FULL DISCLOSURE: I did receive a free game copy of Mass Effect Legendary Edition for PC. I did NOT receive any payment for making this video, and just like normal, BioWare has no idea I was going to make this thing anyway. Hope this video helps someone out there.

I always admired Mass Effect for only allowing you to play as a human and yet simultaneously not allowing you to create anything remotely resembling a human in the character creator
Not being able to play as an Asari OR Quarian has always been my biggest complaint that I've always given to Bioware...ME would've been the perfect rpg otherwise
I was able to make one pretty easily. With these CCs less is more, the less of the deeper stuff you touch the better
If you're trying to make a decent female, try my code. The hairstyle and make up etc might not be to your taste but the groundwork is there. The facial features look great.
7J3.QEI.K71.W8E.FSS.61T.1HF.113.UE6.K43.F3A.LKG
I’ve loved how all of my ME1 and 2 femsheps looked. ME3 is a different story.
@Ally mods make everything better, but obviously if you don't have the PC version your stuck with the presets they give you on console. that's Bioware for you though lol, they've always been like that, even going back as far as Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic on original Xbox and PC. except the difference then was you pick a character that is already created for you, but when Mass Effect first came around that was the first game they made you can create a character of your own. the problem is Bioware never improved upon character creation even by Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age suffers from the same problem. for some reason they just could never get it right.
Honestly I'm just looking forward to finally being able to drag-and-drop powers onto my hotbar in ME2 without the game crashing on PC 😂
My personal Shep's code (I THINK): 7H1.A6I.G64.T8Q.HAN.1GR.D5D.771.MA6.8RG.F49.FXF
Thank you all for watching, I hope this video was helpful :)
Hey! Thanks for the video. Is this code the one that is shown on 1:46 in the video? If it's not, do you happen to have that one flying around? ;)
I'm about to use a Samuel l Jackson code for this trilogy run lol
She looks beautiful! A lot like Jack with nice hair too :D
@@kuhnen Yup! That's for the one at that timestamp
Ohhh this is beautiful thanks a ton, I got to play it early! Thanks a ton!
once again Ashe is summoned like an eldritch entity
don't give me ideas, one day I might just become a vtuber of an eldritch entity escaping the abyss 😂😂😂
Omg you should totally do it!!
Honestly, not being a professional voice actor with that voice and narration skills, falls under some sort of international war crime.
Much love from the modding community ❤
You give me way too much credit, and much love to you as well!!
Can't wait for my copy to arrive tomorrow! Great hearing your voice, Ashe.
Yay, hope you enjoy it!
@@Ladyinsanity I'm planning my first Shepard to be Spacer/Sole Survivor & a Soldier who is mostly Paragon with a bit of Renegade mixed in. Oh, & I'm romancing my favorite Ashley. Can't wait!🔥❤
long time patreon supporter. happy to see another video from you. thank you for the updates.
Appreciate you 🙏🙏🙏
I’m definitely starting over from the beginning. Also I usually go with the default character creation.
One of the things I love about Mass Effect is the 'create your own Shepard' option. I basically make my Shepard to look like me and I get to feel like I'm playing the hero in this entire trilogy. I remember taking a whole hour or more just to get my Shepard's face to look just right. And I'll do it again with MELE. : )
Shepard is probably the best hybrid self insert protagonist ever. There's enough of Shepard there to make them feel established and real in the universe instead of a generic bland silent hero. But the customization options and dialogue let you truly you feel like you can do whatever you want with them creatively.
Took me 3 mins to realise the MELE you were pronouncing wasnt 'melee' , nice info thanks 👍
I’m here and I brought popcorn
I have only played 90% of ME2 and am soooo looking forward to getting the opportunity to make my male Shep look closer to how I wanted him to look when I played that game. The larger choice of customization will be great to play with, and I'll get to play the first and third games for the first time!
Hurray! So jazzed. Thanks for the vid! AND...then I'll be spending ANOTHER hour or three designing a new Shep. And then another. And another...will I ever finish Eden Prime? I hope so!
The old saves work perfectly fine, even some old tweaks that we could make for the Original trilogies saves are also compatible... I imported a save game from the Original ME2 and it worked just perfectly there was a little issue with skin tone and hair color but I was able to tweak that using the original face code of my character 😀😄😎
That's really cool they added the Genesis Comics in there as a story feature!
Welcome back!
That Genesis comic thing was brilliant!
I could never make a male Shepherd that looked good. Mine just always came out goofy, so I usually just stuck with the original.
Same, then again they set a high bar modelling him after a supermodel
That's because the character creator in Mass Effect is on of the worst ever made. While a handful of main characters faces are modeled after RL people, most of the games NPCs look like weird comic book characters. Same goes for Shepherd if you try to create him/her yourself.
