I actually wound up ordering one of these after reading your site's review on it. Haven't steered me wrong yet.

+dustysquito Thanks, let me know how you like it. Did you click through one of our affiliates to buy it (I hope)? That helps keep the site running, it's the only source of revenue. Appreciate it!

I updated my 10S with v.1.3.1 but I had no luck getting the Sena to work reliably with my Android phone. A few months ago I upgraded my Samsung S5 to a S7 and with android nougat 7.0 now my Sena 10S doesn't work properly. The 10S is incompatible with Samsung S7 and Android 7.0. Sena makes the unit work when it is first released then as you update your phone it doesn't work anymore with bluetooth apps.

I would not recommend the Sena 10S or 10R. The seekers did not fit well in my helmet even though I did some removal of the foam inside. It was also to quiet even on a bike that blocks most of the wind noise. The connection is not good to the mount and the wind or closing the face shield will make it malfunction like you were pressing one of the buttons. I could also not get the intercom to work with any of my buddies that have Senas too.
It does connect to my iPhone well and even though taking calls sounds bad from the speakers, I have been told, I sound good on the highway.

The 10S should pair with any other Sena intercom and will pair with non-Sena intercoms using the "universal intercom" function.

I see no mention of waterproofness of the unit, in particular the "jog dial" assembly, which I know in the previous version was not waterproof, so I'm wondering if the new one is or not. Beyond that, I do not listen to music or anything while riding and have no intentions too, so my purpose in buying a com unit is strictly for communications. I tried out the SMH10 previously, and found that at actual highway speeds and the volume setting required to overcome the noise associated that the speakers became so distorted that they were useless to us. Does this new version actually work at highway speeds, or does it also distort terribly?

+Motorcycle Extremist Don't know about waterproof issues but the sound quality is addressed in the full review.

+webBikeWorld I did read the article before commenting here, but it was at least a bit vague. But by this "Wind and motorcycle noise usually overwhelms any helmet speaker system at higher road speeds.", should I assume it's essentially not functionally better at actual riding speeds for com use? Also, the previous model is known to stop working after getting too wet, but then start working again after being left to dry out, so apparently Sena thinks that's acceptable enough, I don't, but thanks for asking them. I've read through your portable amplifier and speaker reviews for use with com units, and I suppose it would be worth doing some experimenting with them on my own. As with action cams, I really am surprised that com units are not far better and more advanced than they are at this point in time.

+Motorcycle Extremist Difficult to say on the sound issue, on a touring bike with a big windscreen, no problem but on another bike with a shorter windscreen and a lot of turbulence, the wind noise can overwhelm the sound as the speeds increase. The latest crop of intercoms though from all manufacturers have much better sound quality and volume than previous generations. I actually talked to Sena about the waterproof issue yesterday, they claim they got very few complaints about this with previous intercoms. They said the problem on any intercom is where it connects to the helmet mount, not necessarily the module itself. I have not received any emails from previous Sena owners about a waterproof issue, nor have we experienced this in heavy use of previous Sena intercoms with jog dial, so not sure if this is a real issue or an "internet generated" issue. The Sena 10R doesn't have the jog dial and should be totally waterproof, so maybe that is a solution for users in rainy areas.

There are plenty of user reports on Sena's own forums of units malfunctioning and failing due to rain exposure,, and many reporting no issue as well, so it sounds like it's hit or miss. Not very confidence inspiring. I think I'll steer clear of the Sena units with the jog dial myself.

So, I solved the Problem with the INDIAN Ride Command. The current software of the 10s is version 1.3
I'm back to version 1.1.1 and everything works fine. I guess that's a general Problem with Sena-Headsets.
They make improvements for a brand and destroy the software for other brands.
With Sena 20s the same thing! Current Software 1.7 and 1.5 works.

This 10s have problems with the Indian Ride command. You can only make Phone calls with this Cr...p! No Firmware update, .... nothing! ... 400 Euros for this Piece of sh...t ! I testet out the Ride Command with a normal KEF BT-Headset and it works fine.
