Thank you for sharing you trip down to Mexico 🇲🇽 City. Yes, I have always loved the international trips because of the one leg flight to that particular city and one leg back home. The Marriott Hotel in downtown Mexico City has always been nice to my crew and other airlines crew's coming to there.

I'm here for the vlogs!
Bleeds off take offs bring back memories. When I flew B737-200 based in UK we did a lot of those down route (and sometimes from UK) to get that bit of extra thrust to increase the take off weight when as we were often stretching the range especially to Canaries so we wanted to get on as much gas as we could.
Worth mentioning Mexico City airport is about 7,000 ft altitude hence given higher temps too the need to go bleeds off. All part of a day’s work%!
As a retired airline pilot in UK I enjoy watching your videos.
I got to operate to MEX once when flying long haul in the 1970s on a special charter from Gander Newfoundland.
They say you can’t bank sleep but on night flights I always found getting an hour of two sleep in the afternoon helped.

Keep up the good work G, you are correct not to draw unnecessary attention to yourself on the tube. Idk if you wear a jacket to protect your pilot shirt, but I would highly recommend it. Idk how many times I’ve been chillin’ to look and see that I’ve ruined a shirt from sitting close to something that was dirty.

I found this so interesting - always wondered what goes on behind the scenes when we fly. I tend to look at the routings on flightradar for a couple days leading up to my flight to check out the routing and decide which side of the plane is best to sit on. What are some of you guy's favourite approach? Panama city, Panama sitting in an A seat (left hand side of the aircraft) for sure is one of mine.

If you have more than a day before you have to return (probably not possible), you could take a trip out to see the pyramids outside of Mexico City. There's also the Floating Gardens (not sure how to spell the name in Spanish). For nightlife, there's the Zona Rosa.

Hey G. I'm behind in watching your vids but NYC Subway is surely an adventure but old school. To JFK, take the new LIRR trains from Grand Central Madison right to the AirTrain. If you catch both with minimal wait, I've been door to door in 25minutes and its about $9! You want to avoid taking the roadways if you can; traffic is crazy day and night especially with the ongoing construction.

The northeast has been a mess over the past few days. I agree on the westerly routing back to JFK. Being it’s a redeye you probably wouldn’t get moved around in ZJX but if I can avoid them when I’m flight planning I will. I’m always looking for ways to route out of a JAX5/7 lol. Do you get decent trip rig for the long layover in the redeye pairing?

Fun video! Its way cheaper if you lived south Brooklyn near JFK or somewhere in queens. What you save on rent will cover having a car. Then you can drive yourself to work and no $100 Ubers. I'm in Midwood and there is enough street parking and I can get to Jfk in 25-35 mins. With traffic an hour at most. Not sure how much a pilot pays to park at JFK though.

As a pilot, what are the procedures for transitioning from US airspace to Mexico (or other international airspace’s)? Simply contacting approach? (Other than customs, etc). Also, any suggestions for getting better with ATC and working through Class C or B? Thanks!

Hey Garrett! Thanks for always creating great content. I'm currently a junior in college, (my parents insist I have a bachelor's as a backup) I plan to start ATP's accelerated program as soon as I graduate. Will I have any advantages at the airlines having a bachelor's?
P.S. I'm just worried i'm wasting time-- I know seniority is big in aviation.

Yo could you please explain what knowledge you need to have in terms of math and physics to start having pilot classes? The schools nearby me ask for students to have knowledge on those subjects but i would like to know the specifics because i believe they test us before we start having the classes
