Having all these vids unblocked is a bit like reliving their premiers again. To this date, I don’t think anyone has done a deeper dive on Led Zeppelin. Cheers to that walk with them STB 🍻 PS This is my favorite version of I Can’t Quit You Baby. Talk about dynamics!!
@@PeterTea I move permanently to beautiful Alicante,Spain....I don't work, get up when ever I want and live next to the Mediterranean Sea next to the Yatch Club and it's always sunny and lovely here...and gals are lovely here as well, how are you doing Peter?
You're Right , it was an auditorium. Interestingly Joan Baez was in the small crowd . She was there to hear their version of Babe , I'm gonna leave You. As you know she sang a version as well
Wayne, that Tele... 😮 Rare footage of Jimmy on the Telecaster.. I can't quit you footage .. Jimmy's B-Day . Sweater he is wearing .. His mom made it for him ..
Communication Breakdown is straight up Proto-punk. Most punk players would never admit it but Johnny Ramone himself said that he got the idea of his downstroke style from hearing this song.
During I can't quit you babe and Pagey switches pick-ups on his Les Paul and plays softly and quiet and then brings it back up with a thunderous solo it gives me chills every single time!
Someone said once on a reaction comment to Deep Purple's SUPERB (BBC TV 1970) performance of "Child in Time" that the crowd seemed like they had come for "SLEEP Purple" cos they were practically motionless! Then they said that back then, live audiences seeing taped performances were instructed to be silent, as THEIR sounds could affect the recording, cos back then u couldn't edit stuff out as easily. Maybe here, too?
This radio show was in March of (1969), about the time the first album was released in Europe. This album was released first in the USA, on January 12,1969. These kids had to be quiet, it was part of the rules for being there, I’m sure some were in shock & amazement too.
The first one was a 4-5 song set in Denmark Radio Studio by the end they were all into it. As for Royal Albert Hall-just phenomenal! A 2 hour major concert attended by John Lennon, Eric Clapton ,Jeff Beck and Jimmy’s mum! They had everyone on their feet within a few minutes & ended up doing 2 encores each around 15-30 mins. And just think…Bonzo was refusing to leave his job with Tim Rose..Jesus
It took me a long time to put my finger on what made Zep so good and I came to the exact same conclusion as yourself. Everything was based upon the foundation of Bonham and Jones. Jones was really a unsung hero so to speak he was masterful as was Bonham. Plant and Page were the showman and they were the masters of that area. What a band. I really can’t see it ever being bettered. Just a silly idea but wouldn’t have been great to have Janis Joplin as backing vocals. Just a thought.
Wayne this was fantastic! In the first video, the last time I can remember seeing zero reaction by a crowd to something earth shattering was when James buster Douglas knocked out Mike Tyson in Japan. Great commentary brother, I feel ya. On "I can't quit you baby" what a great back story how Willie Dixon wrote then inspired Otis Rush to step up his performance recording it for the first time. These Led Zeppelin reviews are excellent, looking forward to more. When I say excellent, that include many things including fun.
Thanks Royce. I'm still curious about why so many reactions are getting unblocked - especially my Zeppelin stuff. In fact, it looks like 2 more are now available. Have you had this experience with your channel?
@@SoulTrainBro No I haven't had this happen. I do know people that have received copyright strikes, but it takes 3 of them to shut down your channel. I have received numerous copyright claims but in most instances there is a message that says the owner allows people's to use their content.
Can't go wrong with Zep! I think that this version of "Communication Breakdown" is from their first live performance as Led Zeppelin. Actually, they may have still been billed as The New Yardbirds, I'm not sure. "How Many More Times" from this same show is killer!
They were only The New Yardbirds for a 6 gig tour of Scandinavia, Page being the sole member of the Yardbirds left. Page wanted to honor those contract obligations, so in a very short time rounded up these others to tour. They were done with that by late September, having had their very first rehearsal together on August 19,1968. They went to tour in the USA on December 26,1969, before their album even came out in January, as Led Zeppelin.
Robert in his wedding suit. The audience was told to be quiet they were recording. This was for the radio.
The few kids that were there must have been shocked at what they heard! And I bet you a lot of them probably turned into big fans!

Nobody comes even close to STB when he reacts to LZ because he gets it and his insights are just brilliant Peter
@@bnd4ever48 That’s for sure Bobby. Cool new name btw. When did you change it?
@@PeterTea I think I used the name in my email account so it popped up....never really paid attention to it 😂
Well, with your mug shot alongside Jimmy’s, your name sure does ring true. How are things in the big apple?

STB back, gotta love it man. Let’s get it!!!!
I sooo agree! They brought out the best in each other!! Bonzo is just a beast, John Paul Jones is magic backbone to their heavy sound!
Excellent analysis!

I have to listen to at least one song from the band everyday! Love it😃
Me too 😉

I don't think he was able to do that , he did have a channel switch. That was previously Joe Walsh's '59 Les Paul
I was referring to the second video on Soul Train Brother on this post matey...he is playing a Les Paul, he reacted to two videos on this post
@@bnd4ever48 > yeah , Sorry 😔
@@robertserafin-uc3qn No big deal...👍
STB, I think the term you're looking for is 'Light & Shade'.
Tadpole Friday! Great to see your work in the forefront again, @SoulTrainBro ! Peace. Ernie

It was a show in Scandinavia before they recorded their first album. There kids were so stoned and blown away.

Excellent reaction! Love this concert.
The roughness of that early years it’s unbeleaveable.
Plant still a young boy filled with rage.
The drums on the intro of the live I Can’t Quit You Baby is so good
I don't think those kids were ready for that.
That’s some shit and amazing too

Wayne, now you know what it’s like in heaven when Hendrix, King and Waters jam.
This song is awesome and great to slow dance to!!!!!!!❤❤❤

Plant & Janis were good friends.
Those were fire! Jonesy always in the background holding it all together.
Great to see you Margaret!
Any chance of reacting to Tom Macdonald videos, CASTLES would be a good one to start with, much love from the uK
Please please take a look at Stone The Crows and Rory Gallagher. I’m damn sure you’ll love it.

That's what worries me. A hammer might fall out of nowhere. Next thing you know, my channel's gone!
So much work goes into our channels. To lose it would be devastating. I worry about that also, Wayne.
Have you ever seen young Jimmy Page plays skiffle?
Yes. I have it on a reaction somewhere. I forgot which one.

That crowd is clueless on what they were lucky enough to witness. Prob somewhere in Germany and they prob don’t speak English.
That was in Denmark.
The rule was, they couldn’t make any noise, it was filmed, but it was being broadcast on the radio.
