- So how easy is it to fit a Sena Bluetooth intercom to a retro styled helmet. Well, I try it with a Shoei J.O and Bell Bullitt helmet.
What did I think? Take a look.....
The on bike sound has been lifted straight from the gopro with no changes or enhancement.
Your videos are really informative and well presented. Thanks a lot for uploading those three videos about the Bell Bullitt.
No problem
Thats the best video Ive seen todate. Well done mate.
Thanks rowdyrodb, much appreciated
Very useful video. I have 4 Bell Bullitt helmets and plan to buy the 10s for each! Subscribed!
Thanks Jeffrey, glad you found it useful. 4 Bullitts! wowsers
I just bought the 10S last week...and the Cycle Gear where I do much of my purchasing actually installed it into my helmet right on the spot! I have now been on a couple of rides that were over 5 hours of riding, and it worked just fine! I even carried a 'backup battery' unit that I was able to drop into my shirt pocket and plug into the unit while riding, since I didn't remember to recharge it over night from the previous day's riding. I played music from an MP3 player the entire time I was riding, but was still able to receive 3 phone calls during the day! The people I was talking to could tell I was "on speaker phone" but had no idea I was on my Bike at 60 mph!
The microphones are quite good...and several people who wear "open-face' helmets have actually used the stick-on microphone and mounted it just under the padding along the edge of the helmet, either at the cheek or even at the top in the forehead area!
It still picks up well and gets it 'out of the wind'...
Excellent, that was good of the shop
What a superb review
Thank you
Very helpful video, thanks a lot!
Great video, really helpful! Thank You!
no problem
Very cool and helpful!
Glad to hear it!
Big thanks was wondering what unit would fit my Bell open face.
Thanks for the awesome vid!
no problem
thnx for review bro!
No worries, hoped in helped
I've really been struggling with purchasing this helmet - I want it but I saw a review somewhere (Revzilla maybe?) that said there's no room for speakers in the J-O. It seems as if it worked for you, though. Did you find it much tighter or more uncomfortable with the speakers installed? This is really my only hangup point for this helmet. Thanks!
Hi, no issues at all, there are recesses there
Views from the Man Cave Thanks for the fast response!
Anyone know if a sena would fit in a Nexx XG100R?
So Tony I could mount this Sena 10s on to my new Glamster since this is 4 other riders and one mile range it’s more capable than 5s.
Yep, no problem
hey i use a sena smh 10, one of the contact pin on device is kinda lose now (dropped my lid). now the audio on the right ear piece kinda distorts (as if a there is a wire problem) is it okay if i fix it with a glue gun? would it damage it more..
Mmmmm without seeing, it would be difficult to say. Try the Sena customer service team, they are normally pretty good.....
I like to wear ear plugs when I'm riding (to minimise wind noise), and I was wondering if the Sena speakers are loud enough to still hear an incoming call? I realise that clarity will be muffled with the ear plugs, but as long as I can actually hear sufficiently to hear the audio of an incoming call.
Yes I have no problems with it at all. I have a ported set of custom moulded plugs which I tend to use with the comms. I recently got a set of earplugs with built in monitors...absolute game changer as you can have the sena down on almost its lowest setting and hear it as clear as a bell
@@mancavemotoThat's awesome Mr Cave! I assume that the custom plugs will block helmet wind noise, but still pump through the signal it picks up from the Sena intercom, which would be the best of both worlds. By the way, does the Sena mic work well on an open face helmet without picking up too much wind blast? My helmet is open face, but with a hinged visor, so fairly good coverage over down to my chin.
@@Jonathan-L Yep thats correct I did a review of some a while back. Seems to work well and the mic cover blocks a lot of wind noise
What are these custom pulgs you mentioned? I wear earplugs and have an intercom in an old agv. They work fine, but if I could integrate the two....
I got the 10c's but I can't hear anything once I start riding a bit faster. Maybe time for a quieter helmet...
Thomas Perhaps! Have you tried a pair of 'vented' ear plugs. They are good at blocking out certain frequencies but still allowing you to hear others. They take the sting out of the helmet noise but I can still hear the Sena unit clearly
Views from the Man Cave Cheers I'll give those a go. Keep up the amazing videos. I love them!
Thanks for the vid.
Cheers
would you mind to test the Sena with a Shoei Glamster too?
It’ll fit, I can’t see any problems with that. I may do an quick video as a few people have asked, but it’s not a helmet I wanted to have comms on
Can I listen to XM thru my iPhone app with this 10s.
You can listen to any audio from your iPhone!
How did you record the sound?
The headset was connected directly to my gopro with a Sena GP10 Bluetooth back
What about CB connection?
10-4 Good Buddy, I have no idea,
lol...thanks anyway. I got it going. Thanks for responding.
why did you only do half of a review? you said nothing about the plugs on the front of the mount why????
Hardly 'half of a review' Kelly! There is only one plug on the front of the mount, and that's to enable the use or earbuds if you'd prefer them over the factory speakers. I didn't so just forgot to mention it
@@mancavemoto well imagine that ...........the ear buds was what I was looking for in a intercom...Thank you for adding that.