Same, you should see my Shepherds nose 🤥
@@maltehenryk1409 while you can quite make a white male Shepherd to match default Shephard, you can however make a pretty good looking black male Shepherd, as long as you don't turn the skin thing too dark. because then it looks pretty bad in game, but if you put the skin slider about right in the middle maybe a little before, that's the best look I've come up with as far as making a Male Shepherd without mods.
Yes! Thank you for making this! I was so curious! Glad you're back!
Question! Is there anyway to get access to your OLD face codes? Or have the been lost to the sands of time? My old as Shepard must LIVE AGAIN!
Yep, use save editor
@Alex Sonne This kind of puts me off from buying it. Am I supposed to throw away hundreds of hours worth of gameplay because Bioware can't even make an option to import your face from an older savegame?
@@Oacceptabelt the original mass effect came out 14 years ago, why were you even expecting that to be an option
The old saves work just fine for ME2 and ME3... haven't played around with ME1 yet... played both ME1 and 2 with mods like ALOT, ALOV and MEUITM2 during the last couple of months so started MELE from 3... will go back to ME1 once I finish ME3 first...
@Li Stathis Never used the word "simple". The fact that a few dedicated individuals without any support from Bioware were able to fix the save game imports between the old titles including gameplay choices (broken between ME1 & ME2) and facial code (broken in ME3) tells me that Bioware shouldn't have any trouble with it, but I suppose they were too busy with "dialing down the butt shots" instead of fixing core game functionality.
Your shepherd looks beautiful!
I got MELE preloading on Steam as I watch this, and I'm so hyped to run through the Trilogy again with better graphics and more unified UI & UX without having to mod the heck out of the games! :D
Im actually excited for more customisation options i have a really good fem Shep model already but definitely gonna spend a good while playing around maybe now i can finally make the perfect Chinese fem Shep badass ive always needed😂
I just want to see Shephard as more than a black blob if pixels
Ilos and novaria, I feel your pain
They should have given us the ability to customize the default Shepard with different hairstyles and beards etc..
Yeah, i always hated that you can't modify the default shepard looks, only presets....
Agreed. I actually like the FemShep's face from ME3, but I would've loved to tweak it a bit with a different hairstyle/color/ etc. Oh well. : /
I always go with the default looks because I can’t create a good-looking Shep, they always look ugly as shit when I make them so I just stick with the default ones. Plus, the default ones look good, especially FemShep with her red hair and her FUCKING green eyes which nearly glow in the dark in ME3 !
Man I bought this game so fast lmao. So much content for your monies.
Best game series ever
1:47 this is a nice looking character!
Your femshep looks amazing!
Thank you!!
Well done put code out I really love it seems your only that dont it for new game that out only know I'm talking mass affect legendary edition 👍😉
They just don't make em like they used to. By far my most anticipated release of this year
Thanks for the great video. Can you talk a bit about the two different XP scaling options-- Legendary and Classic-- and how they affect gameplay? And how do they affect ME2 and ME3?
Here's how they explain it: "In classic mode, the original 1-60 level range will be used instead of the new 1-30 level range. XP and talent point progression remains the same, but the number of levels is doubled." ME2 and ME3 don't have this mode though
I was like "wth is mele" then it clicked
Can we start a petition to restore the ME3 multiplayer?
ew.
Your videos are seriously the best! I was wondering if face codes would work or id have to start from scratch. I am fine with tweaking my original face code to figure out the new options available for my main male shep. Thanks always for the informative videos.
Yup just like I mentioned in the vid, it will need tweaking cause the original code will only preserve like the face morph details but not the eye color and stuff
@@Ladyinsanity that’s perfectly fine with me as long as it isn’t a complete departure I’m fine with tweaking with the new options thanks for further clarification
Anyone know if the character creator has gold eyes and what the code for that is?
I always liked the me1 & 2 character creators. My me3 Shepard looked soooo bad.. So I was super worried when they went with the me3 design but the lighting looks way better. Me3 has such harsh cold lighting.
I can’t wait to play tonight!
Have fun!
Do the facial scars from ME1 also appear in ME2+3? Haven't seen anything on that yet
Shoot I thought I showed it off in the video. mShep has 12 scar options and femShep has 10. I believe the options were consolidated across all the 3 games
This was a code for Arnold Schwarzenegger on the me 2 me 3 games:
551.WJH.CKF.A3A.FLV.85W.W1K.2WV.6K1.8L2.143.5
The new options may make it not work though. If you want to check it i can put the pics taken with the phone on imgur.
It was funny to play as Arnie Shepard in 3 ^^
I have no codes to share, as I was using a save editor to make my ME1 and 2 FemShep look as much like the ME3 Default FemShep as posable. Given that I don't even remember what that editor was even called anymore, it is just as well that Default FemShep is now playable across all three games.
