work with Sepultura, it just that the works with Cavalera Bros was just so much influential. They plant the seeds of modern Thrash,Groove,Death and even Black Metal music(if you check the EP Bestial Devastation) And even they take later a Nu/Groove sound, they even made a innovation in that scene mixing it with Tribal Elements. They were the FIRST metal band that mix World Music with Metal, and that later influenced (acording to interviews) other bands such as Neurosis, Isis or Cult of Luna that do the same, and later created the hole Post/Sludge/Experimental Metal thing. Without a doubt I could said that Sepultura was one of the best and more influential Metal bands in the world

I think any song from "Schizophrenia" or "Bestial Devastation" is better than any "Roots" song. Inquisition symphony, from the past comes the storms, Necromancer, Anticop/Antichrist, to the wall, septic schizo...

The 'New' Sepultura have been around for 20 years they have released countless albums with Derrick but none of the songs they made with Derrick made it to this list .. 20 years down the line and people still miss Max and Igor does that not say something? btw Andreas picked Derrick over Marc Grewe of Morgoth let that sink in.
This list is based in comercial success and influences to the metal scene. Not to dismise Derrick's work with Sepultura, it just that the works with Cavalera Bros was just so much influential. They plant the seeds of modern Thrash,Groove,Death and even Black Metal music(if you check the EP Bestial Devastation) And even they take later a Nu/Groove sound, they even made a innovation in that scene mixing it with Tribal Elements. They were the FIRST metal band that mix World Music with Metal, and that later influenced (acording to interviews) other bands such as Neurosis, Isis or Cult of Luna that do the same, and later created the hole Post/Sludge/Experimental Metal thing. Without a doubt I could said that Sepultura was one of the best and more influential Metal bands in the world
Piyush Pawar and don't get me wrong. I like some works of Sepultura with Derrick, but I think people respect so much the Cavalera just because of the legacy to the Metal Community as I said.
