My thoughts exactly. I'm not saying the driver in this case is 100% at fault, more like 50/50, but it really should be routine to look both directions when pulling out.
I was curious about this, it seemed like it would be the law that you can only ride in the correct direction. But I thought I better check. Isn’t parallel parking one of the requirements to getting your P’s?
Not since the log book system was introduced.
It was part of the log book back when I did it, that was almost 20 years ago though. Problem is all the foreigners 'teaching' and passing other foreigners who have no business driving
it is, and i did a great parallel park on my test and on my L's, but sometimes i have off days. and sometimes when you miscalculate the start of the park, it ruins the whole thing. usually i restart and try again, if i still can't do it, i know it ain't happening and i drive away in shame lol, so i understand that persons struggle😭
How many fully licenced drivers who consider themselves safe drivers do you reckon could still reliably do it?
i'd say it's a bare minimum of showing a person can drive a vehicle. Standards have dropped dramatically
I love how fast you putting together these and big up to those who submitted their dashcam
3:37 - Evidence shows that no, he couldn't do it, even when putting his back into it.
14:03 - The audacity to flash the cammer when YOU'RE heading the wrong way is mind-blowing.
27:41 - Having experienced that once in my life (and once was more than enough!), I _felt_ that sigh. "Lucky" for me, though, my tire tucked in nicely between the fender and control arm. Twisted the heck out of the fender, but at least I didn't have to go chase it down.
I can forgive a thousand mistakes without anger, but deliberate stupidity of any sort tends to get mu=y gander.

14:10 Possibly a reason why he didn't reverse: Red light cameras don't detect 0 km/h vehicles, they only detect vehicles in motion. I'm not condoning this, as normally anyone would reverse back. Just saying that is a possibility.
Another possibility is he can't see directly behind him, thus he's stuck, if he reverses he could reverse in a hidden car or person.
Very generous of you and I guess it could be. Van still turned left against the red light though.

Hey dashcam community, you need to have the audio on. we need the "WTF?" and the " Is this c-word serious" "the F-U ahole" and all those verbals that make it great.
Audio also can help provide additional information for insurance assessment if something happens out of view. Remember, you can cut out the embarrassing singing before submitting to DCOA, but you can't add back in the missing indicator sounds to show the insurance company you had the indicator on at the roundabout.
Some of the clips get muted because of the music playing on the radio being copyrighted
And aim the camera at the goddamn road, not the sky or the dash.
@@-Mr-Frost- its a shame that they have to go through every clip and mute any that have the slightest hint of claimable material, but if they dont some 8th party that has a right to someone who has a remix of a remix of a remix of a remix of a remix of a remix of a cover of a remix of some well known song will strike it and start hoovering up any revenue DCOA may otherwise make from the video
@tin2001 thank you for this, i never thought about it from perspective, i have my audio off because i dont want anyone to have to hear my trashy taste in music, i might have to turn it back on in that case.
Love the audio commentary on most of these. Having watched a fair amount of the British ones, the difference is quite astounding. A lot of the British ones end with threats of violence. Very rare here, just lots of swearing, which is fine and a natural response to stress. Makes me proud to be Australian🇦🇺
@ 17:56. Love these videos of people assuming they can make a U Turn virtually anywhere and without consideration to those behind them. The righteousness is unreal.

You mean the one where the bus decided late in the game that it was in the wrong lane and needed to merge and exit, and just expected everyone else to part like the Red Sea? Not good from either of them. Bus driver needs to plan more than 50m in front of him (something, something, professional driver). DC needs more awareness, but for me it's on the bus.

23:04 Don't get me wrong, the driver's lack of skill is bad but they were probably panicking a bit when they were letting off the brake and the car was rolling forward despite being in reverse.