Gibbed, for ME2 & 3, classic.
The ‘Trilogy Save Game Editor’ works for the Legendary version save game files, which gives you the same options as Gibbed did.
Lazarus won’t work with the new save game files, however. But you can still use it for reference if you want to know which vertex points you’ll need to edit, for say, to give your FemShep the default hair or adjust the eye lashes or whatever.
You can’t import Gibbed files or headmorphs into the Trilogy editor though. But you can drop your old save game files into the Legendary save game directory for either ME2L or ME3L, load that save file in game, then make a new save which you can then edit with the Trilogy editor. It worked for me with ME3L anyway. I’ll have to re-edit her forehead though...
A point to note though, is that the character creator only imports the code, not any out of game modifications. So you’ll still need to import the headmorph into your first save and make a backup copy of it so you don’t have to go back through the modifications you made for subsequent playthroughs.
whats the over/under of having to restart the game cause the person i make in CC looks NOTHING like how they look through 80% of the rest of the game?
yes yes yes !
Dayum! Woman Shepard is smokin now!
So a good starting point is to input my old face code and then tweak it if it looks off?
I keep staring at the countdown for game unlocking on my ps4 😂
What I would reeeeeeeeeally like to know, is can we have multiple playthroughs on the go at the same time like we could in the originals?
As in, can I play a Vanguard Femshep in one playthrough until about half way through ME1, save my progress, go back to the home screen and start a playthrough with an Infiltrator BroShep? And then all I have to do if I want to switch between the two is press load and select a different character?
Is that possible in these games? Or can I only do one playthrough at a time?
Oh definitely! You can have multiple playthroughs under one game, that's no problem. I have a femshep and mshep in ME2 and can just boot up either whenever
@@Ladyinsanity Oh thank you so much! That was the ONE thing I was starting to worry about, hahaha
Oof, it's been YEARS, but I forgot how fugly a lot of the face shapes were... I thought they'd have better/more options for this version, but doesn't look like it.
Does Character class port when you move a character game to game? As in.. is it locked in like background is, or can you change up the Class between games?
I know that gives you that option if you choose to customize your import Shepard form ME1L to ME2L at least.
Well... Despite all the controversy around MELE, I certainly interested to see what will be it's final results. 😊🤔
Sincerely: A silent watcher.
P.S: I just watched your old Citadel Dlc videos. Even you played Renegade, I was glad about you didn't killed Wrex. 😊
In the legendary edition, once I finish ME1 and I import my shep to ME2, can I make some changes to their appearance?
In case you’re still wondering, yes. Just choose to customize your Shepard’s appearance.
I'll try to make my own Shepard this time around, but it's hard to play something different to the default Shepards, they are too iconic.
The Default Shepards are used for marketing purposes. Most people actually prefer to create their own Shepard.
and let me guess you are white aren't you?
Ok, it does Great on the face but what about the body? Will we be able to make FemShep abit Muscular?
Anyone on Xbox notice that the legendary edition only lets you port over 1 important decision or am I just bugging?
I wonder how close i can get to Overwatch's Ash in femshep
Wait does the legendary edition have a different looking character creator for each game?
Can you make a longer video just showing off the femshep you made? I would love to see some more but can't play myself until friday evening.
do they have any mods for character creation? on xbox one
Your voice would make a good Fem Shep.
I didn't see that it releases at 11pm....I've been at work all day getting excited.... Kill me
Haha enjoy!
Will u b doing videos on making goodlooking male n female Shepard
For the algorithm!
Unified character creator? Does this mean that any scars I give my Shep in ME1 will still actually be there when I load up ME2 or 3?
Yes
Can I use the default femshep as a template and just do little tweaks like change the hair as shit?
The game doesn't have default femshep as a preset, so unfortunately I think the only way is to wait for modders to plop that in
I wish we could frequently change our shepherds hair I just love customizing my character in any game
Black emporium dlc pls XD
You can do that through the save game editor. I gave my custom FemShep the default hair in both ME2 & ME3 Lefendary versions.
I would love a tutorial on how to make the Shepard from the thumbnail and @1:47
Can you use a face code on consoles?
It still needs more options in both hair, beard, eye color, skin tone, lips, etc.......Don't get me wrong, it's a good start & much better than the original but, could be better is all I'm saying.
Is the genesis comic something that comes with MELE? I played the original on ps.
Yes, almost all of the DLC that has ever been part of the Mass Effect trilogy is included in MELE
Ashe! Its been a minute since you've posted, I hope you're doing well!
Thank you, I've been alright! Busy times ahead. And you too!
