Your review was the only one I could find using the intercom feature in action. Thanks!! Just bought two for my helmets. I was worried it wouldn't work with my buddy's SENA. Buy this people!
Brilliant review and very helpful, especially the answers to the loads of questions put forward. Thanks Shiney for your contribution and regards from Sunny Malta
Thank you for this review. Best one I have seen. I have watched a few and they say that its kind of quiet and the phone call voice quality is really bad but I dont intend to use it for talking on the phone. I need it for music and intercom.I ride a dirt bike with a full face helmet but NO visor. Do you think I would be able to hear this unit very well? Also, how did you record this audio? Do you know how many riders it supports? I wonder why they dont just make these with earbuds? Thanks again.
Hi mate, I believe it should be loud enough on the dirt bike :) (My brother in-law is using a BT-S2 while riding a cruiser that has no baffles in the exhaust. He said it's loud enough for him to hear so it should be loud enough on a dirt bike) As for the recording... it was done via the Sena 10c that the BT-S2 is paired with. The Sena 10c can record intercom connections along with video. Cheers Shiney
Thank you so much.. I have watched soo many review videos of different cheap BT Intercoms I cant remember which is which.. I read that one of the headsets has a connection problem because you have to unhook the headphones/mic in order to charge. This they say causes the connection to fail. Have you or do you foresee any problems with the plug? And its a weird plug right? Not a mini or micro USB,, something different right? Thanks again bud. Ahh, Dangit. I just realized its your friends unit.. I am sorry.
I saw this device featured on Yammie Noob's channel. I understand he has some sort of sponsorship but I've just ordered two of them. Hopefully my experience is as good as yours! I have a question though: Can I listen to music and talk to someone simultaneously?
G'day Mike, I'm sure you'll find them to be a good product (The one reviewed in this video is still working brilliantly) Unfortunately the unit only allows one operation at a time so it wont play music while you are talking to someone. I hope you have a great experience with your units and if you have any other questions please let me know and I'll do my best to answer them for you. Cheers Shiney
Thanks! Is it easy to switch between functions? ie. if my pillion were to tap me on the shoulder indicating she had something to say could I easily switch functions on the go?
It is very easy to switch functions to intercom from music, phone, GPS or whatever Bluetooth device you have connected. All it takes is the press of a button. Either rider or pillion can press the intercom button to start communication between the units when they want to talk. This connection will stay active until either rider or pillion disconnects the intercom by pressing the button again. To make it easier to operate while riding, mount the BT-S2 on the left side of your helmet. This will allow you to operate it's controls with your left hand while maintaining throttle control with your right hand. I hope this answers your question, if you have any other questions let me know :) Cheers Shiney
hey shiney. thanks for the review. I have a question about intercom connectivity. can we connect this unit to a Sena or Scala rider via intercom. in other words , is it an universal intercom? Cheers mate.
Yes and no. The unit doesn't have a universal pairing mode so it can only connect to other brands (like Sena) that have the universal pairing feature. I can say for certain that it will pair with a Sena headset as I have done this a number of times (it works brilliantly). As for the Scala Rider, I don't know if they have a universal pairing feature. But if they do it should be able to connect up fine. Cheers Shiney
To connect to a Sena 20s follow the steps below: 1. On the 20S, enter the Configuration Menu by holding down the Jog Dial for 12 seconds until you hear the voice prompt say "Configuration". 2. Rotate the Jog Dial clockwise or counter-clockwise until you hear the voice prompt "Universal Intercom". 3. Tap the Jog Dial to place the 20S into Universal Intercom Pairing mode. 4. On the BT-S2, perform the necessary actions to place the headset into Mobile Phone Pairing mode. 5. Wait for the devices to pair together. Hope this helps mate ☺
What kind of helmet are you using? An integral or a flip-up helmet? I got the HJC-IS Max II. Do you think it will go fine with the mount of the microphone?
Hi Sanny Njoo, The unit is on flip helmet (Shark Evoline 3). I had a look at the helmet you mentioned (HJC-IS Max II) and it looks like it will be fine 👍
The headsets are paired together by putting the Sena into Universal Intercom Pairing Mode then following the normal intercom pairing steps on the BT-S2 :)
wow awesome, I can't afford the Sena but might have to give this ago especially as it seems to be quite clear from the speakers point of view. I'm assuming you're voice is coming through the Sena's mic yeah?
Correct, my voice is from the Sena's mic (with an aftermarket lapel mic cover to restrict wind noise). The mic on the BT-S2 is using the standard cover that it comes with. Surprisingly I find it produces a clearer sound then a lot of other headset mics, even some of the expensive ones. So far the BT-S2 is amazing for the price, it could easily compare (or beat) other headsets in the $200 range. If you don't have the money for a Sena this is the one I'd recommend :) NOTE: If using an open face helmet, I suggest getting the lapel mic cover I was using on the Sena. It was AU $2.62 on eBay (link below if you decide to get one) www.ebay.com/itm/222107150085?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Only issue with these two being paired, the Sena rider has to start and stop the intercom session. I can find no way to start the intercom on the BT-S2. Also the BT-S2 does not support voice commands to my iPhone for making calls, or controlling other apps like Maps.

