DESOLATION - WITHERED STUDIO PLAYTHROUGH

Hello everyone
This is a video of me tracking the new Desolation single "Withered" at Atrium Audio. We just released the song yesterday (2/2/24) and I'm so excited to have finally put it out. This is one of our best songs to date and we are working on a full length self titled album that we're going to be recording in the next few months.
This is by far the fastest and hardest song that we've written and I'm really grateful to my bandmates for pushing me to become a better drummer.
The video you are seeing is a full playthrough of the song "Withered". Footage was taken from 6 different takes and spliced together because the fills and stuff varied between takes and I wanted this playthrough to resemble the drums in the released version as much as possible.

During that last 1/4 time part or whatever it is, seriously, I’m honestly asking… how do you get your kick going so fast? It doesn’t look like your legs are moving as fast as the hits are coming, is it triggered? Are you doing doubles on each hit? You sounded phenomenal no matter how you accomplished it. I hope you can kind of explain it to me.

Thank you!! All the fast stuff I play is Heel toe double strokes which is why it looks like my legs are moving half the speed. And yeah I use triggers. If you want to see my foot technique I have other videos on my channel with foot cams. Cheers 🍻