What do you think of this game SO far
I couldn't customize my Shepard by making a new career at the beginning of the game on pc as long as I named my character John Shepard... is this a known bug or not? I have the old mass effect 2 on my machine but not installed. It's not a big deal, the basic character is cool but it's not a big deal.
Is it possible to import original ME1 saves into MELE?
3:07
Do u have to beat the game to import ur character to the next game
Ah yes, "the Algorithm" a program that is the life and death of millions of UA-cam careers. We have dismissed that claim.
I'm happy how much better the graphics are but I was a little disappointed that default FemShep's hair still can't be used. I also feel like it's much harder to make a good looking Shep in the second one, mine went from looking good in the first to awful
As a PC player, just how easy is it to import my ME1 play into ME2 and then into ME3 as I play through. I had the hardest time and rarely ever worked before. I always had to use the genesis comic, but I don't want to do that. When I start up ME2 with ME:LE, will it be very easy to just choose my ME1 playthrough?
If you start from the beginning, because the filesystem is under one game, after finishing ME1 you can just choose "Import ME1 Character" in ME2. They streamlined it
@@Ladyinsanity WOOT!
This is the fav Shep ive ever made myself:
8E1.97A.H94.C15.9EL.D2W.MJG.88A.LL3.J5B.699.1XG
I know you advise it but I will stay away from the comics as I like my Shepard to import her whole history unless they changed it the comics don’t do that so I will just start new Shepard’s in 1 and play them through all 3 games hope this gives the old mass effect facecode database site a push again got so many great looking Shepard’s from there would be good if it got new codes
Could you share how well the scaling is on PC if you play on PC. Thank you.
I've played it on 21:9 with a RTX 3090 (old motherboard though) and haven't encountered any issues at all. I know it looks pretty fine on a 1080, too
@@Ladyinsanity Thank you so much for the info. Much appreciated.
What I'd your character code in this video?
I believeeeeeee it is this one: 7H1.A6I.G64.T8Q.HAN.1GR.D5D.771.MA6.8RG.F49.FXF
@@Ladyinsanity thank you 😊 I really liked you're character!
Hi Lady, great video it's amazing. Have you ever thing what make other femshp by race? Can you make Japanese, Iranian, Russian, Thai, Indonesian, France, Hawaiian, and Switzerland femshep in your next video?
No more over-the-top make-up for default Femshep, now I'll be definitely using the default model (even though the customisation has also generally improved)!
I was completely overwhelmed by the creation. Do I go with the base character choice, or choose my own? Which is canon? Does it really matter what class I choose and which is best? Are you locked out from other abilities?
Canon is whatever you want it to be ^^ Create your own character that's geared to what you want, you can't go wrong with any of them
Thank you. I loaded the game up earlier and thought… “Nope. Not ready to get into it right now.” I’m looking forward to it all soon though. Thinking about Sentinel class from what I’ve read.
I really hope a Modder add the female Shepard Head to Ashley. It looks a bit like Leliana vom Dragon Age Origins and i like it...
The original default Femshep looks so much better in LE..... is it Tomorrow yet?
1:47 That's a really good looking femshep you made, kudos. Mind sharing the code?
I second this request. she looks Hot, please share the code. Never mind, written a few comments below
7H1.A6I.G64.T8Q.HAN.1GR.D5D.771.MA6.8RG.F49.FXF
I really wish they added better customization options for a custom male shep because it's still atrocious.
What's your Shep's face code? You did a great job lol
Thanks! I believe it's this one 7H1.A6I.G64.T8Q.HAN.1GR.D5D.771.MA6.8RG.F49.FXF
*Andromeda flashbacks*
Well.....when the developers destroy ME1 with that stupid bug with the Mako on Ilos, then for sure I am forced to try something new when I start ME2
Hve they finally got the hang of blonde hair?
Yay more skin tones and makeup choices. Boo still not a lot of hairstyles and likely being incompatible with current hairstyle and clothing mods. Why didn't they just go out and try to buy modder content and add it to the game? I would probably buy the darn thing if it had more hair and clothing options and a lot of EGM's content.
A lot of the modded hairstyles do not belong to the modders, they're ports of like Sims CC creators and other third-party sources. Licensing issues involved in that would be a rabbithole nobody on Earth wants to go down.
That said, yes, Bioware games suffer from some of the worst hair choices in the history of video games so I really wish they could have at least taken inspiration from the mods to create a few new ones.
My face is tired!
How can you thumbs down this video, the world full of haters
...and now tospend at least 2 hours in character creation🤣
I honestly wished they updated the character creation to be more like Andromeda, which looks a lot more realistic.
????? melee? what is it your saying?
M.E.L.E = Mass Effect Legendary Edition
All this time and the custom characters still look like cartoony messes lol
They removed hair styles... No more pony tails from the original ME1
