The Mass Effect series was unexpectedly good and emotional for me. Loved that decisions actually affect the story and dialogue. You actually felt attached to the characters, and the world environments itself felt like you really were traveling to different planets.

It also has *a lot* of sarcastic humor if the player chooses to become a _renegade_ person. I highly recommend to play the series as a female renegade person, because the voice acting of Jennifer Hale for _Cmdr Shepard_ is outstanding and can be enjoyed most as a renegade.

Cyberpunks side missions just hit fucking hard, the storytelling is just so believable. When it goes dark, it is really the stuff that stays with you for a long time (peralez family easily having most bleak and disturbing fates)...Top notch writing. The farm side quest... Man, that could have been a GREAT game on its own. And Panam is just a character like no other. Likeable, empathic, strong, not afraid to be weak, cocky, intelligent and silly alltogether. With all this "but man have to be presented that way, woman to be presented that way", just give us good and fun characters. On a side-note the expansion Phantom Liberty will release in September on PC and next-gen only and I really do hope that a lot of things they wanted to be in the game was cut out simply because last gen couldn´t handle it (better NPC AI for example).

After you finish the "1st playthrough" just start again and then you'll see why it's a masterpiece. I'm confident you'll find the journey emotional and deeply satisfying.

Cyberpunk had me from the beginning. A few weeks before launch I had just ended a 3 year relationship and moved back from atlanta to my shitty crime-ridden neighborhood states away. It was so surreal hearing somebody ask V “how was atlanta” and him giving a vague non-answer. It was exactly what I’d been doing in my days before launch reconnecting with friends. That game hit me hard fr.

My top game series of all time is Mass Effect Legendary, and ME1 is the genesis of it all. I have never been so involved in a game, story or experience. The characters are rich, the story is deep and affecting, and the choices are - sometimes heartbreakingly - impactful. Incredible voice acting and music as well. One of the best, if not THE best. When I finished ME 3 I was gutted. Then I went back and played through the Citadel DLC again (more than once) and did the final battle again. And was even more gutted. I can’t even hear the ME1 opening theme - or the ME3 final music - without tears welling up.

Cyberpunk is an absolute dogshit of a game, and yes I have finished the game. It’s not bad bcoz the story and characters are bad, they are pretty good. It’s bad bcoz it fails miserably exactly at one thing it is trying to be, an open world crime simulation like gta or rdr. Npc’s are totally braindead and lifeless, decision making has no consequences whatsoever and is basically just a linear progression, you’ll never come across something that you’re not expecting or looking for, basically feels like clearing points off of a map, half your time goes by sorting your inventory, and cops don’t even work. Visuals and story are nice, but it’s the least immersive open world of all time, and that’s what they were trying to sell this on

@@wander_plug1369 exactly. It’s trying to be something it should have never tried to be. Cyberpunk would have been amazing if it was a story/character focused RPG in a smaller, more detailed world with somewhat controlled environments. That’s actually where the game shines. The very first mission with Jackie where you rescue the chick from the bathtub is one of the coolest in the game and it’s heavily set up and scripted. It actually made me feel like I was in a Blade Runner movie. There’s a lot of moments like that but the immersion is broken as soon as you step onto the streets of Night City and see that it’s just a giant empty shell with a beautiful veneer full of copy and pasted NPCs. It was so amazing, this little world in the palm of my hand. it's the little things in cyberpunk that made me love the game so much, like for instanxe when you gst a phone call in the game, my immediate instinct is to drop everything and walk around just looking at the surroundings night city has to offer, as i would in real life, where id just be walking around my block while on the phone w my friend. i can go on and on about how it captures the beauty and the different style of loneliness that is a characteristic feature of living in a large city. i would also add new vegas to this list as it is by far the only game that gives you so much freedom and your choices have severe consequences. while most games let you get away with morally questionable decisions, new vegas comes back at you letting you face the repercussions of your choice.