Hi Just Moe, Draco tells me that he has no issues hearing the music over the sound of the aftermarket exhausts on his Honda ST1300. He's exhausts are Delkevic 450mm Oval Carbon Fibre (Without Baffles). He just turns the volume up to max on his music player (phone) then uses the volume control on the BT-S2 to fine tune it to the level he wants.
Hey there, i bought these and i noticed the left side is slightly louder than the right, is it just the way it is setup for different frequencies left and right? Or do i have a defective unit? Thanks
Hi mate, the volume should be the same on both sides. However if the speakers aren't sitting in the same position against each of your ears you will have different levels of sound. So try moving them around a little bit and see if that fixes the issue. Let me know how you go. Cheers Shiney
Shiney I actually removed them and listened to both and left is different from right. I might have a defective 1 or maybe left is playing different frequencies from right?
That is strange, the one I used sounded the same on both sides. Do you have the same issue when playing the inbuilt radio? If you do it sounds like the headset is faulty. If it sounds fine it must be either a issue with the phone/music player or the connection between it and the headset. If you think it could be the connection, try connecting up a different phone or music player and see if the issue is still there. If you still have the same issue the headset is faulty. If you don't have the issue anymore the issue is with the phone or music player. I hope this helps mate. Let me know how you go. Cheers Shiney
Shiney yeah i will check it out. i'll try using a different source. i tried last night with my s6 edge and was watching some youtube videos. i'll try with another phone. i'll also check the wires or the contacts on the speakers. also, when i ride i usually wear earplugs, can i still hear it over the plugs? thanks
Sounds like you're all over it mate 👍 As for use with earplugs, I think it should be fine but I haven't tried it with earplugs myself. Please let me know how you go. Cheers Shiney
The audio is recorded via an option on the Sena 10c headset (that the BT-S2 is paired with) that allows recording of intercom connections. This means that I can record the voices of everyone that are connected via intercom on the video that the Sena 10c records.
To connect to a Sena SMH10 follow the steps below: 1. Make sure the firmware on the SMH10 is up to date. 2. Turn on the SMH10 and the BT-S2. 3. Press and hold the Jog Dial on the SMH10 for 8 seconds until the blue LED flashes rapidly. (A voice prompt will say “Universal intercom pairing”) 4. On the BT-S2, perform the necessary actions to place the headset into Mobile Phone Pairing mode. 5. Wait for the devices to pair together. I hope this helps :)

From what I read in the comments, I can't listen to music and talk at the same time, I have to switch back and forth. I'd like to share my music with my wife, is that possible? I'd like to have it all mixed together so I don't have to be switching back and forth.
Unfortunately it can only do one connection at a time (intercom or music) As for sharing music I'm not sure if it can or not (but I would be surprised if it can) For features like that you'll probably have to get one of the big name (more expensive) brands like Sena.
Finally someone tested this Chinese toy on the road with a interconnectivity testing.
gonna buy it now
I'm happy the video was able to help, I'm sure you'll be happy with it :)
How is it after long term use?
This was the most genuinely helpful review I've seen on this unit .

How are the 2 units? Still working? Nice and clear sound? Thanks
Finally a actual review of this being used. Thumbs up!
Thanks Patrick 😊
Great review nice to hear how it performs as an intercom
Thanks Tony ☺

How to pairing the BT-S2 to your Sena 10C?
This is probably a really obvious question but I have a Sena 10C as well, I should have no problem pairing the BT-S2 with it should I?
Hi mate,
You'll have no trouble connecting the two headsets together.
Just use the Sena's "Universal Pairing" ☺

Will its connect to a tom tom rider? For turn instructions?
01phantomx I see no reason for it not to.
The headset connects up to other Bluetooth navigation systems without an issue so it should be fine :)
hello, is it possible to use it with gopro for have voice on vidéo ?
Unfortunately I don't think so.
I believe you will need a separate microphone for the GoPro to pick up your voice.
Sounds good just want to talk to my passenger
how is the music audio quality on bt-s2?
It's surprisingly good for such a cheap headset :)
thank you, can you do a video with a microphone inside the helmet to hear the sound quality please?
Unfortunately I no longer have the headset (it has gone to my brother in law) but I'll see what I can do (it may be a while though)
Nice video and information.. subsback Mr shiney . thanks bro 👍
I just bought one off of EBay for $10.
MGTOW Sinister Kid 10 bucks where? What seller.