Cyberpunk really fascinated and captivated me in a way very few games have, by its storytelling, its atmosphere, both visual and audial. The amount of detail into these things really immerses you into the universe of Cyberpunk, if you give it a chance.
I have heard that many people had a sore spot because of launch, but that seems to be mostly forgiven now with 1.6, the edgerunners anime, and the promises of 1.7.
I'm forever grateful to CDPR for making this game and opening my mind to the universe Mike Pondsmith created.
I've been using Cyberpunks countless hours of music from the soundtrack to the game, for road trips now too :)

It was truly one of the best games ever. I think because I grew up playing NES, I don't put the expectations on games alot of people do...when I was a kid I had this friend who claimed he had these games that didn't exist. He'd just make shit up..but I think about that now, because alot of the shit he talked about are the games we play now. But back the games were simpler, and your imagination could fill in what was lacking. These kids now are growing up with some of the best games ever made, and don't play them because a few bugs...that's insane to me. So people say they can't play cyberpunk,it's too buggy...or something stupid...and I'm like so what if it has bugs, the game is fuckin epic..it blows my mind really..but they'll play crap like call of duty all day.

Different in many ways, but excellent in a lot of similar ways: non-linear storytelling (that works!) in a very open, free-to-explore environment. Scary and intense without needing cheap jump scares. Drama created by good systems instead of scripted scenes (lots of opportunities where something dramatic and exciting will *probably* happen because of the way the environment and systems work).

I played it on my second play through with mods and better graphic sliders it really made me appreciate the 1st one more, thrown into a universe for you to explore while being a type of master chief badass hero saving the galaxy and making decisions, friendships, story sets a foundation for the other two games and overall a really fun game. I played ME2 first in my cousins a lot when it came out and didn’t get to play ME1 until many years later when I bought the trilogy for PS3. I didn’t have an Xbox and ME1 was Xbox exclusive at the time, I think me and my cousin tried to play it before he showed me ME2 but his disc didn’t work anymore and we only got through the opening before it crashed.
Blew my mind, easily became my favourite of the series. Have replayed it many times. When I bought the trilogy it had been a long time since I played ME2 and had only touched the demo for ME3, so it was almost like going into something new but had that hint of nostalgia? Whenever I replay it I tell myself that I’m going to just fly through the big missions and the odd side mission but always end up practically doing every little thing, I enjoy getting call backs to these things in later games. I enjoyed the elevator chats, I truly fell in love with the characters, I fell so deeply into the Mass Effect rabbit hole.

Your channel got recommended to me some few weeks ago and I'm really happy it did. I must say you've got a great taste in video games! One I can relate to for most of the games, which is really rare. Keep it up man!
Seeing that you apparently like exploration a lot im video games, you should definitely give Outer Wilds (not to confuse with Outer Worlds) a shot. One of the best exploration games and stories I've seen in any medium.

I'm completely shocked you didn't put NieR:Automata on this list. I get that it's niche, but a game like that is typically the very reason someone would even THINK of making a video or list like this.
It's like, THE quintessential "once in a lifetime" game.
Extra shocked this was recommended to me, without it having Automata in the video. Usually this stuff only pops up for me when NieR related

Nothing that sells five million copies is niche

      @@MILDMONSTER1234 it's appeal is niche.
Not everyone wants to play a game that makes them depressed and sad. People aren't used to games that genuinely hurt them and aren't happy or designed to be fun for the sake of fun.
It's the emotional pain and philosophical ideas and themes combined with the unorthodox method of storytelling and gameplay/genre variety that makes it niche.
Combine that with the fact that the majority of lore for the games are all outside of the actual games themselves and you've got a story that isn't for everyone due to both its inherent complexity, as well as the complexity of piecing it all together.

Just finished another marathon of the Mass Effect trilogy: legendary edition. About to start another Cyberpunk 2077 good time. I’d recommend anyone to play them both. Not to mention HALO. The Sci-Fi trinity for me.

I truly hope bioware makes a comeback. Mass effect holds such a dear place in my heart and I have so many great memories playing it and I really hope mass effect 5 breathes new life into bioware and this series.
